Thanks for the demo! Wonderful kickdrum mic! I wanted to buy Sennheiser E602, but borrowed B52A instead from a friend and was very impressed by the sound.. Amazing 😊❤️
Thanks Alex looking to purchase a Beta 52 currently using a Roland bass drum trigger and a TM2 brain in have spent 52 years entertaining and your information was very helpful what is your opinion of the Roland bass drum trigger?
@@pedroahets I bought one and I've gotten good results so far. Depending on how you tune the bass drum and where you place the mic, you can get a jazz bass drum sound for sure.
I think mines broken. Last gig the signal was redeculously hot but only in the highs... it was clipping the whole time but there was no low end. I just tested it now and it's gone back to normal, I checked the cables and they work fine
It's not unusual for these mics. I have one that was treated well and not used much. The diaphragm separated from the coil... It was fine one day and busted the next. I didn't drop it. I've heard of quite a few doing this. Quality control issues. I won't be buying another one.
@@danielhughes5250 I actually swapped to a Audix D6 and its incredible...much clearer in the highs too and sturdy. I will never buy shure drum mics again
Treat these like an egg. Pros use them because they sound great and can afford them. If you bump or drop it , they will fall apart. $200 down the toilet. Sorry “Shure” but it’s true. You gotta BIG name but that’s it. I went with the AKG D112 great deep thump and built like a tank.
This is a majorly underappreciated channel, seriously fantastic video!
Great review of a great mic!

It’s in a package now with three Sm57 for $400.
Shure DMK57-52. Includes shure mount laurel as well.
That sounds like a great deal. All very useful mics!
Great mic, I have one - nice explanation of why they are so good!
Thanks for this video!!! Great information as allways!!!

Cool review man. I currently use an AKG D112 but need to look for other kick mics with different characteristics.
@@consordini6258 The new D12 from AKG looks interesting
I wonder how this microphone would sound on a conga or tumbadora
Can the Shure Beta 52A also be used to get a jazzy bass drum sound? A warm, round sound with a lot of the drum's tone is what I'm looking for.
I want to know the same!!🙋♂️

Great video thanks a lot for it. What do you the about the Shure pg52???
I haven't used it personally, but I've heard good things. It likely sounds similar but might not be built as well, given the price point.
❤️❤️👍❤️❤️

Haha, no
Absolutely. I really think they're quite fragile. Had one that busted and I never dropped it. It's a pattern with these
