oh yeah! they are. And no ill mention of Main Street, but they are older than The Four, in time, but also. We now have both of them!!!

The fact that this didn’t get them in top 5 is... bananas.
But in all seriousness, this felt right in line with the barbershop style, they were in-sync and in tune, the arrangement was solid, and it was extremely entertaining. No wonder they started to get more passive-aggressive after this year lol
They were clearly enjoying themselves, they moved around and kept the energy up, and it was a solid arrangement. This was top 5 material.
The following year, they did a parody of All Star and there was a bit where they were singing “you’re and all star (points to each other), and you’re an all star (points to audience), and you’re an all star (points to audience center), and… not quite (pointing to the judges)
@@nathanapplegate5374 Taking good-natured pot shots at judges is classic barbershop competition fodder, and in no way is indicative of them expecting to have gotten better scoring.

Their sense of humor is so unique, it gives them such entertaining character. On top of that incredible sound, I think they'll be champs not too long from now.

the fact that they used the “phone with appeal” joke 3 times and managed to make it funny every time is amazing
Starting at 3:37 it's incredible to hear them all modulate and hear that chord ring in tune with their harmonies

In the original version the gramophone joke was probably the easiest joke to miss, so it makes sense they emphasized it in this version.

@@lifeontheledgerlines8394i don’t have barbershop experience but i did acapella in college and my group competed in icca. all the groups competing loved watching each other and were super friendly. just because you’re competing for first place doesn’t mean you can’t be big fans of each other
Cute song, nice arrangement, lots of energy and the bari is fabulous.
So sad this group broke up during COVID. But appreciative of their very honest and open message about their reasons. It sounded like it was just too mentally and financially difficult to keep traveling while holding jobs, having families, etc. Sad, but glad they are able to still be friendly.
They didn't break up. Ryan left the group. Marcus eventually joined the group and whilst they have yet to win they have at least made the five.
They're around and better than ever! We miss Ryan but Marcus is also a killer bari

Love this quartet. Tight harmonies, great blend, so stinkin fun and funny!!!! Hope they win someday. Am I the only one that loves Ryan's face (the bari) at 3:03? Lol. Also, shout out to Kohl Kitzmiller (bari of Instant Classic, sorry if I misspelled it...) for this arrangement, great puns haha.

They are my favorite quartet in the entire world i love them. They help me have more comedy with my quartet. Hope i can meet them one day

I'm interested to learn how one can be both a tenor AND a bari, but anyway, if you come to the central coast-ish of California they do a lot of community barbershop events around there, I've had the honor of meeting them a few times, and even have a t-shirt signed by all four of them, if you are interested at all, they will be at a Harmony Camp September 8-10 in pollock pines, which is between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe

Just re-listened to the original Raffi version, and there's a lot fewer changes than I thought... Beijing is changed to Stockholm Syndrome, and the 'Ring-a-ding-ding' is added. That's about it. Even the 'This song drives me bananas' was in the original.
