- New to the B7 A4 platform or just looking for performance recommendations? This video is for you!
In this video I will be going over what to look out for in a tune and how to navigate the platform in preparation for K04 in the future.
This is video #2 of the 3 part series. The 3rd and final video will be a narrated guide on the K04 install with a few tips and pictures from when I DIY mine.
I’m already familiar with the fsi but this is a great video for someone starting out. I’m just here to support lol
Appreciate you tuning in!! Fun stuff is on its way 🫡
Definitely agree with all you are saying, but the go fast diverter valve has been proven to bet trash. The upgraded diverter valve has been proven to do wonders.
Oh interesting. I’ve heard it having lots of issues on other platforms but so far It’s been fine on my car.
Would you mind sharing a link on some negative feedback for the DV+ on a b7 2.0? I’d love to dive more into it as it’s still new to me and I’m sure others would like to read up as well :)
@Saucyb7 Media when I had my b8 2.0 platform it was an option, but these cars hate being vented to atmosphere. It actually hurts numbers and performance. Was told by tuners and never tried, but never had issues with just doing upgraded dv valve.
@@jerrygibson3518 oh! The DV+ in this video doesn’t vent to the atmosphere, it’s just an upgraded spring and piston in the diverter valve to keep it closed longer and open faster when needed. It’s keeps the same airflow for that model!
@Saucyb7 Media oh shit thats bad ass man. Definitely sounds like a solid upgrade.
@@jerrygibson3518 so far it has been! I’ll be sure to keep everyone up to date as I use it more
And when I have more $ and it's ready, I'll buy the CTS KO4 kit
If you run catless and put the elbow extension for the rear 02 you should pass emissions if you get it to work properly the whole reason of having it is to pass emissions it slows down the flow so the car thinks it has a cart on it in running CTS cattle's with the CTC elbow it works perfectly been over two years no problems
You’re definitely right and I’ve tried and let’s just say I failed the visual inspection haha strict state where I’m at
I'm going to take a motoza stage one or a stage two right now I don't know which one to choose
and when I have the KO4 I'm going to go to the Dyno because in my opinion it's better to have a custom tune because it's the way to get more hp and it's also the easiest way
If you wanna go custom tune route then check out united Motorsports. I recommend staying within the same company through all the “stages” as it will be more cost effective. Motoza or united Motorsports is the route to go
Did you change your fprv to an rs4 one when going K04?
I did later on yes
Hey wssup I ended up getting upgraded internals , ko4 turbo , s3 injectors , downpipes , full bolt ons , what time do you recommend on 91 octane
GIAC has one of the best k04 tunes out there. United Motorsports is going to be #1 but it’s expensive. A lot of people have motoza tunes as well. I would say between these 3. I have the giac one and have been really happy with it. You can buy an additional controller to switch between tunes and put on valet mode.
@@SaucyB7 how much power did you make on the GIAC tune , was it the 335hp ?
Trust me I know about intercooler fitment issues 😭😭
You’re rolling now so you’re good! Excited to see y’all start your k04 soon!
Any programming has to be done to the R8 fuel control module?
From what I’ve seen online it is plug and play, just a process to drop the fuel tank slightly to swap it in. I saw one post online stating you’ll need to set fuel pump adaptation in VCDS, but im 90% sure it’s plug and play.
Either way I’d recommend having VCDS ready to check fuel pump duty cycle to have peace of mind once it’s installed
Do I need to modify the cat with a KO4
You will need to speak with whoever tunes your car. Typically you will need a high flow car or test pipe
How much power are you looking at with the Ko4 build
300hp on 91 and 330hp on 100 according to GIAC website. I’d like to get in on a dyno though to see what the numbers are
Do you have upgraded internals?
@@bryan310_2 No, for an off the shelf k04 tune no internal upgrades are needed. DP, s3 injectors, FMIC, HPFP, and turbo is the base line. I’ve upgraded many other fueling components to get the car to run better over time.
Would love to do a 2.0TFSI K04 Build but the laws are so strict here in germany (if you want to drive legal)
Keep it a secret 🤫
You should check out boost dynamic tuning
That’s not a reliable tune, sorry. 2 step and a burble tune isn’t good for these cars. Just causes more issues.
@@SaucyB7 thx for the info, lemme send mine back for a stage 1 no burbles
@@2cent_mike if the tune allows it to turn on and off then you’ll be ok. Just don’t run the burble all the time if you can turn it on. And avoid 2 step, hurts the turbo bad.
These motors are made of plastic and it just stresses the motor out which is already going to stress it out with a tune.
If you want cool noises and proper power, get a united Motorsports tune as it’s custom to your car. Costs a lot more but at least it’s dialed to your car specifically. They make the best tune for b7 by A LONG SHOT
