Eddie kicks it with Julez of the Barber Gang, a crew of Filipinos who cut fades and liners in San Francisco's Little Manila. First Eddie gets a fresh cut and hangs with local rap group The Jealous Guys, before heading off to Julez's favorite Filipino joint to talk chicken adobo, and how sisig could become the next sushi. Also in this episode, Eddie dives into the art of the Mission burrito, giving you a locals only tour ending with him crowning his personal favorite.

If anyone was wondering that first Filipino dish that the girl called "basically vegetables" 😂it's called balatong (Ilocano)/ Monggo Guisado (Tagalog) it's basically a sautéed mung bean stew, with shrimp, pork, mung beans, bitter melon leaves or spinach and onions, garlic, ginger and fish sauce for the base. Bomb over steamed rice 👌
“It’s these greens round beans that’s sits over a bed of rice, and if you dig deep enough, you might find a shrimp or 2”
"They're just dying to give me this mexican sushi with the bukakke accoutrements on top" I am cryinggg 😂😂
Theres a Dominican/japanese chef that's big in the Dominican space because he put plantains in a sushi roll with a beautiful presentation.
real mexican here. yeah thats bukake it aint mexican.
Had me dying as a pan easter asian food chef and a weeb by guy nearly made me fall over
Yo that Filipino girl at the restaurant, she can tell me whatever she wants and I'll eat it without hesitation LOL
She can serve u shit n you still eat it??
D Zuke lmfao!
LOL She wouldn't even have to say anything and I'm there in a jiffy
The song at the end "Erik Satie - Gymnopédie No.1"
Was pretty dope.
That was the most beautiful thing I ever heard about a burrito. Love~
Finally they have brought back these episodes
I cringed so hard at the chick who had no idea what was in the food she was serving.
that was super awkward
Camille Simard That brought back some memories of my experiences in part-time food service jobs. I like how she said 'pretty much' like 12 times.
You can easily hide not knowing exactly what's in it by calling it a "house/fresh blend". It's a "fresh vegetable blend" seasoned with "the house spice blend". You just can't do that with meat; nobody wants to hear mystery meat.
I know, that's not menudo! So disappointing.
she fine as hell tho... I won't be complaining
every time eddie asked that filipino girl a question she starts off her answer with "that's pretty much". hahaha
Love this show. Huang is awesome !
Such a great moment of reflection at the end.
Loving the way the bay is portrayed in this mini series ..Huang you the man to watch!
i have watch all of ur videos but much love. (missouri)
Damn, have been waiting for Eddie Huang for so long.
Send him somewhere outside the U.S., though, I feel like Eddie does a superb job of showing different cultures.
...yo, i never took the time to understand filipino food until i saw this video: for 26 years i never understood, it's never been about the flare but that doesn't mean it aint got swag; you can actually taste the history and the struggle that the culture brings to the table from the richness of the food; a combination of sweet, sour, salty and just enough spice; it literally is "soul food" because if your eyes may not be satisfied, it's your: mind, heart, body, and soul, that will say otherwise #one #mahal #mabuhay
Yeah? You can taste the struggle?
@@AndNoted Google "Dinuguan" fam ✌️
Okok Fillmoe finally getting some well deserved well overdue recognition
Faerie Princess Aw shit, three videos in one day? It's like I'm in Huang Heaven.
Unfortunate they are all old re-uploads :'(
Vietnamese and Filippino chicks are fine.
Especially Pinays!
i love how eddie huang not only carries the chinese culture up but also other asian cultures...very admirable...
Yo i like your style in the shows and how you breaking them barriers from the norm.
Groovy ! I use to be a barber in SF. I really miss that city.
Dope video! Love me some burritos
From the bay and I love filipino food. I grew it up eating it.
Ayeee! Pampanga's! Hahaha. Daly City is like 99% filipino, no joke.
Aw shit, three videos in one day? It's like I'm in Huang Heaven.
yo la taqueria is the best in my book, but the tacos (carne asada #1) are the true heroes of the restaurant
Gotta get that prawn black beans burrito at Cancun 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 fuego
WHAT WAS THAT BEAUTIFUL CLOSING TRACK?
whats the name of the song at the beginning of the show @ the credits
I'm all about that Lechon and Lumpia all day son! Filipino food is the bomb.
You gotta get the La Taqueria burrito Dorado Style!
man i love watching this shittt
i love this show but it doesnt represent the bay area right at all
rawrricky yea for real didn't even hit guadalajara or real fil am 101 school st smh
Yee
Idk the dudes with duck tails are repoint ya right lol
The whole point of this series is showing shit you wouldn't usually see. Every episode
It does to some extent but for sure not all of it. I'm glad he tried out the good taqueria's on Mission
Finally! And good luck with that show it looks funny as f***.
Pleasant surprise to hear a Satie composition at the end. I don't find any of this food appealing but this was interesting, thank you.
For me ... one food I find it hard to stop eating is fresh linguini with fresh clams. "vongole" Italian. Spaghetti with white clam sauce, or linguini. It's maddening.
Ooh kapampagan food! I wonder how popular that ginataang tulingan is? I saw the server scooping it up in one of the cuts.
love this! Eddie is a great host, I`m hoping for more
@munchies, yall reposting these videos. Old but still good
that ending /cry
Fillmore stand up!!
finally some Filipino food on Munchies
This part is taken from a Previous episode of Fresh Off The Boat haha! But i'll watch it anyway cause Eddie's Great!
yeahhhhhh eddie!!
