I cant describe why I love her art so much. I find her inspiring on a very personal and visceral level. The simplicity of the subject matter, and the use of negative space, really gets to me. She doesnt do much background. She works on silhouette and bluntness...I enjoy it a lot.
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I would love any help you can give me
@Tadeo Elias thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Making prints is labor. Creating an idea and method is art. You need assistance to continue creation, otherwise time spent producing becomes lost time creating.Right? With scale, of course. :)
..its a copper plate etching probably drawn with some kind of etching needle...might have been bit with acid but it looks pretty clear for that ...don't know if that helps 3 years later :)

I love Kiki Smith!! This is so wonderful 😄💕
My sister, Carol Weaver, was a great printmaker. She died too young. She made good coffee too.
Excellent! Thank you!
Gosto muito do trabalho da Kiki Smith. SALUTE!
Great Work !
Back in school at WIU we called that Intaglio. But the size of the copper!

This is excellent, but I wish she would explain how the plate was made.

um prazer dividir o processo
Must be tough making your assistants pull your prints for you
He is a handsome dude. You do him proud.
is the pressing machine different for relife of wood, lithography and etching method??
angle beat yes.
It is an intaglio printer from the Renaisence. This printing press came from France and is an antique. Very labour intensive.
Amazing
Very good.......
Blissful
admiro como hacen esas impresiones, muy bellas pero ese gato lo veo muy extraño, tiene una boca qe no me termina de convencer ... mmm
endlessly sentimental
Waw
hi
I hope those are non-toxic inks you're using...
Hmmm, not sure I like the subject matters. The portrait was pretty crappy too. A cat??
the cat was creepy i like it. but the portrait of her friend.. :/
What's wrong with cats?
The cat was horrible but the portrait was ok
