solid video, this man has been pissed off by all the other shitty tutorials and made it as it should be. Thank you sir.
Dude brother! I lost a tire this weekend on the highway but thanks to this video I'm gonna fix things myself. Thanks for this!
Thank you very much! Great explanation. I had the same exact set up for replacing my parts as you. Help me save a lot of money. And do it myself step-by-step
Awesome and straight to the point!! Thank you 🙏🏾
Good job I have done this a few times but just wanted a little refresher on how to do it 👌🏽
Nice job. Great video
Great instructional video.
Nice video thanks for the info
Thank don’t have a trailer, but like learning.
I know your video is older, but thank you, thank you. Perfect video I needed today. Take care my friend

Great video! Short yes, but detailed !
@@irnfocus that's the idea behind my short tip Saturday line of videos.... Cover a topic thoroughly yet quickly because we all have busy lives.
Thank you!
Very good job.
Who are you and what did you do with Chad Fields?
@@TheWeekendAngler whatever do you mean??? I'm the nice one!! James Dockery Fishing is the angry one!!
Great move switching over to hubs on that trailer. Those splits are dangerous
I haven't messed with split rims in a long time and for a good reason. They were item #1 on the 'To Replace' list. :-)
Wow! That was simple and I was going get a garage to do it after watching this I’m going it myself. Thanks
I am glad to hear that thank you. I'm happy to help you out
Now for the front that seal goes over the outer bearing right? Before i put the castle nut on?😅
Very changed a hub before
great video I would like to change my assembly do you know how they measure them so I can order new ones
Thank you
Use a caliper and measure the axle. Measure where the inner bearing and outer bearing sit
Tim is absolutely correct. Also, if the current bearings aren't destroyed, you can look for the L-Number etched into them and cross reference by that. Caliper will get you the right bearing every time, however.
@@TheWeekendAngler awesome I did just that and ordered a new whole hub assembly thank you so much for the reply
unfortunately it didn't fit I can't find a hub that fits 1 1/4" spindle 5 lug anyone have any suggestions
@@ronbelcher9301 in what way didn't it fit? Bearing Diameter or hub thickness? I'll try to find you one that will work.
I ran into an issue with the trailer in this video. I had to end up ordering shorty hubs because the spindles weren't long enough for regulars.
If my wheels have play in them does that mean I need near bearings? It wobbles
If your wheels are wobbling there is a good chance it will need new bearings. The castle nut could also be loose, but if it's been driven very far with a wobbly wheel because of a loose nut, I'm not sure I'd still trust the bearing.
When you remove the hub and bearing assembly, be sure to inspect the spindle for any signs of damage or gouging. A damaged spindle will eat up a brand new set of bearings rather quickly.
@@TheWeekendAngler Turns out the nut was just loose which made my wheel wobble for both side. I tightened it and then put the pin back on.
I had to buy the split rim assembly because I can’t find a hub bearing to fit 3/4 shaft. I haven’t used the trailer in years. I have the castle nuts but must’ve threw out the washer accidentally when I tossed the bearings. Do you know if a standard 3/4 flat washer will work? Good video.
I'm not sure if a standard 3/4 washer will fit inside the hub. The outer diameter of the washer may be too big. I ran into a similar problem on this trailer and ended up using a 5/8 washer that I bored the center out to 3/4. It's been working perfectly.
@@TheWeekendAngler I found the right washer. Now my castle nut is too long. Lol. I have to find a shorter one or grind mine down. Always something. Just thought I’d share. Also, mine is not a split rim. It’s just that the bearings are built into the rim.
@@karvtek I definitely feel for you. A shorter one would be the best solution because grinding the other one deeper could potentially compromise its strength.
@@TheWeekendAngler there’s enough meat there but I’d have to grind it pretty straight. Purchase is best.
@@karvtek purchase is definitely best but rolling is better than stopped. I know I'd file it down some if I had to.
