Palicos are amazing, those little critters are near immortal, surviving a shipwreck, tanking escaton judgement, sapphire star, fatalis flame attack etc like they're nothing lol
I love the relationship between Humans and Wyverians. It's such a cool twist on the human and elf relationship. Wyverians are experts in both crafting and research. Makes sense they excel at everything since they live long lives and with age comes wisdom. It's why you see most of them do jobs around town or away from any unexplored wilderness. Humans are the risk takers that explore new locations and fight any monsters that are a threat to any town or ecosystem. It's why most of them are hunters or guardsmen. The reason why I love this relationship is because it makes total sense. Wyverians being expert craftsman's create weapons, armors, medicines/drugs, ships, and improve humanity way of life. The only thing Humans can give to the Wyverians that can equal in value is their lives. Humans act as meat shields for Wyverians protecting them from any threats and in exchange for putting their lives on the line Wyverians provide them better equipment to increase their odds of survival because if all the humans die then Wyverians would have to fight their own battle (I know they can be hunters but if you had a thousand years to live it would make sense that you wouldn't take a job with a high ☠️ rate.) Brains (Wyverians) ❤️ Brawn (Humans) Humans are many because they live short lives giving that sense of urgency causing them to breed faster. Wyverians don't breed as fast as humans but they aren't endangered either. Humans have offspring after 20 years while Wyverians reproduce around the hundreds. Humans and Wyverians have the best symbiotic relationship when it comes to humans and elves. Rather than make the same high and mighty snobs who act superior even though they are near extinction they made a version of elves that are thankful towards humans because humans act as meat shields for them. Wyverians are smarter than elves because they found a way to coexist with humans while also putting themselves on top in the social hierarchy. To sum it all up Wyverians are bros and it's no wonder why humans in MH love them.
yeah that's what i liked a lot during my research for the video is how the races have similar feeling to traditional fantasy like wyverians and elves, troverians and dwarves, or chakalakas and goblins etc. I really hope that with wilds on the way and how it has more of a story focus the lore will have some further growth moving forward!
I think the fact that the Guild put Wyverians in the most high-ranking administrative positions was deliberate, even in lore. Wyverians are closer to nature than humans; that, along with their long lives makes them less prone to the common pitfalls that plague humans who have authority, particularly greed...and we all see how that plays out in the real world. If a human were in charge of the Hunter's Guild, I suspect it would be far less concerned with preserving nature...
I agree i think it would be cool to have the option and at least for wyverians it wouldn’t be too difficult, they kind of did it with the wyverian ears in rise though
@@GuildMasterKaitoWyverian ears were available in both world and Rise. I just want to play as a Wyverian flat out. Give me race options in monster hunter lol
@@GuildMasterKaito We also have the Artian armor set in Iceborne with is totally an ancient model of wyverian armour. So it's not far-fetched to imagine the sets being adapted for wyverian use since we have Hinoa & Minoto fighting with us. We can just hope it becomes available
I think Humans in this world also have incredibly long lifespan compared to us. If we take Fugen as example, He took on the calamity in his youth, so around 19-25, and that was 50 years before we debut as a hunter. That means that at around 70 years old, he's still quite the active hunter. The 5th Fleet Commander should also be around that age, but he looks 45 to 50. Still, they seem far from retirement and even further from natural death. Talking about felynes being integrated in society, they are so integreted that they had a no risk clause in their contracts for the 1st and 2nd gens (I'm not sure about the 3rd). If I'm not wrong, there was some piece of lore where, in their contract, it specifies that our palicos don't fight giant monsters (thus, we fought the Shen Garoen and Lao Shan Lung alone). Also, with all the carts we get, they must have pretty wealthy communities.
