I just commented about how i was fighting the tears the first time i beat this game.. Im glad i didn't have this version since it wouldnt have been much of a fight. Zero sacrificed himself before but not like this.

Isn't it ironic? The last of Doctor Wily's creations, created to bring about death and destruction long after he died, ends up saving the Earth.
Not ironic, poetic. Wily's final creation as a whole surpasses Light's. In the end, long end, Wily is gifted what he wanted all along.

....That brought a tear to my eye. I remember somewhere...I'm not sure where or maybe it's paraphrased in my memories but Wily's so jealous of Light, that jealousy turned into bitterness and thats what brought him along his dark road.
Who would have thought centuries later his final creation not only survived pass Light's masterpiece but also not only saved the world but also brought a lasting peace between man and reploids.

I don't understand a word of Japanese... but I can tell that voice actress put her heart and soul into making Ciel sound like a part of her was dying as Zero made his final sacrifice.

Ciel's scream and Zero's final words really do sting. This scene tells you that Zero has no intention of coming back, which is why he chose to blow up Ragnarok along with Dr. Weil... and himself.

Zero is the reason why Maverick Wars exist, he's also the reason why Sigma gone rampage and he's the reason why Elf Wars gone stalemate. Without him the reploids won't go maverick but without him X won't learn anything and evolve.
That final hit. I could almost see Zero driving through the beam, his body getting wrecked as he charged through and drove his Z-Saber into Weil's face as his final act, destroying Weil, his core, and Ragnarok, thus saving all of humanity at the cost of his life.

indeed ive always figured zero was doomed even before every thing exploded that he was on his last legs at the final blow similar to dino bot from beast wars using up the last of his engery to finish things
Not just this scene either. For example the other final boss stages, all of them take place in a special place.
Zero 1: At the lair of the evil dictator which is a bit cliche but classic.
Zero 2: At the grave of his best friend.
Zero 3: At his second birth place.
Zero 4: On a space station that is about to fall on Area Zero aka the place that where his past finally caught up to him and changed his life forever (also the place of a new beginning with his death).
I can put in a lot more details like the boss fight against Elpizo and how its one big story telling hinting at the true essence of the dark elf. (he can't control her during the fight which is why some of his attacks are useless since they don't have any aim like the teleportation one)
Man the feels from this final battle alone would be overwhelming
The whole Reploid era needs an anime adaptation.
I just want to see him in the desert fighting an entire army... And winning.

Zero is a will who always protecting others he cares about. Never asking for gratitude in return and no mercy to anyone who tried harm on someone precious to him.
Same here, and in my humble opinion, those words are the one of the most badass speeches not only from the franchise itself but the whole gaming history up until now, depicting perfectly Zero as the hero himself.

That's the charm of rockman zero
Zero is the example that something created with evil doesn't necessarily have to become evil. Yes, he was created for achieving world dominance, but in the end, he proved that, even if he was made for that purpose, he chose not to follow that path. Zero chose his own path, a path of peace for those who he really cared about, which is humanity as a whole and reploids, and by doing that he achieved redemption for both his creator( Dr. Wily ) and himself. He chose to be more than a hero, he chose to be a redeemer.
When Zero defeated Omega, he redeemed himself from his past sins. When he defeated Dr. Wiel, he redeemed his creator Dr. Wily, because Dr. Wiel represented the summary of all of Dr. Wily's past transgressions, frustrations, failures, envy and sins, so by stopping him, not only did he save humanity, he also saved Dr. Wily's soul. In a way I like to think that, after those events, Dr. Wily is finally at peace becoming friends with Dr. Light again, just before their rivalry.
This shit was emotional enough, and then Ciel screams.

