Perfect video. I want to make something similar to yours for my son. He doesn’t have as many as you do and I really like how you took the wood that they stand on and the way you made them. So I’m going to take your idea and use the pipe fittings, mount them just like you did to the wood that holds each helmet, but I’m going to attach the flange (I think that’s what they are called) and attach each one to the actual wall. As a mom I’m not a fan of motorcycles because of the crazy vehicle drivers who don’t pay attention and cause too many accidents with the motorcycle driver. So be safe and thank you so much for a great tutorial.

That, is a decent job lad.
The only thing I'd change if this is how I do mine, is cut the board so the back sits flush!

Thanks! Good call on flushing up the back, I might have to trim these up at some point!

Love the idea man. Plan on using this method for my firefighting helmets. My question is, do you feel the acetone/poly step is really necessary if I’m using these inside? I’m thinking you did this because it’s in your garage where moisture is more likely to be present causing rust. Thanks

Thanks! The fittings come with oil on them, guessing from the thread cutting, and it comes off all over your hands while working with them. I think enough of the oil remains on them to keep the rust away with this use but I just didn't want to deal with it down the road.
