Just wanted to issue an official statement that the response to this video has been OUTSTANDING! The art for the next episode is almost done, and hopefully it should ship by the end of the week. Thank you, everybody!
@aaronearth1639 I'm kind of surprised that Giadrome has been one of the only answers I've seen more than once, I didn't think more than 3 people remembered it existed in the first place lol
"As a collage-aged artist, I have nothing to my name but pride" got a good laugh out of me. Been there. I REALLY like that first design. The other two look very much like good beginner monsters, but the first one still look like a Velocidrome but actually a filled-out "big" version rather than a scaled-up Velociprey. However... I really like the obvious armored plates of the second design as a clear "don't bother hitting here" marker, which would be good for new players instinctively. Somehow integrating those into the 'drome's tougher hitzones would be great.
The first velocidrome redesign was brilliant. The others felt more like there were in different series but that’s not exactly a bad thing you could imagine your own mhunt region from small to large ecosystem. The pokemon community does it all the time and with art skills like yours I’m sure it’d get views. Very excited to see more of this series honestly kongalala needs some tlc 😂
first design fixed the only issue i have with its weird patty hands, it’s perfect with your improvements. second one is incredible but it fits better as an entirely different monster, still amazing design. third one is like an alatreon’s relative which is funny but also sick, i prefer the original’s vibrant colors better tho. im so glad i found this video in my recommended i’ve been looking for this content for ages
the first design was a glorious Velocidrome, but the other two seemed like they could be their own species (with Prey minions, of course) the yellow one looks like it could be an egg eater with that beak shape, and i kinda got bummed when you made the green turn brown on the third
Well god damn. I'm happy you showed up on my timeline. Personally, I love the second design the most but all three are amazing. Whenever I have trouble designing my own monsters, I need to remember to make a few word prompts to try and focus. Thank you for the reminder!
First, may I just say that the second design for Velocidrome is my favorite and it kind of fixes an issue that I've always had with smaller monsters that I would suggest to keep in mind going forward. The games usually focus on how Monsters hunt but very little is ever said about how some monsters stop from being hunted. Velocidrome, and other similarly sized monsters, stick out to me because I mean, it's a bright blue Dinosaur who lives in a green forest that also houses massive flying fire breathing Wyverns. To me, giving Velocidrome a color scheme that fits with its environment could be a really good reason as to why they aren't on the meal of everything larger than themselves, they stay hidden and take on only what they can before swiftly downing their meals and bolting out of sight before anything bigger comes along. In a world filled with massive element bending behemoths, it's important to remember the little guys and how exactly they aren't out competed by obviously superior creatures. Very well done on the designs and concepts, I can't wait for more episodes on the series!
I'm glad this showed up on my TL because the concept alone has me hooked. My favorite design would have to be the first but the other two are also great. Also this may just be me but "Monster mender" is actually a pretty nifty title if you ask me. You should keep it imo.
I keep imagining the second redesign wearing a brown cloak to compliment its green scales and little ears, it reminds me of Yoda, which is kind of perfect for a monster meant to teach a new hunter the ropes! Truly inspiring stuff.
Love this concept and excited to see more from this series! My only criticisms would be that the second iteration was one-for-one using Royal Ludroths vibrant green and yellow brown sponge-leopard patterning. Not a huge deal but I think in the future it might be good to try and stay away from established monster palettes (atleast 1:1) - the design itself was really well thought out though! Secondly, the third iteration feels a bit too far away from Velocidrome as a monster, feeling more physically in-line with Tzitzi-Ya-Ku with the rounder head. I think staying within the bounds of the slender and sleek proportions of the drome family would make it feel a bit more like Velocidrome. (Though the intention might’ve been to stray from the base design, in which case don’t worry about it!) You’ve got a great naturalistic style and I’m pumped to see what monsters you might have in the pipeline!
big fan of this series concept and i love how design #1 is still Velocidrome just more era-approrpate. not a fan of the other two concepts but that's just because #1 is exactly what my expectations and hopes are for your "Monster Mender" series :) this is a little passion of mine that i don't have the artistic skills to realize, but to make some of the outdated monster designs make more sense ecologically and biologically. for example, i would love to see your take on Diablos (and don't forget Monoblos) and making his digging prowess make sense; Diablos has no reason for wings, doesn't even fly, literally swims through sand... (i'll cut my ramble short here- but love the video love the series and i am subscribing)
Solid video brother. I feel like I’m seeing more and more people try and be MH creators, and honestly I’m all here for it. Despite the incredible success of World, I still feel like the series is “niche,” underrated, or slept on. I think that’s why part of me is hoping (and believing) Wilds will be MHs “Elden Ring” style hit.
