My favorite duo is the new parent or some innocent guy who's never considered kids, who just found some feral orphan in a Walmart dumpster and just loves it to the fullest

First one is Kirby and Metaknight, Cinderpelt and Yellowfang, and could have been Apple Bloom and Zecora. Second one is Mabel and Dipper, maybe Kim Possible’s twin brothers, and (in my personal interpretation) Timmy and Chloe from Fairly OddParents. Third is also Dipper and Mabel. And while this is genderbent, Eda and Luz fit the fourth to a T. Some dynamics I love are the grumpy teen and the kids their take on as younger siblings, which I am trying to write currently with Vicky from FOP getting a redemption arc and accidentally becoming a halfway decent sister to Timmy in the process. Touchy-feely friends/family like Luz is with most people. It soothes the touch starvation. The people who may very well have not platonic feelings for each other, but choose to just be friends regardless. Or exs to friends. It’s just nice to disprove the idea that romantic feelings require follow through or they mean a friendship is automatically tainted and unsalvageable. Another is just girl and boy best friends (bonus points if they are either straight or bi-adjacent) this is just something I like specifically because the idea you can’t be friends with someone who you could hypothetically be attracted to is annoying and this combats it. The funny thing is, I also love gay lesbian solidarity (one duo I absolutely adore: Bruce and Magnolia May, two MLP OCs are exactly that) and I also love seeing girls and guys being supportive of each other too, but they bring their own benefits.
