Theirs sounds like the Simon & Schuster Klingon Dictionary and Audio Tape. I had it and learnt a few phrases from it. Seeing as it was written by the guy who created the Klingon language who is a known linguist I'm gonna say his is the official version.

I found it hilarious as well... but then I had a flashback to a friends then gf about 20 years ago when he caught her cheating red handed after he'd been tipped off about it, she basicly said the exact same thing Penny did and got pissed at him for not trusting her.
I love Raj's stance on it, "I'm not really a part of this, so I'm just going to dig in" lol. He got free dinner and a show! XD That "Dammit" in Klingon was priceless as well.

I guess the kids from the PBS Kids show “Zoom” aren’t the only people that are so fluent with the ubbi dubbi language because now we know that Amy and Penny are fluent with it also. Good times! 😂

@@chrisspross3217 it's not using its own words, it's adding/changing vowels or something to make it different. That's why the words sound similar but off.
You can use it with any language and any word as a base and follows only a few easy substitution rules.
A new language brings in its own words and maybe probably even its own sentence structure. Ubbi dubbi doesn't do that and you don't need to learn new words, just the rules

This was one of the greatest scenes in the entire series. Even though it's a mess up cause Amy's language that she teaches Penny back in Season 5 was actually called "Op" which was different from Ubbi Dubbi, but similar to it.
I know right? If they used it Op that would’ve been an awesome throw back. Though maybe they didn’t use it because Amy also taught Sheldon her own made up languange

@@celinab712 Their pronouncation isn't very good. My Klingon vocabulary is quite small so far, but I understand the fonetics. tlh is pronounced like ttle in bottle, but you have to elongate the l sound, so it almost sounds like hissing.

Ubbi Dubbi reminds me of a "language" my family had with each other when i was a kid. It was basically putting the b in the front of every Cantonese word. We called it the B language. We'd use it at a public dinner when me and my sister want to go and ask my mom when we are leaving so we're not "impolite"

Hey, that reminds me of the language my brother and I made up with our dad. It's called the Zee language. You basically put z as the first letter of each word and Zou zar zood zou zow.

My first watch of this episode almost had me crying with laughter during this exchange. The Klingon is funny to begin with, but adding Ubbi Dubbi (which I remember from weekday afternoon PBS airings of Zoom in the 1970's) to this scene made it completely hilarious. I watched the episode again last night on HBO Max, and it's still brilliant ... the writing and the performances.

The fact that Penny is getting rid of Leonard's meaningful possessions without his knowledge or consent is pure disrespect. You don't have to like what your husband likes but to go so far as to get rid of them is utter disrespect and even admitted she wouldn't stop which of course pissed Leonard off. That is a big problem. Look at the face she makes when Leonard noticed the Batman keychain went missing. If you still believe that Penny is a loving wife and all that, you're sorely mistaken and blind and need some reevaluation. I'm not married but this is NOT what a wife should do.
Yeah, she's terrible for doing this. I have a collection of old, but still working computer gpus, motherboards, ram modules, cases and the like, neatly arramged on shelves and I couldn't imagine if my girlfriend would simply throw them out. No 1ucking way.
Agree, the boy I love has a Marvel collection of many different stuff and I just admire how proud he is of having it. I would never get rid of any of his things.

I love this scene, since it was one of the lesser comedy moments in the show that they didn't milk out. In most other scenes they pushed jokes so far until they would almost break and become no longer funny.
This was unique and a genius performance in the art of linguistics. Loved it! 😂