Thank ya kindly. The MH content on RUclips has always been kinda lacking in my opinion too, Wilds could be really good for that with the amount of freedom it looks like we're going to get
I've no idea why the algorithm decided I needed to only see this channel now (thousands of hours into varying MH games and tons of videos watched, this should've been on my page as soon as it dropped), but I am so happy it did make that decision anyways! Really loving the channel so far!
I love that they all fit into one art piece in the end, as if they're all just a bunch of good ol pals. If a bunch of good ol pals were pack hunting murderous raptors
The KISS your design acronym is one I take to heart, haha. Just discovered your channel today! I love the format and idea behind this series of yours. As a fellow artist, I look forward to seeing more of your design process!
Absolutely stoked for this series. I'm not big on "MH monsters but in my or X style" but with a breakdown and commentary, this was stellar. The 2nd and 3rd designs I'm not a huge fan of personally, but it's hard to make the standard raptor look like anything else. The 1st design, however, is fantastic. The re-imagining of old designs into basically 5th/6th gen styles is something I'm very excited to see.
The algorithm truly has blessed me this time, love the 1st and 3rd redesigns for Velocidrome and would love to see how you'd interpret the other raptors (Gen, Io, Gia)
Love seeing more than one take when you’re redesigning these monsters, that’s an idea I don’t see that often when I see artists redesigning anything really.
i thought this was gonna be a goofy series because of the thumbnails, but im so happy to see some sweet creature design content! i'm glad the algorithim did its thang, and i hope it does it more for you as you create more content! subbed!
Found your channel by complete chance. but man I love your style, dude. You really breathed a lot of new life to Velocidrome with your first one. The second and third ones are also very charming. I'm hoping for a lot more of these in the future
I'm so glad you're making a series like this! I've spent so much time watching ecology video essays about monster hunter and all the creatures involved, and to find a creator who has the same passion as myself and the talents to do something with it is so exciting. The designs you did throughout the video were amazing, I honestly can't fault them. I think the pattern on the second one is actually really well made, and it lends itself better to ecosystems like savanahs where you'd be finding secretary birds anyway. Overall they were all really impressive, and its clear you've got heaps of talent. I'm really looking forward to your future installments (The name Monster Mender is really cool as well lol)
Doing the whole lot of them is a hell of a task, but I loved the designs that you made in this video, especially that second one, the feathers with those serrated toe claws are awesome, my only real critique is that if you were trying to separate it a bit from Great Maccao, maybe the green and yellow could've been swapped out for something else, but even then that's minor overall, the colours looked great. The first one as well is a very interesting take on what a Velocidrome would look like with modern design sensibilities, especially since the structure of it's hands and feet are very weird, even for back then, especially given Gendrome and Iodrome don't have the weird hands and feet. Glad that Sunbreak remedied that with their redesign, even if 7 fingers per hand is still a bit much. As for a monster I'd suggest for a redo, I always felt that Great Jagras had more potential, I loved some of the concept designs for it, so I'd be interested to see your take. Overall great stuff my friend, and I will wait patiently for the next one.
the humble natureof not expecting yourself to do better than the original creators, but trying anyway is what makes me love this video, and it's sequel. You love the series as a true fan and explore it from a place of imagination and passion for the series, and not because you have some stuckup opinion that you know better. Even if it was the case, sometimes artists make me have a sour taste in my mouth for taking that stance. Exploring concepts as an artist should be about fun, not correction and spite, I look forward to more!
I'm glad that my deep love comes through, I think that might be the most important part. There will be monsters I badmouth later on for sure, but even now, doing analysis on things totally unrelated to them, it helps me understand exactly what I want to see changed about them. My least favorites are monsters whose concepts I really adore, but whose execution frustrates me for any number of reasons, and I think I will have to take care to make sure that comes across when we get to those few
@@indomleon well consider me a subscriber, we all wish a concept was followed through better, sometimes the mainline series, even the most recent ones, fail to capture that. As long as you put the effort in I think you can hold your head up high, I already love all six redesigns you've given as it stands, I look forward to the next! Also. Monster Mender is a fine name lol, perhaps a bit presumptuous sounding as 'fixing' is a charged term among design and art. But I find the first thirty seconds of your videos levels it out.
I feel like these redesigns are in the same vein as the redesigns done with Zelda enemies between games. I appreciate that approach. Keep it up man good stuff
I absolutely love this as an idea for a series and your redesigns kick ass! I love the first design the most as it maintains a lot of the garish charm that Velocidrome has while also updating the anatomy to loon more feasible You definitely earned a sub, keep it up man!
