This song was meant to be on Tae's personal mixtape and was all in English. The others heard it and convinced him to add it onto the album BE. It's a song he wrote when dealing with a pretty severe burnout and it's heartbreaking but uplifting at the same time knowing the boys we love to pieces are going through the same experiences we are. It's one thing to hear a sad song but to KNOW they felt it at the same time too makes it so much more real and honest - partly why ARMY love BTS so much because they don't really hide their feelings. I feel like BE was their most honest album to date and the songs tell an entire story starting with Life Goes On, Blue and Grey down to the final songs Stay and Dynamite. It's okay to cry because they're able to touch our hearts and coming from someone who hates to cry, I don't mind when they make me do it.
This song is totes relatable. By the way the last line is mistranslated or lost in translation it’s supposed to be something along the lines like I’ve said what I’ve had to say into the air I can go to sleep now. I read an interview where V mentions he was having a hard time and has trouble sleeping so when he got the song out of his system he was able to let go of those feelings and be able to fall asleep.

I totally cried when I read the lyrics! It hit so close to home... I struggle with my mental health and this song put a part of this depressed feeling into words and that was really sad but also healing at the same time. It is basically telling me that I'm not alone and there are people in this world that understand the struggle. And maybe people who don't understand it can get a better understanding by listening to this song. u know?

You will find BTS makes the most relatable music. They never say everything is fine, you're ok. They say. Its not ok but we are here with you. They boys have openly talked about being so sad, frustrated, mad and depressed over covid and 2020. It has really affected them as much as everyone else.
V wrote this song for his soon to be released solo mixtape. What you will find is most amazing is that their solo projects are often released for free on SoundCloud! If you haven't checked out their SoundCloud you are missing out!!! RM' s second mixtape was sold for $3.99 but they are usually free. The members loved this song so much they asked V to include it on "BE". We often forget rich and famous people struggle too.
V is a very emotional person and has written many songs for BTS, some are my favs. He is never shy about expressing his real emotions. And I feel that vulnerability that they all have really helps cement their relationship with their fans. They are simply beautiful humans.
00:00 (Zero O'clock) is another one of their songs that will ruin you, that and Paradise, Magic Shop and We On lol
In his verse Suga is refering to some of his earlier songs: BTS - Shadow, Halsey feat. Suga - Suga's Interlude, Agust D - People. You don't have to react to them, i just wanted to share this, cause i think it's interesting how he is connecting his lyrics together

girlll you know nothing about how much more bts songs like this one are out there.... there are sooo much more about this stuff and, believe me, it's hard to pick a favourite. All of them will touch your heart
Just knowing that someone 'get's it' means so much. I have a 16 yr old that suffers from high functioning anxiety and depression and she struggled to explain to me what she feels. Then this song....how do they do it? How do they so perfectly communicate with their music? It had to have God's hand on it. They are blessed with a gift for a reason. They are living the plan for their life. Their group was destined to be and to be where they are in this moment.
Blue and Grey is my favorite song off BE and yeah.. the emotions were HIGH when I first heard it.

It's a beautiful song. If you want to hear more solo from V. Check out Singularity, Winter Bear, Sweet Night, He recently wrote a Christmas song called Snow Flower, Scenery, Stigma and 4'Oclock with RM. I know it sounds like a long list but V's voice is something different and something special.

This actually hits even harder with a propertranslation. This was one of the videos that do the translations too fast and a lot of it was incorrect. There are lines that will actually destroy you if you read the correct translation. So I guess it's good you reacted to this one :D.

Suga’s verses are always deep and beautiful, just as the songs produced by him. I recommend you to listen to some of his works, he is always really honest with his words. When I first got into bts I didn’t even notice him, but eventually he grew on me. I even dare to say I listen to his songs the most (obviously everyone has their own personal preferences). I don’t know if anyone else feels like this, but I feel like, I do not see him enough especially In the title songs( I know now he is resting), and I would be really happy to get a rap heavy title song in the future. I can’t wait for you to get more into bts, and I am happy that I can accompany you to this journey!
Oeg, I'm pretty new to BTS myself. Only learnt about them a month after Dynamite came out, which was my first video I watched. It really made me happy 😄, so delved a bit into them. tae makes the best music i love all of his solo songs and group songs he has worked on he just has a way with words nobody has they you should react to more of his personality bc he is so goofy and dangerously attractive at the same time his duality is everything that's why he is my bias

Helpful tidbit: Sometimes the lyric videos are rushed, and may have inaccurate translations, or the translations may need clarification because of specific terminology used that is specific to Korean culture. Doolset (website) is a very reliable source to check afterwards.

