Considering that Bill's real life son Ennis overcame dyslexia that Bill and Camille weren't aware of, I loved the arc for Theo's character. Breaks my heart for their family how he was senselessly murdered...he was going to do great things for people.
I still love this show, despite all the stuff Cosby did back then. The fact that we loved this show so much, I feel as if it was a part of my childhood so I can't help but to still love it. Future generations probably won't agree though. Hopefully they will see it and say we may be flawed human beings but still produce great beauty and hopefully the work can do some good on its own.
Even watching this episode it really didn't feel like it was the last episode. Like most of times it has a sad ending, but The Cosby show kept it upbeat and positive.
The eighties began to end when Family Ties and Miami Vice went off but it wasn't official till The Cosby Show, Growing Pains, Hunter, Cheers, Who's The Boss? And The Golden Girls said goodbye. The Cosby Show is still one of the greatest and most successful tv shows of all time! And it definitely is still the most successful sitcom with a Black cast ever with Sanford and Son coming in second
@@ToLovelyJesus I never liked Good Times.. James Evans is cool and a man to look up too but Good Times didn't do it for me.. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is my favorite..
I remember watching a rerun of the final episode some years ago, and noticed on the end credits what looked to be a gag in which Claire rang the newly fixed doorbell and gets electrocuted. I figured that's what happened because she was wearing a wig that stuck straight up and steam was coming from it. Since the episode I saw was a rerun, this scene must have been cut out, but could still be seen on the end credits of the episode. Does anyone remember this? I have been trying to find this scene for years.
I was an average Cosby Show watcher. I remember when the final episode was to be shown, but it was postponed because of the Los Angeles Riots. In all the confusion, I never found out when it was to be reshown, so I never got to see it. At the time, I worked nights, so I had TV shows recorded on the VCR.
This show has done so much to not only the black community but imho many many teenagers growing up at that time that I was so sad when I heard what Bill had done in real life. Took me quite some time to decouple the show from the person.
That’s funny I was just looking at that. I agree like with Thelma or Michael graduation or moving somewhere due to everyone working & doing better instead of the fantasy of Keith’s leg healing miraculously etc…then again when u look over the entire span of Good Times it realllly went off the rails after James “died” anyway. Remember Carl lol? Like what was that. Then mysterious disappearances from Esther & JJ…bringing in Penny (classic jumping shark bring in a kid) that was kinda cool tho….it was more James random dying & everyone just moved on like he was never there & weird storylines afterward.
@@tinajeppesen5948yeah I always thought the last episode was too unrealistic and random too lol. I feel like had James not been killed off not only would the show lasted longer but we could've got a much more fitting and believable finale. The Cosby Show however had a perfect finale.
Here's a fun fact. Albert Einstein would let Marian Anderson stay with him when she came to town. His Best Friend was a Nobel Prize Winning Physicist Max Born whose Granddaughter is Olivia Newton-John. When Her Big Brother Hugh wanted to go to Ormond College, The Harvard Of Australia where their Father was a Dean, he was told by their Father Brinley aka "Brin" if you want to go to this School, fine so be it but don't expect me to help you, do it with you're own steam and work." He did and he became not only a Doctor but one of Australia's Top Researchers for Cancer. Sadly Brin died of Cancer the very same day Olivia found out she had Cancer for the First Time.
Don't want to come across as rude but you do know he is in jail now & even if he wasn't & he never did what he was accused of he has nothing to do with this page.
I’m watching it now. It’s not hard. My love for the show and characters remain . Except there’s a little of sadness because future generations may not be exposed to this wonderful series.

Final episodes are heart wrenching in real life. You grow up with TV characters . 😢

The fact that the Show's still beloved and popular in spite of what happened proves that the legacy is bigger than one person.
This show,Different World,Living Single and Amen had the best last episode endings!

I really like the way the show ended. It was reflective, but not too sad.

Today marks thirty years to the day this episode aired in the United States, how times have moved on since then! 🤔