I LOVE all of these, I think you really nailed the monster hunter aesthetic. Hell these look like they could’ve come out of one of the concept books themselves. And as for the last tidbit at 10:20, the third redesign gives me Great Baggi vibes. I think it would make for a really cool arboreal relative to it. It’s mostly the head that does it for me but regardless it’s still an awesome design that would be right at home with the other jungle-goers of the franchise! I’ll definitely be sure to sub and stick around to see what other monsters are next on the list!
The first one goes pretty hard. I have always loved more tame designs and the first just hits spot on for a remake of the Velocidrome👌🏻 Great job dude 😊
Phenomenal job! Discovered you today, this new series looks like one I would love to watch for sure! Keep it up man, the algorithm is assisting you, so abuse that lol
I imagine the last one in a cinematic, you in the forest in a cave with lots of greens mush and trees, then that raptor is running super fast to the hunter just to turn right or left in the last second and literally running to the top of the cave grapping all leafs with its claws and then jump to the hunter, like we see monster do crasy flips and combos so weird, but a 360° in a cave then a melee hit no scope in the hunter face sound SO COOL AND DISRESPECTFULL that is just justice for all velocidrones killed
I so happy i got the chance to fine this gem of a channel. Even tho you just started, with vid just like this. I think you be able to go far. The 3ed one feels like a g rank drome that actually threatening 2ed just look like how 5 gen velocidrome would look like The 1st is an interesting and fun take on the dromes. I genuine love ti see how it armor looks like
Love the idea and the enthusiasm, I checked the subscribers figuring you would have at least like 10k, but dayum. Love how you did three different designs as well can't wait to see more.
The third one is giving me some serious Rock Drake vibes from Ark lol But I love these redesigns! I like the first one the most personally, as I love the original blue color and patterns on Velocidrome. I do think a mix of the three would be perfect though. Adding the armored bits from the second design, and the moveset ideas from the third would be a perfect middle ground. A quick, vibrant raptor that can climb and bounce from the walls, trees and rocks of the zone as it coordinates with its pack would be amazing! I do think adding a moveset in the way I'm imagining it would make Velocidrome have to be bumped up a bit in power level, since I imagine a starter monster like that would be very tough for new players!
HOLY BABEY love this video so much, dunno why but those artworks are scrumptious, hypes up MonHun even more for me also, rrreaaalllyyy like the sharp look on the third one, great design choice💜
I only just found ya, and I ADORE your narration, your humor, and your art style! Honestly, you got me dooling my own version of Velocidrome! It's not all that fancy, keeping all the main features and such, but you really did inspire me to give it a go! c: I'm super expected for a ton of different monsters, I think. I really enjoyed your Kut-Ku design, and I'm excited for you to get to the third gen- outside of elder dragons, Agnaktor is a hard favorite that seems to have forgotten about. >:Y
I like the one that stays true to the original the most, the other designs looks like the variant or deviant of velocidrome, and its good enough to be its own monster.
All thrse designs are great, personally I'm so used to the way V-drome is normally colored, that the other designs feel like separate or new Dromes. I feel like I could totally see the other designs as new monsters. Fantastic work
My favorite was the last one! Like an easier, mini Seregios. I liked the way you described its hunting and fighting moveset. My least favorite was the second one. I think the smallee crest removes too much of its identity, and the color scheme you chose still left it too similar to Maccao. The bare feet and head was smart tho. I would be very happy if Capcom brought him back as your first design!
This is a very cool video! Very interesting designs! I'm glad they got updated in Sunbreak. The only real thing that bothers me about the Sunbreak touch up is the thighs. They aren't dinosaur enough. I've been dissatisfied with some of the Monster Hunter monster designs for a little while but to actually make a video redesigning them is very productive. You've earned a sub!
these are all incredible! you really have an amazing skill at managing to make your art look alive. the first redesign is my favorite, though it could still use the tiniest bit of work! just my take on it lol, only meant for feedback - the ear-holes should realistically be a slight bit further behind the eyes and also be deeper - while i like the meaty paw-claws, it should probably be just like the boney hands sunbreak's velociprey have, as that is more biologically logical - its legs need a bit more muscle, velocidromes should really be built on speed, and have the majority of its muscle mass be in the hind legs and tail - the fan on its back should be extended just enough to come out only a little bit further than its hind legs, the red spikes are a nice touch though! - it might need to be a little bit taller, but that is just a nitpick without too much to base it on. overall; the design is incredible, but only needs the tiniest of adjustments in my eyes!
