Having just watched the WP Tuts video, I've deleted my previous comments that were negative due to the Gutenberg style UI. While I don't like Gutenberg, this is a definite step up from what we have now. I'm sure it's taken a lot of time and effort to get it to this stage. You are to be commended for listening to your user base and working so hard to make improvements. Thank you. I will give this a try once the final version lands.
Great idea to work on UX and UI because it is where Meta Box is (kind of) behind their competitors like ACF. I need to test the new version but as a first impression, I am really not a big fan of a Gutenberg UX/UI (which is the worst of WP ecosystem in my opinion). I prefer clean interface.
Gutenberg is definitely not great for design and styling, but in my opinion, the implementation for this specific case, ie: structured data and content, is absolutely flawless. Can’t wait to try it. I’d love a similar, unified approach for creating post types, taxonomies, relationships, etc.
We always strive to balance the following factors: outstanding features, an intuitive interface, a convenient user experience, maximum work efficiency, and optimal performance. And don't worry, the performance won’t be affected.
I just woke up to find this and this looks amazing. Massive overhauls like this is why you're the best. I have a question. Will this be with the [Core Library + AIO] or will it be like Meta Box Lite where only one plugin is required? I'm asking because I initially thought Meta Box Lite had to be used with the Core Library before hearing of other people using it just fine without the Core Library.
After fixing all the errors and optimizing the user experience, we will release the official one. All versions that include Meta Box Builder will adopt this new interface, including both Meta Box Lite and Meta Box AIO. Currently, Meta Box Lite can be used independently since it already includes the core, so you don’t need to install anything additional. To make everything convenient for users, we are planning to integrate the core into AIO. When this is implemented, you won’t need to install the core separately anymore as well. We are actively working on this plan. What do you think?
@@MetaBoxWP This looks very good and intuitive. Also I love the idea to integrate the core into AIO, it just makes it a little easier to install :-) Hopefully after this step the MetaBox Relationships will receive the same love 😃 Maybe keep the existing free Relationship Extension and add an advanced or pro version for AIO users. What I would love to see there are two things: 1. when selecting related items, it is possible to select the same item twice or more times, which can be confusing for users, specially if there are a lot of related items. 2. an option to display a list of the related items and having there an option to select the custom fields associated with that item. As an example if you have an item with the same name but different sizes like Jasmin Rice in 1kg, 2kg, 5kg packages, then this could be easy visible for the users. I love MetaBox and use it wherever I don't have to deal with the above mentioned points and unfortunately have to resort to Toolbox or JetEngine.
Yes, please! Also one big important thing is to give us more control over updating the plugin. Some things break with the update (see support forum). Would be good to have update behaviour be like all other wordpress plugins. You are doing great!!!
The new interface looks pretty cool but I would like to see you work on the UX, for starters the outline on the input fields are way too dark, most modern applications use lighter grays and shadows, this would make it look slick without looking out of place from the Wordpress interface.
@@MetaBoxWP Not to be a stick in the mud, but I prefer it to match the Gutenberg UI (like it is). Maybe there could be a new Meta Box Extension for menu-style where you could change the colors for those who want it?
Curious... how will this work for those of us who disable the Gutenberg code in WordPress in favour of the classic views? Will this be compatible with the classic mode too or does it require Gutenberg styling to be active as well? Personally I'm not a fan of the Gutenberg interface but if this can somehow work for those who have outright disabled Gutenberg, then it'd be awesome! :-)
Yes, Meta Box Builder is an independent plugin, so it still works well when you disable Gutenberg. You can try it and share your thoughts with us. Any comment is appreciated.
We try to give the native feel, but make it more modern. If you don't like it, you can tell us what do you like. That's why we released the Alpha version. Any comment is appreciated.
I can't wait to try this! Great job!
Fantastic 👍I look forward to trying it.
Wow, this looks amazing! Great work team -- can't wait to try it out.
Yes, we're looking forward to receiving your feedback.

Awesome! Thank you!
This looks greate, I've been waiting for a UI refreash that feels more native to the block editor.
Thanks, we're looking forward to your feedback about UX, too
Wow! very excited to test it :)
We will also be interested in all of your comments about it. Share them with us after testing
I am pleasantly surprised, excellent performance, this will help us a lot ❤
Thank you, don't forget to share your thoughts with us after trying, we really appreciate

Love how fast the current MB backend is, hope this does not introduce any slowness whatsoever.

Thanks for your suggestion. MB Relationships and MB Views are also in our improvement plan. We'll try our best to release them as soon as possible.

@@MetaBoxWP Thanks. But I was wondering if you would integrate the Core Library with AIO like you did with Lite. So that you only need one plugin.
Love the idea of like part of WP, no funny color, etc.
We really want to listen to your comment about your experience with it. Thank you

Will this be affected if we completely disable Gutenberg?
No, it is completely independent of Gutenberg.
Will this be available on MetaBox Lite as well?
Yes, it will, but you just can try it via download code now. It will be available on Meta Box Lite when we release the official version
