For example if we get nearly 100% response rate in a county thatd be suspicious 100% of registered voters do not vote. If we get a total count and its 54% to 46% youd expect that any group of 100 random ballots would have approximately that same ratio. A hand count of 10,000 out of 100,000 again should replicate closely the ratios. Thats what an audit is. Full hand counts are ludicrous that'd be like meijer hand counting the kernels of popcorn in the jars vs trusting a machine to do it which will clearly be faster more accurate. If we get a total count and its 54% to 46% youd expect that any group of 100 random ballots would have approximately that same ratio. A hand count of 10,000 out of 100,000 again should replicate closely the ratios. Thats what an audit is.

That's a good question about "why just investigations?" The thing is, things work differently when you are dealing with interior affairs of the government. Whereas civilians know "investigations" as things done by police, with the end result being an arrest and detention of a suspect, govt workers are investigated by committees, of other govt people, whose main job isn't law enforcement. It's like being investigated by your manager, with the end result usually only getting a "write up" because they have your back.

This was reported before and her name was given, Rachel just didn't give her name in the video. I didn't know about Lauren Boebert's campaign manager involvement. Prior to this I knew her name (Tina Peters).

Fair enough but I was just listening to the story. I couldn't see the screen. Her name wasn't in the video description and not mentioned a single time by Rachel. I think you would agree that's bad journalism from a normally very good journalist.