Oh, and as others stated, perfect timing. Korea is ahead of the Eastern US by 14 hours. So based upon when you posted it, it was December 30th in Korea, and Taehyung’s birthday.
Another Korean Culture difference. You will often see Korean age vs International age. It’s best if a Korean explains it to you, but here’s a basic breakdown. And Tae is the perfect person for it.
The date of your birth you are age 1.
The start of the new year, everyone goes up in age 1 year.
So, I normally refer to their international age, or I give birth years. It’s easier for my brain. But, as can be expected, when BTS talks about their ages they will say their Korean age.
So, once again with Tae. He has been 26 (Korean age) all year. When, in international age, he just turned 25. AND, in a couple of days, he will turn 27 (Korean age). Confused yet? 😉 It gets easier with time.
Now to really blow your mind. Remember JungKook talking about joining BTS at 15? That was Korean age. He was either 13 or 14 International age (I don’t know what month he joined, but his birthday is in September). Which is why you will often hear the members and JK talking about how they raised him.
Sometimes through a song we need to hear that words. They are so beautiful and their voices hit so much with love 💜

Wow... this song always succeeds at making me sentimental.. it's just so gorgeous and I love the fact they decided to add this song to the album.
Could you also react to "Your eyes tell"? It's a japanese song Jungkook produced and this song was actually selected to be the theme of a Japanese movie with the same name [ Your eyes tell ]
This song was supposed to be all in english and part of his mixtape that will come out some time soon, but he rewrote it for the group and the rappers added their lines, also JKs song Stay from BE is the same in that sense that it was supposed to be part of his mixtape but Tae loved it soo much that he pushed the song to be included into the album.
If u dont know what mixtapes are...they are basically solo albums the members produce and write alone, and release for their fans for free. For now only the rappers released mixtapes ( RM and Suga released 2 each). And be ready Suga has a lot of songs that cover mental health and depression and all kind of emotions and how to cope with them, for his solo works he uses the name Agust D.

blue & grey is definitely my go-to when that good ol depressive episode hits 💖 also like a lot of people have mentioned, a lot of lyric videos including this one tend to be rushed and don’t do the lyrics justice in delivering the message of the song accurately.
If you really need a lyric video, I recommend BBTS9717’s channel! They take their time with both adding accurate translations as well as really lovely graphics in their lyric videos. But like others have mentioned, the best place for lyrics is definitely doolset’s website. They break down the lyrics extremely well even adding translator’s notes whenever there are references to things like culture and wordplay that a non-korean audience wouldn’t normally be able to pick up so their website is definitely top tier.

This song is super beautiful and honestly, bts lyricism is one of the thing that makes me love them SO much. All of them are amazing lyricist.
This probably will be a bit of an unpopular recommendation amongst other bts videos to checkout for someone who just know them, but I really hope one day you’ll give a chance to listen to Mono (RM’s mixtape). The entire mixtape is a masterpiece and really showcases RM’s strength in lyricism.

That last line is my favorite (translated wrong in this lyric video) where he basically is saying that he pulls his thoughts that are flying around in the middle of the night and containing them back into himself to remain, again, concealed. Ugh 😭 that lonely feeling is super relatable

Just want to give you a tip for future videos, I wouldn't choose lyric videos from: Lemoring, Jaegucci and Zaty. Those channels usually put out the lyric videos as fast as they can to get more views, thus the translations are pretty bad mostly, like what the f was that last line 'i picked up a horse'? What???? That is not correct lol. If you can watch lyric videos from aftaehyung I think that's how the channel is spelled. Anyways, loved your reactions, I also bawled when I first heard and read the lyrics haha
