I thought I knew this band pretty well back in the day when I bought ObLaDi and Rainbow when I was 13 ish. This concert is a real eye opener and portrays their true talents as individual artists. I would love to see young peoples reactions to this…come on, bring it on !
All of the singers of Marmalade were great and their voices blended so beautifully. And Dean Ford's soaring voice and energy are a blessing to hear and behold! ❤😊
I was too young to listen to their music but later came across them and now I'm addicted. Dean Ford had such an incredible range in his voice. The guys were so talented and under rated. I will never forget the first time I ever heard "Reflections". It is the song I want to have played at my burial. It is a classic! ❤
Brillant Liverpool Empire what a night !! Deans voice still soulful till the end RIP and fly high Dean wish I could of been there for you Your voice is just beautiful:) 🙏🙏💕
I was 13 years old in 1970. 64 now. I look at the young people in the audience then, now they must be in their 70s or 80s . Dont waste your life. Dean had a terrific voice rip.
This is fabulous thank you. No special effects, falseness etc. just pure talent, beautiful harmonies and of course Dean's unbelievable voice. Also the humility - no big egos visible to me.
I loved The Marmalade when I was a teenager and now I'm in my 60s still enjoy listening to their hit songs...baby make it soon and reflection of my life are the best ones I like! RIP Dean Ford ❤
Such a great Band, and “Reflections of My Life” is such a great song, and it always takes me back to my old home every time I hear it. Thank you Dean Ford and all you guys in the band. You each are exceptional and great musicians. Thank you! ❤️
What a pleasure it is to hear this Marmalade Concert, no frills, just pure, beautiful music, with GREAT, talented performers! I am sure I will play this again and again on RUclips. Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone!
I remember both my parents buying me clothes such as theirs. I thought I was so cool at school but actually, I was a complete spazzed-out nerd dressed cool. I grew out the nerd but still think I'm cool.
Ashamed that I took The Marmalade for granted all these years. Dean Ford has such a beautiful, soulful, blues voice. Thank you so much for this. Thank God Granada didn't wipe these tapes as the damn BBC did. The Free "Doing Their Thing" is sublime. Just started watching this...really thrilled it exists! Thank you!
Damn the BBC for such thoughtlessness and lack of foresight from such a seemingly intelligent group of individuals. Thank you, Scotland for all of your wonderful talent over the years.
Love Dean Ford and Marmalade, great band, great songs, so sad that Dean and Pat Fairley are no longer with us. Bought the Marmalade greatest hits CD recently and giving it a real flogging!! 24/3/23
What a great Rock band was Marmalade! Dean Ford's voice is absolutely fantastic. I love their rendition of the Crosby Stills song. It is even better, in my opinion, than the original!! And yes, Reflections of My Life is a beautiful song, with so much feeling and power. Dean Ford's gifted voice was a blessing to us all, and I love Marmalade's musical precision. Thank God, we can continue to enjoy and appreciate Marmalade on RUclips today!
I used to go and see them at The Marquee on Thursdays in ‘68. They had a fabulous repertoire of Soul/Motown standards, where they vocally harmonised all the brass parts! Mermorable were This Ole Heart Of Mine (isleys), Show Me (Joe Tex), Get Ready (Temptations)……. Just a totally fabulous group……..
They used to play in my local youth club in the late 60’s as Dean Ford and the Gaylords and were streets ahead of any of the other bands playing there. I was alway fascinated by Junior Campbell’s guitar playing, being a lefty he used a standard right handed guitar which meant all the strings were upside down! Unique at the time. This is a great performance and great to see.
Also looks like Dean Ford is left-handed too. 2 left handers in the band! So talented. I was young when they were famous so didn’t really appreciate them back then but love them now!
WOW, I did not realize that this band was waaaay more than a one hit wonder & that they were this good. Thank you for the great music all these years. Dean Ford, Rest In The Lord's Glorious Peace that no human can understand & that only He can comprehend. Philippians 4:7