Good luck with your show on ABC man!
bay area is an area where space is limited. so strip malls in ethnically diverse neighborhoods might end up being an anchor of ethnic food stores, along with services like barbers and also casual fast food. ultimately it's a utilization of space by cultures that have a different perspective on the space they end up using. in an area like daly city bursting at the seam with culture, and also where pace is limited to many strip malls, and suburban residential areas, the mall isn't just a mall, it can be the blank canvas splash-painted into a cultural bazar for trade, food and exchange of services.
We have a lot of good food in the South Bay too! We like to highlight them!
Burrito carrier... that's gold
El Farolito is one of the best - the one in Oakland is my favorite.
Never had the Oakland location but the SF Mission El Farolito is a taqueria like no other
El Farolito is my shit, damn good choice
La Tapitia on Grand Ave in SSF makes my favorite burrito (crispy chicharrone). It's the only crunchy burrito I've ever had.
That mysterious flavor is from the right amount of cilantro.
Going to SF to chill with the AZN baddies
YOOO, Rockin that Nicaraguan flag in the Filipino barber shop!!!!
Pinoy pride!
Taqueria El Farolito is the best burrito spot in the mission hands down
NICKOLAS CAIN man that shit be packed af on a late night
NICKOLAS CAIN or Sonoma county we have 1 in Santa Rosa I grew up on and found another in Rohnert Park.
City By The Bay dude same as Santa Rosa one where I'm from same style and distributions so sane quality. Cars in line people in line lol 😂😂😂😂 my fat ass standing in line
Eddie is a pretty cool guy
real talk I can say from experience I love the culture & food I lived with Filipinos for a year & i'm black so I can say I respect it 100%
I want a burrito so bad now.
wish they had these foods in my town
I went to la taqueria in SF and their tacos were the best i've ever had. I'm also saying this as someone from jersey, where our mexican food is crap.
Papalotes is better
Pancho Villa!
Go to San Jalisco in San Francisco
is that a g pen or e cig?
I'm so hungry now.
Donde puedo conseguir este programa al latino
I've been two the last 2 burrito places
I love my city san Francisco always in my city💯😤🙏🏽
You missed alotta stops in oakland
Pampanga's Cuisine is cool, but it's all about that Fil-Am Cuisine. They just opened up a bigger space in South City because the hole in the wall in Daly City was poppin.
Philip Callado I like aj bbq on ocean ave over fil-am
Lucky Chances casino in Colma has some amazing Filipino food, esp the Silogs
Whats the name of the song in the beginning? thx
I go to Farolito too. It is good.
yo what was the first song in the video
What’s the name of the piano instrumental at the end?? Anyone know
Your videos are like crack. I can't stop watching them.
what kind of glasses are those 2:46
Come back and check out Oakland. We have a huge food culture.
hugeeeeee
Fareal to i mean from mexican to soul food, vietnamese, indian, pizza, cheesesteaks my bruh was cattin with that Oakland lineup but ey im sure that might be on the producers too
Does anyone know what the animation of the intro is called?
Can anyone figure out the ending credits on this 3rd part video of the piano solo?
Gymnopedie no.1
whats the name of the song of the intro?
Eddie and Action Bronson pushing that Dri-Fit.
anyone know the piano piece at the end?
"Oh que la cancion" lmao lolol who else heard this?
What happenes to the fresh off the boat name ? Copyright issues ?
I must know what song starts playing at 8:58
Chris W Erik Satie - Gymnopedie No. 1
What Cambodia food! I don't see anyone talk about it!
You need some starter food like orange chicken to introduce some people to new food. Food trucks are great for other food cause they got something that just smells good and people see others walking with on the street and will try it.
"They're just dying to give me this Mexican sushi with the Bukkake accoutrements on top"....hahaha! Eddie's funny as fuck!
Yo that girl working the filipino food was either camera shy or a huge airhead. I'm glad Eddie kept it real and called out her bullshit.
Farilito is the spot!
BEST BURRITOS AND QUESADILLAS IN ALL OF CALIFORNIA PERHAPS THE ENTIRE COUNTRY
Gonna take my officemates to a sisig power lunch then lol
that uzi sample tho
You should have hit San Jose for those Burritos, kid. Also that Bay Pho is unreal. Hopefully next time.
IKR, even La Vics could have killed those places.
Truth
You're crazy. La Shits doesn't even compare.
There are so many though in the San Jose. La Vic's I hit up for that crack sauce. But there is La Mordida, El Gruellense, Casa Vicky's, Jaliscos.Even Super Taqueria has bomb burritos. The list goes on in San Jo.
East Oakland East 14th, San Jo and Frisco Mission st are ALL just as good
El farolito has great burritos, but you should have gone to Pancho Villa.
Come to philly and try our bomb ass cheesesteaks lmao
Those Vietnamese girls are beautiful. Breath-taking at the very least to my eyes.
I prefer the Pinay chick who wasn't able to explain the food properly. What a beauty
He blows out his vapor in front of the ambulance lol
WHATS THE FIRST SONG!!!!!!!!
music at the end anyone?
That piano part, could be a nice sample for hip hop.
been to farollitos high shit is bomb open late night Always packed
how was that place that dudes spot? he couldnt even pronounce it.
Cali
houang ate like 10 burritos just in this episode alone jeez