wow your art is amazing! I've been working on drawing 1 monster each day of the 229 before wilds to get better at digital art but I"m far from where I want to be. I think I"m at 99 working on my 100th today. These drawings are amazing! I enjoy the concept for sure
This seems like it’ll be a fun series! I personally love the second take on Velocidrome the most, but that might be because I’m reminded of Great Maccao so much. It’s also fun to see the potential in how a designer could take the base concept and create something entirely new! I could see Redesign 3 having a Turf War with Tobi Kadachi over tree space. Whenever you get to Astalos, I can’t wait to see where you take his design. Astalos is important to me since he was the reason I decided to get Generations Ultimate on Switch while it was on sale. Why did I want to get his original game so badly? First of all, this was before Sunbreak announced Astalos. Second, I had heard his music and seen his fight played out, but I wanted to experience even just his Low Rank version. Thanks to Astalos being originally exclusive to the Old World, I tried an Old World game and loved it. This then led me to experiencing the exclusive mechanics, monsters, and subspecies of 3U and 4U.
Astalos should be really fun, I love him too. Honestly he might be one of the harder designs to redo, since I think they really nailed him, I'm not sure how I can include all the concepts he embodies in another way
Uhh GREAT Designs (all of them). Of course the are an improvement! The normal old Velocidrome design looks a litle to basic... 🥱 but its fun to bully him In the future I would like to see a rework of Zinogre or Kulve Taroth 😄
I missed the blue on the other redesigns but overall, this was very entertaining! I loved your takes on the classic. My favorite monster is all of them...!! Uh... 👀 I mean .. Kirin and Bazelgeuse, so I look forward to seeing those takes! 🎉 cheers!
Congrats on 100 subscribers!!! Im that most recent one :] you deserve it and so much more for this level of content!! Can't wait to see the next episode eeeee!!!!
I was so focused on the video numbers going up I completely forgot to look at my subscriber count! Thank you and all the others very much, and I'll have more soon, the art for next episode is almost done!

@aaronearth1639 I'm kind of surprised that Giadrome has been one of the only answers I've seen more than once, I didn't think more than 3 people remembered it existed in the first place lol

yes lol. How I got here, stayed bc of his enthusiasm.
True, deserved nonetheless

@@indomleon Hi!

The first one goes pretty hard. I have always loved more tame designs and the first just hits spot on for a remake of the Velocidrome👌🏻 Great job dude 😊
I am glad to have found this. I share similar values in what I enjoy of the series, so I'll be sure to stick around.
really ambitious project, loved this first episode and I look forward to seeing more of it in the future!
As someone who grew up devouring information about animals as well, I completely understand your love for the creatures in Monster Hunter.
Phenomenal job! Discovered you today, this new series looks like one I would love to watch for sure! Keep it up man, the algorithm is assisting you, so abuse that lol
Didn't expect you yo combine them all in the final piece that's really nice!
1:48 just the fact that the original is original doesn't necessarily make it better than the fan made
+1 subscriber, amazing concept !
Finally the algorithm giving us good stuff! Stand proud, Indomleon, you can cook!
I so happy i got the chance to fine this gem of a channel. Even tho you just started, with vid just like this. I think you be able to go far.
The 3ed one feels like a g rank drome that actually threatening
2ed just look like how 5 gen velocidrome would look like
The 1st is an interesting and fun take on the dromes. I genuine love ti see how it armor looks like
Really looking forward to see this become a series. Gets me really inspired to pick up a pen on my own to try some designs. Great work.
Couldn't encourage you to do it more! A creative Fandom is a healthy fandom.
Usually
Love the idea and the enthusiasm, I checked the subscribers figuring you would have at least like 10k, but dayum. Love how you did three different designs as well can't wait to see more.
Love the video! Found time to watch it on my break. I didn't know you were planning 3 designs per. That's a great idea!
Sick redesigns, I can imagine the first one using Kulu Ya Ku's sweeping claw atk and inflicting bleed on you.
The third one is giving me some serious Rock Drake vibes from Ark lol
But I love these redesigns!
HOLY BABEY love this video so much, dunno why but those artworks are scrumptious, hypes up MonHun even more for me
also, rrreaaalllyyy like the sharp look on the third one, great design choice💜
Rewatching this. I gotta say, seeing you draw Great Jaggi, Destroyer of Worlds would be amazing. Maybe just as a one-off, but even so.
This scratches my brainworms in the best possible way.
