i love dying my old clothes because changing color is refreshing. when I dye them i even take off all tags so they wont get colored. i take so much time on my work but i never get to wear them again. i think i just love dying fabrics.
These videos are so nice to watch, and the new look was so rewarding to see as well, plus the new buttons on it matched quite well. If there were enough of the original buttons, I would've loved to see them, but I loved their replacements! These videos are great, please keep making them!
Congratulations, you just destroyed a rare historical artifact. That's a WWII Issue officer's greatcoat. Not many of those remain and now there is one less.
Having fun should not include destroying things that belong in a museum. It's sad to see things that have existed for 70+ years get erased. I don't hate HIM, he probably didn't know how old or rare that jacket was. Japan has good reason to not dwell on the more minute details of their WWII history. It's just sad that people don't appreciate the history something like that holds. Reminds me of a guy I knew who was a Merchant Marine in WWII and came home with all sorts of loot he bought off of Marines and Soldiers. Japanese Imperial flags, swords, bayonets, pistols... all thrown away by his wife when he died because she didn't understand what they where. It's a crying shame.

When i saw the coat i really thought he reaching beyond his limit here. Metal is one thing but fabric.. GET OUT OF HERE. Low and behold he made a dope ass coat. Yup i really think you can fix anything now.
to those getting their knickers in a twist over him destroying history : its not even a military jacket, its a old japanese civillian greatcoat from the same era . & even if it was a original IJA trenchcoat those greatcoats are so common sometimes even original jackets gets cut up to make reproductions of a IJA trenchcoat .
swedish ghostbuster it’s just a matter of personal view though, as some mentioned that after the war there were suits and coats made of surplus 国防色（defense colour: a sort of greenish brown) fabrics of Japanese military , so it was quite a wonderful thing to begin with, the restoration was fine too with some good effort put into it. But to me I’d see rather get a set of suit made of similar fabrics and make a post-war Japanese look, it would also have been interesting tbh
I have a very similar military coat like this I've had for many years and also had to repatch and replace the metal buttons.. what really helps the fabric from tearing again from constant use. I sewed clear smaller buttons on the opposite side when attaching the metal buttons (inside) and this strengthened it more.

he repair the coat in a way yes, but he also heavily modified it, this coat has loose value to be real, it is worth less then when he started the vid.

今のスーツと違って、 国防色の色合いと、 立体的な重圧感というんですかね、 厚みのある生地で 裏地も確りした、こだわりがあって そういうのがとても魅力的です
黒染めするだけで、普通に都会でも目を引くオシャレなコートに早変わりですね！戦前の人たちのセンスの良さがわかる。国民服は素晴らしい。