@@adsonblaze That scream was more powerful than I've typically seen in most VAs, especially for a game. You could tell how much of a profound effect Zero had on Ciel at that moment, an it was all the more heartbreaking knowing that he'd now never return :-(

As a note here, in Japanese, Zero doesn't say that he doesn't care about Justice. He says he doesn't see himself as a 正義のみかた, literally "an ally of justice," which is often translated into "superhero." It's the word used for lots of children's superheroes like Ultra Man, etc. Zero is explaining that he has been labeled many things, a virus, a copy, a legendary hero, a maverick, etc. Weil's sense of justice tried to make him believe that he would be labeled as a maverick for harming a human. Zero's long had to wonder what he's fighting for anymore. His own sense of justice? To prove something? No, all along, it hasn't mattered what he's been labeled. He's only ever fought to protect those who believe in him, in who he really is regardless of his past, original purpose, or body. Zero is a hero to those who need him. If an enemy appears to attack those he cares about, he's not going to hesitate to take them down. So freaking cool.
I never noticed until now that the Earth in the background moves higher each second, a subtle indication of the Ragnarok falling

If you're getting close to the time limit of that last fight, the screen will get redder, because of the heat

Not only has that *not* been officially confirmed as such, but Model Z clarifies that he isn't going to die from Ouroboros crashing.

all that was needed is change the game's dialouge's about attacking key positions in neo-arcadia to take down Weil. instead of this stupid constant jabber about area zero.
Ciel's shouting Zero before battle it does gave me helluva goosebumps.
But it makes the perfect way to start the final fight and end this once and for all.
Somewhere in the afterlife, Dr Wily is cackling his brains out at the sheer irony of it all...

I may not have liked the Megaman Zero games as much as Megaman X ones, but my goodness... this game could not have ended on a more epic and tragic note.
Zero went out like a boss. A brilliant ending in the final chapter of the most badass Maverick Hunter of all.

Zero feels like he knows the Dark Elf because she was made from his Maverick Virus. Also, Iris kinda snapped and tried killing Zero for the whole deal about her brother.
In any case, Ciel's a human. Wouldn't be the first reploid-human relationship though. That old reploid Andrew altered his appearance to match his aging wife, plus Neige and Craft were in love with each other.

Ah. Some folks believed the Mother Elf was somehow Iris, including me at one point, so yeah. lol
Ciel managed to lead an armed resistance against the only world power with just civilian reploids until Zero was awakened and developed an energy source that could have potentially stopped the whole conflict if Weil hadn't screwed all that up. To say she's wise beyond her years would be an understatement; I don't think the age difference would even matter when she's mature and strong enough to handle that kind of stress.
The song "Clover" is pretty clearly about Zero's devotion to Ciel and his attempts to stay strong for her. In-game, Zero's last very last words were to tell Ciel to believe in him, and in Z3's ending, he thanks Ciel for her faith in him (as well as presumably reminding him of X's own final words), reiterating that he is Zero. One of the most obvious hints is a female resistance member kissing Zero and asking him to not tell Ciel about it.
Everytime I hear Ciel's scream, I can feel it in my heart.
God damn everything about this is so good. From Weil's voice acting in general to Ragnarok Core leading perfectly into Falling Down to Zero delivering a climactic final blow right as the song ends.
And then that codename, Redeemer. Zero is redeeming himself from his past actions in being the host of the Maverick Virus as well as being the final creation of Dr. Wily, thus redeeming Wily as well. To redeem can also mean to save someone or something from an evil, of which Zero certainly is.
I've probably watched this like over two dozen times. It's just so well done.

Actually I used to play this good xD it's just the result of liking a game so much you become so good at it. I even used to speedrun from any %, Max rank and 100% of the X and Zero games back in that age even being as stylish as possible when playing in front of friends, for most people who spend most of the time only playing one game twice and then leaving it for another seems impossible but anyone can easily become this good if they keep practicing.
To be honest, I'm getting tired of people saying that Zero is still alive right after he sacrificed himself. Just let it go and accept that Zero is gone. Cherish his selfless act to save the world god damn it!
Well...he IS alive in a sense. It's canonically proven. Biometal Model Z in MegaMan ZX is made from Zero's remains and contains his consciousness and spirit.

When "Falling Down" ost kicks in, that's just so badass! Zero is a true hero.
The Voice actor for ciel was amazing since she captured the emotion of everything that was happening make it so authentic.
but then again im not surprised considering this is Rie Tanaka were talking about. at the top of my head i could think a few roles she was amazing at.

