I like that one press open system, but should I be worried about it being accidentally open on a bumpy road? Is there any locking mechanism that does not allow one press knob to open the rack? No you shouldn't be worried about it accidentally opening. Kuat puts their racks through intense stress conditions to ensure the product quality. From what I can tell there is no lock to prevent someone from intentionally pressing the knob. Rack will be available approximately fall of 2022 (no confirmation yet). Yes, technically you can use the Piston on the Pivot but may be limited in weight capacity (TBD).
Gimics extra weight. We're is the ramp? We now have electric bikes now. One thing here I like the tire holders. Is their straps for tires. Your other has one strap an one tire hook? The last thing we want is damage to expensive electric bikes.
The ramp is an additional item that you install once your loading or unloading your ebike. Take a look at the 2:49 mark on the video. There is no need for tire straps on the Kuat Piston because it's new design holds both front and rear tires with it's adjustable tire slides. The Kuat Piston also offers Zero contact on the bike frame so you can safely carry your expensive bikes without worry.
The Kuat Piston won't fit the Corolla or most sedan because it requires a 2 inch receiver. However there are many other models that will fit the Corolla like the Sherpa or the NV 2.0 both made by Kuat and many other brands like Thule and Swagman have great models that work for small sedans.
@@miamihitches FYI We do offer the Piston Pro X in a 1.25" version, great for vehicles with smaller hitch receives! All of Küat racks come in either a 2" dedicated size or a 1.25" size. Perfect for any vehicle, any size!

Besides the cable is there anything else to secure this bike? this is way to easy to get stolen if your sitting in traffic without cable. 🤷♂️
As we know it now, the cable is the only option to lock up the bikes.
Is there a version of this Piston Pro X like the Kuat NV 2.0 with the feature to do minor maintenance on your bike?
At the moment the trail doc is only offered on the Kuat NV 2.0 model. The piston does not have this feature.

What about for corolla cars? Rack for cars?
