      Me and my cuz always had the Kobe vs lebron argument…at the rim kobe mid range Kobe free throws Kobe 3ball Kobe handles Kobe clutch factor Kobe lebron has blocking rebounding and passing I’ll give em those but the pg is supposed to pass and the pf and c gotta rebound if lebron was 6’2 he wouldn’t be in the league he can’t dribble or shoot free throws he’s a center in a small forward body…most importantly Kobe wouldn’t lose to dirk if he was on the heat instead of lebron bet my life on it

      Just shut up with that. The impact he had was on his wife and kids. Kobe wouldn't know the difference between you and a bag of rice if he were alive. Pathetic

    I’m from Boston and obviously all Boston sports fan. I loved Kobe when he first came to the league when I young, but then I succumbed to the Celtics v. Lakers rivalry. Because of that, I pretty much hated Kobe for most of his career strictly because he was a Laker great.
    The moment Kobe retired, I opened up and started to learn about his craft. Unbelievable what I discovered and realized how crazy nice and good of a person he was; even with all that fame and perception about him.
    My only regret is not following him more closely sooner. He’s the only “celebrity” I’ve ever cried over. Still can’t believe Kobe’s not with us anymore. Long live mamba mentality

      This sounds like me coming from a Spurs fan. Loved him as a kid. Huge part of me loving basketball today. Had his poster on my wall, then I realized he's a rival and started to kinda hate on him. Maybe not Celtics type hate but it was there. Def the only celeb I shed tears for. MAMBA FOREVER!

    Kobe was multi faceted, played many years in the NBA, started as a raw talented rookie, learned the NBA game, won championships and accomplished a lot of things off the court. But deep inside he never lost the joy of the game. The moment when he jumped on the scorers table when they won the championship and posed for the fans, showing appreciation for the fans. Also the moment when he tore his Achilles's and limped to the free throw line and made the 2 shots, he was already a 5 time NBA champ and a sure hall of famer. He didn't have to try to shoot the free throws but the tough kid from Philly was still inside him and there was no stopping the Black Mamba.

    I am a girl from Philippines that loves sports most especially basketball. I will never forget that day in the morning i was still sleeping in my room and got up when i heard my brother telling something to my parents, then i found out that Kobe died from helicopter crash. I couldn't believe what he said i thought he was just joking by reading a fake news.. then he said it's true.. I suddenly cried loudly.. I couldn't believe myself crying about it cos I was still young when Kobe played basketball, only his last years in basketball i was able to watch him... but I cried like I've known him for so long. Maybe it's the impact, his impact towards people and me. He's one of the most competitive players while being a great human being with so much love and care for others. We all will leave this world too but Kobe is forever a legend.❤

    Denzel,
    The statue of Kobe they unveiled was from his 666th game where he scored 81 points. 8+1=9
    6+6+6=18 (9)
    Yesterday date
    2/8/2024 (2+8+2+2+4) equals 18(9) like the Divine Nine. Saturn worship
    *Saturn = 93/42
    *Black History Month = 93
    2/8/24 was the 39th day of year.
    Super Bowl is on the 42nd day of year. 2/11/24
    On the Statue it reads
    *Kobe Bean Bryant = 81/54
    Kobe Bryant = 58/157/41
    *Died @ age of 41
    Freemasonry = 58
    Like Super Bowl 58
    *Super Bowl = 41
    Lakers are definitely into Gematria
    The Ancient Science of calculating words based on numerical values from Babylonian times.
    A=1, B=2, C=3 etc.
    *Gianna Bryant = 126/54 like 1/26
    #Thelema93 = 157

    It is smart to have a statue for the 81 points game because it is so fitting Kobe. He wants to enshrine success not just personal fandom going through the motions. And this is a record, a historical record event.
    Even in 200 years people could say "oh someone scored 81 points in a game like that and it stood as the most (or second most) scoring game for 18 years (or more) so it was an important game for ... oh a champion who won 5 rings and died young... I can see how special he must have been if he scored 81 points let's see what else he did .." it opens up a conversation. It's a statue of a storyteller. Kobe was a story teller. He didnt know he would die so tragically but he had a sense for humanity and like Kareem said here for history. Very smart.
