Red Lentil Rolls. Gluten-Free/ No Yeast/ Vegan-Friendly

  • This recipe offers a nutritious alternative to traditional bread rolls, crafted from nutritious red lentils. Rich in protein and fiber, they are not only delicious but also serve as a healthy addition to your diet. Furthermore, this recipe is suitable for vegans as it is free from gluten, eggs, yeast, and dairy products.
    Ingredients:
    🌿200 grams red lentils
    🌿4 tablespoons water
    🌿2 tablespoons olive oil
    🌿1/2 teaspoon salt
    🌿1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    🌿1 tablespoon lemon juice/apple cider vinegar
    🌿4 tablespoons psyllium husk powder
    🌿Sesame seeds (optional) or any other seeds of your choice
    Instructions:
    1️⃣ Rinse and soak 200 grams of red lentils for at least 4 hours or overnight. After soaking, rinse the lentils again and transfer them to a large bowl.
    2️⃣ Add 4 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons olive oil, then blend until smooth.
    3️⃣ Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 4 tablespoons psyllium husk powder. Mix well and let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the psyllium to swell.
    4️⃣ Line a baking tray with parchment paper. With damp hands, shape the dough into rolls and place them on the parchment paper.
    5️⃣ Optionally, sprinkle the rolls with sesame seeds or any other seeds of your choice.
    6️⃣ Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes.
    📝 Note: In this recipe, psyllium husk can be replaced with ground chia seeds or ground flax seeds.

    Hello! If I want to double the amount of rolls do I also double the amount of psyllium?
