Amazing cover with some of your own flourishes. Full credit to David Stone, who helped Blackmore write the solo.. He helped with the arpeggios etc. One of Blackmore's finest playing moments - his execution is sublime. IMO this beats any modern day shredder hands down.
Yes. This is one of my all-time favorite Ritchie solos. The dramatic chord modulations are very complex for the time. Interesting to hear that Stone contributed those parts, I'm not surprised. Ritchie himself did a stunning job with the solo, maneuvering those classical changes with all the grace of a Prima Ballerina. It'd be interesting to learn how the tracking for this solo went down.
David Stone constructed the arrangement and changes in time. Blackmore's interpretive feelings manifest in an epic solo. A top five solo. Superbly done by the author. Hats off, man.
🌈 BLACKMORE's composition is absolutely AMAZING ... all the guitar parts, the solo .. my favorite solo of all time. Imo it's a MASTERPIECE ! RONNIE JAMES DIO awesome ! The whole band in top form. GREAT COVER 👏👏 YOU NAILED IT ! EXCELLENT !
You are so welcome Jeremie. Thank you. I'm glad you found the gear info useful. Bonus: if anyone feels that my tone is bad, now they know exactly which gear and FX to avoid ;-)
Great epic song!!! The endless flowing guitar solo is a fantastic piece to study the composition in a constantly changing tone, but without loosing the mystic atmosphere, the sense and feeling. Very impressive and imaginative...almost like a hellish cobra dance...It is a fabulous musical lesson. Well done, my friend!!! Congratulations and thanks for another amaaaazing work!!!😀
one of my favorite solo of Ritchie of all time, another time you made a killer job, best guitar solos from Sweden , so good to see and listen ....thanks again from Canada ....
I am blown away by Peter's virtuoso talent. His guitar playing contains everything you would want or need on the world stage. Very good selection of solos to feature.
Everything is very accurate. The stretching of the sound strings is full of emotion similar to Blackmore. Beyond the complexity of the solo, the ability to cast emotion is the true greatness of Blackmore (related to his background in playing the blues). Well done to you, you recreated the solo in an inspiring way. Everyone should try to hear Malmstein play the blues and you will understand how barren and emotionless it is.
Hello Peter. I have been absent from the RUclipss for a bit, so I have had some catching up to do. What can I say...another amazing performance and interpretation. You truly inspire me to practice and improve my skills. Can't wait to see and hear what you are working on next. Keep up the great work, and I am wishing you all the best. Cheers, John S
Seriously I thought that the solo part is very impossible to play except by Mr. Blackmore himself. You blew my mind…..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏 its so complex but you make it look like a ride in the park….simple awesome and worth watching many times. Just wondering what if the solo is played in Yngwie style..
Thanks! It's not too impossible once you understand the positions Blackmore uses when changing keys. I agree yngwie-style could be cool, the chord changes are really epic. Possibly Yngwie did this one on his old cover CD ... I can't remember
It is Impossible to Duplicate...Even by Blackmore Himself since THEY ALL came to Him Spontaneously(save Highway Star Solo)! Here's a Guy that Comes Pretty Close but Still sounds and looks like He suffers from Arthritis Doing it. Which demonstrates Time and again it's Much Harder to Play with Space, Feeling, Syncopation and Soul...than it is 200mph !😊
I personally hear more Uli than Ritchie in YJM. But yes, every accomplished musician borrows and steals something. As the saying goes, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue ...
Hi Peter, I recently discovered your performances and they are out of this world. I was wondering if you would be willing to open online courses. I don't know if you have studied music formally or are self-taught; in any case, I would be willing to learn from you!
I was originally going to do that, but then I realized it wouldn't really be right to start off a known Blackmore epic with a bunch of legato tapping and string skipping sweeps, haha. That's just wrong man ... So I skipped that
Fantastic playing man! Loving all your covers! May i ask what pickup you’re using in the bridge position? I’ve been looking at dimarzio rails but not sure what model to get yet
There are 2 songs I would love for you to cover I rarely hear anyone play these like I know you could Diary of a Madman-Randy Rhoads and La Villa Strangiato ( The Exit Stage Left Version ) Alex Lifeson
Fantastic cover as expected! lol I'd love to know how Blackmore/Stone came up with that mad 'bridge'? section? Chord changes and the lead play that i could never learn in a million years.
Hi Peter. New subscriber to your channel (how could i have missed it...) Apologies if you have already answered this, but could i ask the radius of the fretboard on your strat please (i read somewhere it is a bit of a frankenstein). Thank you for some incredibly accurate and engaging covers. Suoerb.
You even captured the rakey, woodey, poor-timing clumsiness. I imagine you could inadvertently technically improve on this by playing it too smoothly and lose the tension of the original. When I listened to this a lot some 40 years ago I felt RB was the greatest guitar player on the planet. Thanks for demistifying this part. Really impressive.
Aj aj! Poor Ritchie, let's hope he doesn't read your review of his playing ;-) But seriously, RB solos are demanding & I enjoy the challenge. True, if you are a schooled player you always risk playing RB too cleanly. I'll let others to decide whether I am or not. Cheers
I just blast this as loud as possible let the whole fuckin city hear real music
another brillant work for this Rainbow cover !!
Thank you very much Antoine. I try!
❤ awesome brother 🤘
Wow...just...wow...what a fantastic job. That's one of my all time faves. Thanks for sharing 🍺🍺🍺😉🤘🙏💚
You're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it
Amazingly spot on!! It's like I'm watching the man himself from back then! Very well done!!!

