    Thanks for the video... Question... I think I have the same problem on my 3.0.Did you need to undo the engine and jack it up some how ? Thanks...

      Yes, before you disconnect the motor mount, put a floor jack under the oil pan to support the engine. Just make sure you put a piece of plywood or similar to protect the oil pan from the jack

    Hello i was duing this but I pushed the seal to far in . do I take it out again or would it be ok?

    Thanks for the video. Im about to change the seals too. Is there a trick to pull the belt and cam sprocket so reinstalling doesn't throw off timing?

    • @hazegrayandunderway8077
      @hazegrayandunderway8077  6 лет назад

      Veloddadv theres always the risk that when you pull the belt everything changes position. The cams will roll to the resting spot...the crank will be ok. Unfortunately you'll have to make sure everything is lined up. Sooo....while your in there change the belt, unless brand new. And for god's sake get OEM parts..seals especially

      I am in same position, so you DO need to remove manifold to set TDC (Top Dead Center)

  • @RPMzRUDY
    @RPMzRUDY 3 года назад

    I was wondering if you have to remove the intake manifold at any point while replacing seals?

    • @hazegrayandunderway8077
      @hazegrayandunderway8077  3 года назад +2

      No you do not, just timing cover, belts, cam gear, etc

    how did you get the pick in there? once seal comes off will cam roll or stay in position?

    • @hazegrayandunderway8077
      @hazegrayandunderway8077  6 лет назад

      If belt is off, cam will roll for sure

    • @ibxlegendx
      @ibxlegendx 6 лет назад

      I already did it with a big flat head. Drilled two holes next to each other. Got the flathead in carefully to widen it and started to rock it carefully up and down and mine came out easily.

    How’s it going I’m going threw this right now as far as the broken time belt and I’m having hell if you have time can you message me i would greatly appreciate and i greatly appreciate the vid thanks in advance

      Dylan Morris if the timing belt broke you probably bent valves on this interference engine, but there is a slight chance you didn't. It's a bitch, but you can fix the belt then do a Compression check on the cylinder, but I'm afraid you'll fail because of bent valves. Sorry man. So I would pull the heads and get them redone, or do it yourself like the video. Valves are about 90.00 to 125.00 bucks. The rest is your labor. It will be big bucks at the shop. Not much good news I know.

      Dylan Morris pretty standard. Both heads will be. Make sure you inspect the cylinder tops too for damage, they should be ok. If you have the cash, you can take the heads in to get redone. You can do yourself. Make sure you re place valve seals and cam seals too. Take your time. Lap the valve seats too. You got this. Check Amazon for all the parts and gasket kit.