I remember seeing this when it aired.....My mother must liked their three part harmony....We were allowed to watch this band, but not any other rock or pop band....She must knew talent when she heard it.
What a peach of a voice and scottish 🏴 fell into this after listening to obla de reflections of my life and rainbow 🌈 should have been a supergroup thank you for posting this 🔥
What a voice coming out of a skinny guy...RIP....I am glad he remade Reflections before he passed on...Their version of Judy Blue Eyes and Sound of Silence is better than the original artists...My opinion of course.
Dean’s had clarity and heart. His voice never wavered or faded even when he was old. Even the music he recorded shortly before he died was perfection.☮️💔😮
What a great live rendition of Reflections Of My Life that was. 'The world is, a bad place, a bad place, a terrible place to live, Oh, but I don't wanna die.' That lyric just punches through my soul like no other. It was true for those times, and has great relevance today also. As bad as this shitty world is today ...... who wants to die?
What an amazing song reflections of my life and your quote from that one line is so true.loved Dean Ford brings lots of lovely memories of my teenage years.and is also one of my funeral songs rip Dean a truly amazing and very underrated artist.
First saw Dean Ford and the Gaylords - The Marmalade - in 1963 at Whitecraigs Tennis Club, Glasgow. They blew me away - so professional. We supported them on stage at Bearsden Burgh Halls. Then came the move South and the name change to Marmalade. Fabulous band with some great recordings. How come "I See The Rain" was not a big hit? How did Junior Campbell play his right handed Stratocaster left handed tuned to an open E? Thanks for all the memories and great songs.
I remember Rainbow....it did not do as well as Reflections...Junior Campbell has a video out there for the 50th year of Rainbow , he plays the recording studio rehearsal of the song...Interesting to hear Dean Ford sing without music
Hermosas melodias, con esos sonidos ,de armonica y pandero,su vestir moderno ,pero con clase ,sus peinados sin actitudes grotescas y amor a la musica,❤😢
I live in The Granada region (north west England) and don't remember this or Marmalade being promoted. This set sounded great, what a talented band they were.
Scotland's answer to the Beatles. A most under-rated and sadly almost forgotten band. I'll not forget. ❤️
Not forgotten.
If you have Facebook there is a fan page. In you are not on it already!
Going strong with lots of us fans!✌🏽
14 when i first heard this and its still a hairs stand up on the back of your neck song. Love it.😘😘
Amazing, live no studio effects just solid tight music with beautiful harmonies love it.
Marmalade fabulous even now in 2023. Still one of my fave bands. RIP Dean and daughter Tracy.
I thought I knew this band pretty well back in the day when I bought ObLaDi and Rainbow when I was 13 ish. This concert is a real eye opener and portrays their true talents as individual artists. I would love to see young peoples reactions to this…come on, bring it on !

The days when a vocalist was, lead was, bass and drums were there drivers we were to have proper Banda.
Amen.
All of the singers of Marmalade were great and their voices blended so beautifully. And Dean Ford's soaring voice and energy are a blessing to hear and behold! ❤😊
Dean Ford was sooooo awesome!! What a superb voice coming out of that cute little guy!!

I loved The Marmalade when I was a teenager and now I'm in my 60s still enjoy listening to their hit songs...baby make it soon and reflection of my life are the best ones I like! RIP Dean Ford ❤
Absolutely stunning , great to hear reflections without all the production extra trumpets and strings
The most underrated group and front man ever.
So glad Granada kept this, brilliant and timeless. Watch it often. 🎤🎵🎼
Such a great Band, and “Reflections of My Life” is such a great song, and it always takes me back to my old home every time I hear it. Thank you Dean Ford and all you guys in the band. You each are exceptional and great musicians. Thank you! ❤️

Awesome band...marvellous song and love the 70s fashion...looking sharp. Dean ford the best.
I remember both my parents buying me clothes such as theirs. I thought I was so cool at school but actually, I was a complete spazzed-out nerd dressed cool. I grew out the nerd but still think I'm cool.
I play this video everyday while I'm working at home.....I am old enough to remember it.....Awesome group then....Harmonies...Hmm nice
People praise Dean Ford a lot, but I admire Jr. Campbell. What a great musician!
Brilliant, brilliant and brilliant.
WOW! RUclips keeps getting better & better. This is amazing to see, uncut(?) and in colour.

I’m very surprised with this band from Scotland.Superb music.Complete package,folks.RIP, Mr. Ford.😮🇨🇺🇺🇸🙏👍
This is incredible. I’m 43 and I can’t believe I’m only now discovering Marmalade.
Well done, I enjoyed them in my teenage years.
Just noticed that Junior Campbell plays a normal right-handed guitar left-handed (ie. upside down).
They had many hits in the UK and Europe
@@jamesmcintyre2008 In New Zealand too!
Who said they were a 1 hit wonder? Started with O Bla Di & had quite a few by early 70s. Do your research first.
Well, they did have Dean Ford. He was amazing. Only Campbell and Knight are presently still with us.
Apologies Alan!!
The 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s were the best years in music but the 60’s were the absolute best in great rock music

Class Act but then no other decade but the sixties produced more this set proves the point glad this video is available good stuff well done.
Noone could disagree with that. Unless all the techno has burned their brain cells at last
❤😢
A little gem. Thanks 🇬🇧 😊
Look at the drum, days of innocence, no meaning, fantastik
it was the logo off a marmalade jar..but was stopped because of small minded morons.
This group covered Crosby Stills & Nash - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. This is my first time. Amazing!!!
