Maneuvering is the answer. By maneuvering I mean speeding up while hopping onto the wave and slowing down while going down the wave. Also there are corridors in between the waves, one should be very present there to be able to spot them. With this very situation in the video, in my opinion nothing terrible happened if the driver and passengers weren't hurt other than got scared. For the driver, it should be a lesson that while driving a boat in a wavy sea he should lock the door to the deck.
Center consoles and many other ocean boats are open bow. Please explain what you mean. I’ve been on my open bow boats in rough water and have never felt like this would be a problem. Im probably not understanding though.

Once he took on water, then power up and get that water to the aft, and let the bilge pumps do their job, or the aft deck drainage let it roll out. I think at this point, he's trying to keep his passengers from knowing he's soiled himself.

The boat will jump wave to wave, with the bow up in the air and the boat almost on plane half the time. People say to trim up, I’d advise against that. Learn throttle control, trim down and have fun. Captain didn’t have his boat trimmed for the conditions and he had two crash test dummies up front where the extra weight helped keep the bow down.
He didn't have enough thrust for trim to make a difference.

@@FreeRadicals305 South Africa. No boat is allowed out to sea without a seaworthy certificate from our Sea Rescue Institute(kind of our version of coast guard). The boat here we would call a "Dam boat" as in they are literally only allowed in Dams and lakes.