I only just found ya, and I ADORE your narration, your humor, and your art style! Honestly, you got me dooling my own version of Velocidrome! It's not all that fancy, keeping all the main features and such, but you really did inspire me to give it a go! c:
I'm super expected for a ton of different monsters, I think. I really enjoyed your Kut-Ku design, and I'm excited for you to get to the third gen- outside of elder dragons, Agnaktor is a hard favorite that seems to have forgotten about. >:Y
@@rijolt glad to have more artists getting active
Good video, I liked the 2nd design really good work, btw you should put some tags in the description it kinda helps
0:21 LETS GOOOOOOOO
Thanks, glad you liked it! RUclips has a separate section in the uploader thingie for tags, should I have them in both?
@@indomleonYes, put them in both. At least some of them.
@@indomleonyes
I like the one that stays true to the original the most, the other designs looks like the variant or deviant of velocidrome, and its good enough to be its own monster.
Dear Gog, I want them all.
I think the title is awesome, i discoverd your channel today, i really liked it! pls keep going on!
Hello from Brazil
All thrse designs are great, personally I'm so used to the way V-drome is normally colored, that the other designs feel like separate or new Dromes. I feel like I could totally see the other designs as new monsters. Fantastic work
Great dynamic poses, and I actually quite like the name Monster Mender!
I love your work, really flattered to see you here!
@@indomleon Thanks, man! I look forward to your next video! You got a great sense of humor!
Ma I just stumbled upon this video and I am SO DOWN for a series like this. I'm definitively sticking around!
Great stuff, great idea, looking forward to more creature designs!!!
Congrats on catching the algorithm wave! I’m curious to see further videos in the series.
Awesome stuff! Look forward to seeing your art in the future
Already one of my favorite channels
The algorithm god blessed us. i don't know who you are or when you started this channel. but please GIVE US MORE OF THIS STUFF, FEED US.
bloody brilliant mate. I love that first design. please fix Gypceros, I hate the damn elastic purple dodo.
these are all incredible! you really have an amazing skill at managing to make your art look alive.
the first redesign is my favorite, though it could still use the tiniest bit of work! just my take on it lol, only meant for feedback
- the ear-holes should realistically be a slight bit further behind the eyes and also be deeper
- while i like the meaty paw-claws, it should probably be just like the boney hands sunbreak's velociprey have, as that is more biologically logical
- its legs need a bit more muscle, velocidromes should really be built on speed, and have the majority of its muscle mass be in the hind legs and tail
- the fan on its back should be extended just enough to come out only a little bit further than its hind legs, the red spikes are a nice touch though!
- it might need to be a little bit taller, but that is just a nitpick without too much to base it on.
overall; the design is incredible, but only needs the tiniest of adjustments in my eyes!
The correlation from zoobooks to Monster Hunter makes sense now
I’m so glad this showed up on the algorithm!
I like the designs, especially like the 3rd one. I think you're right it looks like something they could use in the future
Thank you very much
Amazing video. Can't wait for me. The third design reminded me a lot of Bearded Dragons
wow your art is amazing!
Honestly he might be one of the harder designs to redo, since I think they really nailed him, I'm not sure how I can include all the concepts he embodies in another way
man i thought you were a bigger channel! you’re quality is amazing
Uhh GREAT Designs (all of them). Of course the are an improvement!
The normal old Velocidrome design looks a litle to basic... 🥱 but its fun to bully him
In the future I would like to see a rework of Zinogre or Kulve Taroth 😄
Thank you! Kulve should be interesting, playing with what materials she uses for her coat will result in some cool stuff I bet
I eagerly await a Great Jaggi episode. I trust you shall do my lord justice
I plan to, he was my favorite for a while
I missed the blue on the other redesigns but overall, this was very entertaining! I loved your takes on the classic.
My favorite monster is all of them...!! Uh... 👀 I mean .. Kirin and Bazelgeuse, so I look forward to seeing those takes! 🎉 cheers!
Ouuuu I like this! Excited to see Barroth get redesigned
Congrats on the vid blowing up. I just discovered it and can't wait for the rest of the series 👍
Dinosaur Nerd + Monster Hunter Nerd + Art Nerd = Cool Guy
if you can fix the annoying mess that is the Gypceros, you are a certified Monster Mender
More PLZZZ WE NEED A NEW ONE WHEN POSSIBLE UWU.
But seriously, good job man, im wishing for a Gigginox or Magnamalo video from ya.
very nice, excited for a great jaggi one they are my favorite initial monster :)
So happy you showed up on my timeline this was a dope idea ❤
Congrats on 100 subscribers!!! Im that most recent one :] you deserve it and so much more for this level of content!! Can't wait to see the next episode eeeee!!!!
I was so focused on the video numbers going up I completely forgot to look at my subscriber count! Thank you and all the others very much, and I'll have more soon, the art for next episode is almost done!
