Someone I know was VAC Banned on the first batch of source games (TF2\CS:S) well over a decade ago and that notification disappeared from his profile recently (1-2 years ago). Idk if it still shows up on his profile when viewed by himself, but other people looking at his profile cannot see it.

VAC bans get hidden after 7 years, but the player will still remain banned
