- A Mesa County grand jury indicted Tina Peters and Deputy Clerk Belinda Knisley in an investigation in election equipment tampering and official misconduct.
I don't care what party she is from. If she is guilty...lock her up.
I care what party she's from because the GOP has essentially become an organized crime ring. Peters is far from the only Republican to pull these sorts of stunts, and the inspiration for her unlawful actions came directly from the leader of the party, just like the Capitol attack.

I struggle with why the county is not already required to preserve evidence - i mean election records - such as images of hard drives. What are they trying to hide by overwriting drives with a 'trusted download' without first preserving the record?

That video showed the February arrest/detention. She was released at the scene that day and did not go to jail. This past Wednesday (March 9th), she turned herself in for these new charges. She stayed in jail after 24 hours, and then posted bond.

I'm in the hope's that the law comes upon all of the political system in America. Regardless of the party . I too saw that video and her mouthing to an accomplice to get rid of something. It's as clear as day. This series of crimes was premeditated in that noone needs to switch off the security cameras of this building. There are no coincidences, just foolish plans for the retention of power and dirt on someone. I struggle with the idea of people being in so much denial in these days. CCTV is good for law abiding citizens and not for criminals. I'd require not only the prison sentence but to return any salary from the point of the crimes.

So my question is still unanswered. Of what value is a copy of the old hard drive other than to prove that the new drive software has a bias? Her "crime" doesn't make any sense unless it's an attempt to prove that the new election software has been tampered with.
Also, if what she did was indeed a crime, why are the Maricopa County Democrats who also removed and copied hard drives not being prosecuted as well? Does Arizona have different laws for different people? All of this appears very political to me.

Seems like Peters had actual knowledge of these alleged crimes, she clearly knew before doing these actions was against the applicable laws, she knew what the laws were and she ignored all of that which makes these willful violations of the laws, of course a jury will have to sit in on the trial and later determine if she is guilty of the felony and misdemeanor charges.
She followed the law, by preserving the election results, as the law states. Problem is, the current SOS wanted all of those hard drives scrubbed, to hide the evidence of the real election tampering. Tina Peters is not the criminal in all of this, the CO SOS is.
