The brilliant group of the original Marmalade, legendary group and what can I say about the beautiful "Reflections Of My Life" other than to say it will remain my forever song as long as I live.
Thank you Junior and Dean (R.I.P🌹) for writing and putting this amazing song together. It relates to my life as I'm sure it does for many others too.

Ob la di is a great cover of a Beatles tune but Reflections is on a whole other level great song and musicianship and a wonderful vocal. Magic!

I was three months old when this was broadcast. So, obviously, I don't remember it. I think "Reflections Of My Life" is a masterpiece. Great lyrics, melody, performance, and production. I was blown away to find this live version.

Priceless performance. The number of string players in the orchestra is a reminder of arguably better times for freelancers. (And you can't beat a low A on bass trombone!)
Junior, I made a list of the 10 songs I would have to have on a deserted island, and Reflections was my favorite. I love your playing on the record, especially the little bit that was played in reverse. It's crazy good! All good wishes.

Having watched 4 or 5 other Marmalade videos from this period, there is one thing in the Reflections song that I did not hear in the others. In the last half of the song, it is clear in the call and answer by Mr. Ford that he had a really good R&B tone that is not heard in other songs. You wonder why he did not employ it more often.
Gifted musicianship and heavenly voices. I'd always wondered who sang the wonderful harmonies to already throat wrenching lead. What a treasure of a video too. Thank you for the music.

btw, pasting a comment I've just written on a DF video. General sentiment for you jNR, tho was directed for Dean of course. "One of my lifelong favorites since hearing on radio circa '69. I only wish I'd followed members of Marmalade closely all these years. I've lost out. Dean's sweet tenor brings me to my knees. I guess he had some hard times. Music can rescue our souls so I can only hope Dean eeked out some happiness. He gave and continues to give to mine. ❤"

Question - The vocal that stands out after the harmonies, "All my crying" etc. does not match with the lead singer's voice, though he is mouthing the words in this and one other video I've seen. On other videos, he isn't mouthing those lines at all, but the vocal is present. It sure sounds like Levi Stubbs, uncredited. Anyone know the story?

What methods were used to get Dean’s stick straight hair to curl? I guess we were all that young once upon a time. Other than beautiful silver hair, you haven’t aged. Thank you for the look back.

No apologies necessary. This was another era and we weren’t being racist liking gollywogs. The Marmalade took the gollywog from the Scottish renowned Robertson’s Marmalade label which had the gollywog as part of their brand. Every jar 🫙 label of their various products had a gollywog coupon which we saved and redeemed for lovely enamelled badges of gollywogs in various activities; sports, music etc. I still have my collection and I was born in 1947 like Junior. ❤️🏴🎼❤️