Kinda like Lee Everet if you seen the Walking Dead game by telltale. Started with handcuffs, died with handcuffs. Started as a maverick, died as a maverick.
He just decided to execute the law of robotics that shares name with him. And he's totally justified to do it.

Forget Goku, Zero was the orginal golden archetype shonen hero he was introduced as a badass and went out as one too.
If it weren't for Dr. Wily and Ciel's ancestor's efforts, the world of Megaman would of been a bleak future.
Then again it was Wily's very own virus which created Sigma and in turn the Dark Elf which lead to the Elf Wars... Light and Wily... 2 men who's ideals both destroyed and saved Humanity.

A sad but fitting ending for a true hero like Zero. Those voices gave so much life to this scene. Ciel's scream was so deep.

I always love an editor who plays his games so that they seem more like cinematics in a meaningful way.
Zero is the perfect example of something created for evil purposes doesn't necessarily has to follow that path. He chose his own path, the path of good, peace and redeemption.
From my view, I think Zero is the actual representation of what Dr. Wily thruthly is, without his jealousy and envy for Dr. Light. I don't think Dr. Wily is pure evil, he's just a broken man, but Zero, shows the best of Wily and what is supposed to be. This is something that Isoc (Dr. Wily's AI conscience) noticed in Zero back in Megaman X6, that's why he was proud of Zero, to the point that before he left, Zero was able to listen to Wily's voice about how proud he is: "Go go... Zero, you are the strongest robot."
When Zero defeated Omega, he redeemed himself from his past sins. When he defeated Dr. Weil, he redeemed his creator Dr. Wily, because Dr. Weil represented the summary of all of Dr. Wily's past transgressions, frustrations, failures, envy and sins, so by stopping him, not only did he save humanity and reploids, he also saved Dr. Wily's soul. In a way I like to think that, after those events, Dr. Wily is finally at peace becoming friends with Dr. Light again, just like before their rivalry.
I love this interpretation and wholeheartedly agree with it.
I always had a personal thought for a post cut scene after you see Zero's helmet.
A blue light would glow from the edge of the screen. Camera angle shifts, and you see a 'hologram' of Dr. Wily. He looks down at the broken helmet sadly.
A hand rests on his shoulder. He looks up and turns his head to see Dr. Light's hologram, smiling slowly and nodding. Immediately, Dr. Wily frowns, but a long moment later, the frown softens into one of contentment and solace. He simply nods back in return and he looks back down at Zero's helmet.
After that, they fade into nothing.
"Either you die as a hero or live enough to become the villian".
Zero did both by killing his villian self and sacrificing himself for humankind.
Megaman x has its tear jerkers but this.. no way. This had me breathin heavy and hiding myself away so no one saw me trying not to cry. Rest easy zero.
A lot of people giving props to Ciel's VA (and rightfully so) but lets not forget that Dr. Wile's VA did a pretty good job to dude sounds like an absolute psycho who has nothing but contempt for the world and is proud of it, while Zero's VA sounds like a person who's been through so much like losing his gf and best friend he even lost his reason to fight all the way back in X4, giving us that infamous line, what is he fighting for? But as he begins to realise his answer in this moment he decides what he must do. His final act of heroism. You can feel all of that just through the voice acting alone on a freaking ds game WOW!!!

Real men cry at this ending, the true ending of Gunvolt 1, and the ending of Ori And The Will Of The Wisps.

I am gobsmacked by the way you play and edited the scenes here! They are so beautiful. xD This series should definitely be remade, with additional content, bosses, and an alternate playable character, while keeping everything else, intact.

This ending is so much better than, say, Metroid Fusion's ending, which had about the same idea (crashing/exploding space station). But Fusion's final boss was generic, the atmosphere was generic (with the boring Ridley theme playing for nostalgia stuff), the final boss didn't even have it's own theme. You knew it was all scripted, as they wanted to repeat the idea of the Mother Brain fight in Super Metroid (which WAS great).
In Zero 4, you see the walls literally being torn apart by sheer pressure.

This is a finale of the most story-driven and the darkest Mega Man platformer series. The stakes had to be high and it had to end with a bang.
