Nextorage CFexpress 4.0 Type B Memory Card, Card Reader, and SSD Introduced

    During InterBEE 2023 in Tokyo, Nextorage introduced a new 1330Gb CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory card with impressive maximum read and write speeds of 3.700 and 3.500MB/s, respectively. Also, the company showed us a new CFexpress Type B card reader that connects to your computer via USB 4 and can reach maximum transfer speeds of up to 40Gb/s. Lastly, they also introduced a new external SSD. So, let's take a closer look at these!

    Cameras may not be available for these cards yet but, there is still some benefit to transfer speeds from card to computer. It would be great if the hardware in cameras can support 4.0 but require a firmware update to unlock. Like going from XQD to CF Express type b, one can only hope.

    There is no firmware upgrade that will unlock a cameras ability to jump up to PCIe 4.0 from a previous version. That is a physical limitation of how the camera was built from the factory.
    The new cards are backwards compatible with older cameras and so far, seems they are selling at the same price as the previous gen cards.
