    I've set up my Di2 the same way on my road bike, called syncroshift. I now use the left lever to scroll through the screen on my Garmin Edge 1030

      You can change your own gears like that…

    • @butters2614
      @butters2614 День назад

      You can do this maunually while upshifting, even the entry level sora group set is able to drop three gears at the cassette with one long stroke on the downshift lever. Sadly it wouldn't work so smoothly when downshifting

    SRAM etap AXS has the same thing! Such a neat feature

    I have Di2 on my gravel tandem. I used syncroshift for a bit but went back to "regular" shifting. It still compensates on the rear (shifting the other way two cogs) when I shift the front but I don't have it set to shift the front when I shift the rear to a certain point. I still like controlling when the front shifts.
    The other thing I love about Di2 is that it shows the gears on my Garmin - really helpful on the tandem.

    So the new GRX for gravel is basically what I do on my 2017 budget XC race bike. It's 2x10, and when I go to that big ring, the rear derailleur has gotta work too, so just a cool assist in my opinion

    This is a good feature from DI2 but I disabled it on both my road bikes because I feel like I want complete control over my front derailleur and decide when to shift gear.

  • @dtolios
    @dtolios Год назад +1

    I do the same in my mechanical, although i shift two easier in the back when going ftom the 31T ring to 48T. Definitely more complicated than a button !

  • @Nicoya
    @Nicoya Год назад +6

    I feel like this would mess me up so bad, like I'm used to being able to shift like an ape when I'm going to harder gears, and having a front shift happen unexpectedly in the middle of that would probably end up with a snapped chain and a bunch of tears. Long story short, that's why I run a mullet 1x on my gravel bike.

    • @julianmcgregor7949
      @julianmcgregor7949 Год назад

      What does mullet mean for gravel, cause mtb its mixed wheel sizes

    • @Nicoya
      @Nicoya Год назад

      @@LastAphelion It means a road/gravel 1x drivetrain but with an MTB cassette and derailleur. In my case, the gearing I get is 42t in front and 10-50t in the back.

    • @sydandmacky
      @sydandmacky  Год назад +5

      You can also set up the Di2 so that it just acts like a normal derailleur with left shifter for front and right for rear.

      AXS batteries can fall off/be removed and are prone to not charging properly. That's unreliable

      @@cjohnson3836 you obviously havent used synchro shift. Under load the multiple shift is trash. cool gimmick but if you have any power down at all it kind of sucks. Its great for just tooling around but definitely gets turned off when i am racing.

    If you're shifting up, why would you want it to go in the big ring at the front? That makes no sense. Also you would never be in big and big

    • @rcg9573
      @rcg9573 9 месяцев назад

      You're not understanding how it works, and you absolutely can go big-big (big ring up front and smallest cassette ring) in full synchroshift mode.

    • @diehardbikes
      @diehardbikes 2 месяца назад

      So, he has it set up so that once it gets to a certain point on the cassette, that the front derailleur will automatically shift to reduce chain crossing(aka crosschaining).