Well done Peter, perfect as always… Thank you also for all the details about the gear & stuff you used, much appreciated

Great work covering this song. Love it!

@@ClassicSoloSpotlight ....it's a pleasure....
Awesome song, great job!
This so .. so .. so good .. I'm listening to it 3 times in a row 😂
Great cover! I'm most impressed by the effortless switching between bridge and neck pickups. Every lick and riff was given special care!!!
I am blown away by Peter's virtuoso talent. His guitar playing contains everything you would want or need on the world stage. Very good selection of solos to feature.
So good man,one of my favourites songs of all time ,Rainbow with Ronnie was top.Great cover man👍
Thanks mate
With the upstrokes like Blackmore! What an amazing cover Peter🤘🏻
Enjoyed this! favorite track from my favorite Rainbow album. Nailed it.
Thanks mate
It is just perfect. Bravo!
Thanks mate
Thank you
Its superb
Wonderful
Very nice!!
Awesome!!!!!!!
This song in yngwie's version is taken to another level! beautiful master
Glad you liked it. I did sneak in a tiny bit of Yng in there
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight that shredding in before the introduction to the riff was fenomenal
I don't think so. Yngwie actually destroyed the essence of Rich Blackmore's work. Regardless, the cover version is excellent
Blackmore had to solo over 3 separate sections in studio and even Malmsteen struggles with this, very complex, well done sir!!
Fantastic as always, congrats !!!
Thank you my good fellow
Amazing, thank you!
Love this brother. I’ve subscribed to you. Fantastic talent
Thank you for that brother
Your movement is so fluid. Great cover.
Very cool!
Awesome!
Perfect as usual 😊
that coil switch was amazing
Fantastic

Satan vad bra! Du fördjupar min redan gränslösa beundran för Blackmore. Fantastiskt spelat!
Tackar för detta. Alltid kul att höra!
WOW!❤
WOW!
What a fantastic cover have a wonderful day also what is your favorite year from the 2010s ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊

🤘😎🤘
Amazing as always . It would be cool if you do an Alcatraz song like Bigfoot or something on that album. 🤘
That's a cool suggestion. I'll keep it in mind
Super
Excellent cover! It's really clear to see that Yngwie borrowed a ton of ideas from Ritchie Blackmore and Uli Roth to form his playing style...
You could have played the keyboard intro on guitar, because it sounds crazy, great song
I was originally going to do that, but then I realized it wouldn't really be right to start off a known Blackmore epic with a bunch of legato tapping and string skipping sweeps, haha. That's just wrong man ... So I skipped that
classic Ritchie "snakecharmer" vibe
The good ol' Hungarian minor
insane
Fantastic playing man! Loving all your covers! May i ask what pickup you’re using in the bridge position? I’ve been looking at dimarzio rails but not sure what model to get yet
This fella is extremely good , he needs to show his face as I think it may be Richie himself ✌️
👏
Damn man..................................
✨🏆 May I Suggest The World Anthem by Frank Marino .... Or I'm a King Bee . ☮️✨🇨🇦

Indeed. It's Ritchie at his peak
💥🔥🎸🎸🎸🎸💥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🤘🤝🎼
Can you play " All Night Long" by Rainbow?
Yeah, I love that riff. And the video is so funny
I think a lot of modern metal has taken something from these riffs.
Hey man , super sound Strat . What is the pickup on the bridge? 👍
Dimarzio pro track
Finger work same as professor YJM. 👍
Du är så bra att jag inte kan låta bli att önska en video framöver. Vad sägs om att göra en cover på Spotlight Kid?
Jag sätter den på önskelistan så får vi se om låten får fler röster ;-)

Apologies if you have already answered this, but could i ask the radius of the fretboard on your strat please (i read somewhere it is a bit of a frankenstein). No problem. Both my strats have American standard "modern C" 9.5 necks, circa 2007-2010. Cheers
Thank you very much indeed Peter.
Hello, could you please tell me which pickup is in the neck position of the guitar?
Stock Fender single coil
You should cover forbidden city by marty freidman
I trust the Black Knight himself and also the Man on the Silver Mountain would be happy.
String gauge?
Regular 9-42s
🤌🏼🤙❤️🔥🧿🥃
Practice practice and you can play like this kids 🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼
