I'm doing an edwardian skirt, and the instructions... uh. Expect the user to know quite a few things about sewing already, to say it politely. The placket was, indeed, kinda scary, especially since it was done differently back then compared to now - thank you very much for the tutorial! And especially for showing how it all lines up and works and looks in the end, now it finally clicked in my head on how it's supposed to look like :D
I've had this pattern for a fan skirt from Black Snails for ever and I still haven't made it. Now, seeing yours (and your sisters) I know I need to make this soon. Thank you for the placket tutorial, that makes the whole project alot easier! ❤
Your welcome. 😊
I, too, have this Black Snails fan skirt pattern. I really like how this came out. I think I need to finally make this one. I think the reason why I haven't yet is because the skirt on the pattern is a weird brown, and I just kind of bypass it because of that. It's fabulous in black.
Thank you 😊
Great job always enjoy your videos . thank you> Cheers Tricia.
Thank you 😁
I always, always overthink plackets. They’re not that complicated, but I overthink them every time. I’ll be saving this video, so thanks.
If you do have to finish the raw edges of the plackets, what would be the best way to do that?
You could turn the edge in and wipstich it down by hand or put bias tape on the edge before sewing it in. It depends on the fabric. 😊
fabric too dark to see
