    Thank you for another great video, I must admit the thought of taking a paint brush to a locomotive you've just spent £££ on brings on a sweat😰 But Ivana does a fantastic job and I appreciate what a transformation it makes. May I also echo what others have said and say how lovely it is to see a lady on camera, there are not enough females in the hobby and it's a shame as they bring another dimension to the scenic work. Our hobby is for everyone😊

    Wow, this treatment turned a beautiful loco into a piece of art! Very effective and detailed, and all without airbrush...
    Was slightly worried first, when paint was applied generously, but it worked out perfectly.
    This gave me enough confidence to try and practice on an old coach or wagon, thank you very much for sharing!

    Sometimes it takes the gentle touch of one of our lady modellers to do this really well. I have tried but I simply do not have the gentle touch required..age, shakes and arthritis are not the best of conditions to have either. May I congratulate you Ivana on your superb work. I would imagine looking at McKinley so far there will be no shortage of work for you.
    May I add in a totally non sexist way, how pleasant it is to see young ladies in the hobby. Both my daughters have had an interest since an early age and still do in their thirties.

    The model railway world needs more "Ivana's" to weather rollingstock... I have the greatest respect for such quality and straight-forwardness to "real-ize" brand-new locomotives... clean and spiffy for the first few days... but, "weather and dirt happens" every day.
    Awesome video of "new to powered strength use" change. Thank you!

Beautifully showing how subtle or heavy one can work with these colours and the blending the paint and powders together. Always a pleasure to see and hear Ivana in action and seeing the end results of her work, as on this Class 31. Please Mr McKinley, can we have some more... LOL.

    I've seen this lady's work before and I often end up weathering models etc without an airbrush, but I use the latter for base coats, top coats and specific weathering effects. But for detail weathering, almost always, I do so by brush and/or powders etc.
    I've been weathering models since 1975 - eeekk! - this lady is very skilled and Ive learned about modern acrylic - and modern oil based - products from her videos (I've had to switch to acrylics due to health issues etc over the past few years).
    It's a shame we don't see more ladies involved with our 3D art form (railway modelling), ladies often have better dexterity too, and, a pretty face always warms the soul too (am I allowed to say that these days? Of course I am, a clever, skilled, pretty lady who's taken time to show us how to model make better, it's a compliment on my part and I'm grateful for all the help that I can get!)😊😊👍👍

    Hi Ivana.
    I watched your previous weathering video some 10 months ago, so I'm familiar with your work, and you definitely still get 10 out of 10 for your excellent weathering skills. Unlike most model weatherers, you have a very subtle approach, so let's put it down to a woman's touch.
    As I'm a steamer person, I would love to see you weather a steam loco as, watching you at work on one, would give me a useful guide to the do's and don'ts when it comes to weathering my steam locos.

    Have you considered getting some cameras and creating a streaming channel? I personally would love to see some running sessions (particularly at Sheffield) and looking at the comments here others would enjoy watching the upkeep and upgrades you perform on your equipment. I realise this might be a bit too intrusive and fully understand that not every member of McKinley would enjoy hosting streams.

    • @dattouk
      @dattouk  2 года назад

      We do plan to do something like that. First things first we have to get the railway built and operators trained and the software/hardware/stock all debugged and reliable. Where would we go to understand what is required for streaming? Its one thing to have an IP camera but how do you allow 20 people to all see the same view? If you know of any good web sites that explain it in noddy steps, please let us know. Thanks for your input...

    • @freezze12
      @freezze12 2 года назад

      Thanks for replying. I think it would be better to simplify the streams by concentrating on a single station/area on the layout. At London for example you could have a camera near the engine shed looking up to the station, so viewers can see the trains come in and depart. Maybe with an overlay of the arrivals/departures board you use on your iPads. You could have those specific operator wear lapel mics, so they can communicate what they are doing to the audience. Maybe have a tech savvy member watching the chat to ask questions from the audience.
      You could then have that as a setup for a week or two and change to a different area as they are under going their build.
      I think watching a training session for the new areas would be very interesting. No-one trained me to pilot model trains and my setup will never be a hundredth as complicated as McKinley. I think just a regular RUclips video of a training session would be a great watch
