      Yes, one wonders how the light passes through the cut-outs in the base. Da Corte's "Window" works react wonderfully to the light. Apparently, so does this mobile. There is one sunset picture here: www.designboom.com/art/new-york-city-big-bird-moon-alex-da-corte-met-roof-garden-04-16-2021/

      Anything paying tribute to Donna Summer, Big Bird, Alexander Calder, the Unicorn tapestry taps into my sense of joy and wonder. I find it the opposite of pretentious.
