I always adore how any works of art especially paintings of course that it always taken care of for preservation for the future generations to come... 💗
It is such a wonderful thing for me to see the respect and care for those wonderful pieces. It would make me extremely happy to be part of that army of protectors and custodians taking care diligently of art, in this case very important Western art.
Fascinating. I had no idea the painting was mounted on a sort of "underframe," on which the external wooden frame hangs; I'd love to see a video about that. Is the underframe metal, so less prone to warping? Is the canvas mounted directly on that, or is it still on an antique wooden stretcher (surely not the 16th-century original?)? You can't give us too many conservation videos - there's so much about the physicality of paintings that even art historians don't understand!
I really wish they had kept it in the wonderful altar frame which they created for it when they had the Sebastiano exhibition a few years ago. A proper altar frame makes such a difference to how you look at this picture.
“The raising of Lazurus “ painting is powerful and especially poignant during this season of spring and new birth. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing 💜
At what point does the terror stop? When it's on the frame or when it's arrived at its final destination and rehung? It's one heck of a job, no matter which!
What a task. How many does it take to hang a master? And how do they attach or secure that frame to wall or picture? Even picture. Sits on ledge, but must have clamps or something?
Great job, folks. You're the heroes behind the scenes!
the care brought tears to my eyes, we should care so much for created things and beings

These are fascinating videos. I'd love to work in a museum like that!
Amazing to see all the preparation and technology used to move a picture, and took so many hours. Thank you for the video 🙏
Congratulations to Patrick and his dedicated crew on the rehang of NG#1👏🎨🙏

Agree with your comment.
Fascinating. I love the logistics of moving/installing works of art as much as the art itself ❤️ good work, team 👍

Wow, the figures are life-size!

I wonder how paintings of this size were transported back before cars were invented. I can’t imagine a horse and carriage pulling something so large!
kind of thought it was going into that all stark white room.. which could be interesting
Catchy title!
Where's the giant tabernacle frame?