That's a really good point about the human lifespans it could be due to just the all around nature of the world and how it affects them or the hunters DNA too, also yeah felynes are definetly a big part of the wider society of the world, couldnt imagine the series without them
We can also apreciate the fact that World and Rise (we can also count the 'Legends of the guild' film) gave us more depth to the felynes' and human societies. The lynian tribes in the New World being totally oblivious about human, the lynian expert trying to build relations with them and our palico playing the interpret. The wild felynes in world have their own problems (mainly monsters, and we see that in Rise with Anjanath's intro) and are wary of new or strange things. With Wilds, we can see that felyne and humans have worked so much together and for such a long time that felynes can now speak our langage, but they still speak their own between themselves. In Rise (mostly the Old World), we can see that the wild felynes are more peaceful, but still respond to violence. I think that the human numbers have dwindled In Kamura & Elgado due to their respective calamities. So much that the taming of canynes came as a boon since felynes now work directly as staff. (we are the only hunters to go on the field with either the cat or the pup) We can say that there are less felynes in World since they are fisrt & foremost the partners of the members of each fleet. I'm happy to see how it will evolve in Wilds, but there's also the new humanoid species to be curious about.
I feel like Wyverians being wyvern descendants might just be a myth among them and humans. They've got digitigrade hindlimbs and four-fingered hands, which is the same as Fanged Beasts like Rajang, so I personally think they're the Wyverians' closest relatives.
I could be mistaken, but i was pretty sure the charge blade and switch axe were technology recovered from the ancient civilization and reverse engineered allowing hunters to to use them once more
Its nice seeing someone doing lore videos. I'm surprised you don't have more view or subscribers and the videos are good quality so I'm subscribing I can wait to see more videos in the future.
I wonder if we'll ever get a more sentient race of reptilian/draconic-esqe creatures in MH, there's tons of examples of these in other fantasy worlds, so I'd love to see how capcom and the MH team would handle something like that! Ik wyverians are decendants of wyverns, but I'm referring more to maybe sentient elder dragons or something crazy like that lol
i could see like a sentient elder dragon that in a game we help it and it sees the good in mortals and that they have changed since the ancient civilization to respect nature and maybe helps with a particular large threat? Could also tie in with how riders have such powerful bonds with their monsters too and have been able to live in harmony
Argosy Captain because when I only played 3 ultimate he was the only human sized wyvernian and the excitement of getting new decorations for my house as it was lonely on the 3ds version of the game
Same. I thought they were just humans or a subspecies of wyverians, not their own race. Very interesting and new stuff I learned today about Monster Hunter.
the zinogre and brachydios are the first two for those, its a mix of ecology, lore, and tips and tricks from a guild/hunter perspective, every monster from the main series and frontier will be getting a video so stay tuned, mizutsune will be sooner than later as well!
Thanks for watching, i will do that i plan to give fatalis a detailed video including it’s many variants, i want to do it justice since its like the main black dragon of the series, and the map video will definitely be in the works!
The problem with the old world map is that for very few areas is it actually said where they are. All we have is the shape of the continents thanks to a map from mh2 (i think?) that stayed in the series up to mhgu. We know very few things about it. We know the names of the main regions, the location and shape of some mountain ranges, and the locations of some maps and villages. Most of what you want to know is actually up to personnal interpretation.
You forgot to mention that wyverians are also digitigrade, meaning they stand and walk on their toes, as opposed to on the soles of their feet like in plantigrade humans. Though it is more pronounced in older wyverians. Younger ones seem to have feet that look almost human, especially in thick boots/leggings, but if you look hard enough you can still see it.
I would disagree with some of this. Humans are actually better blacksmiths, but because of the ancient civilisation incident the wyvernians now control the level of tech, which is for the best. Most of the legendary smiths are human, the switch axe and charge blade are rediscovered weapons from ancient times. The wyvernians are watching over and guiding the humans (and themselves) to ensure they don't forget the balance of nature once again and cause the second great dragon war which could lead to extinction.
I dont think that humans cant be great blacksmiths but its noted alot how wyverians are experts when it comes to crafting and science but that doesn’t mean the other races cant be or arnt either, i think it also depends on the area and population too
@@GuildMasterKaito Oh i agree wyvernians are experts, i think i should have worded it like humans have more potential for the craft but wyvernians have the knowledge of the craft so they will be better in the general but the peak is hit by the humans more often as the finite life span pushing them to improve more, where as wyvernians have the near infinite life span so can focus on each step to a higher degree of polish. But i will say i personally don't trust the guild, they are shady at times, like with gogmosios, they state it come from the forbidden poisonous marsh but the whole game gives you a run up to its arrival, or at least heavy implies/hints that it is from a cave in the mountains.
