Anything that he is missing, you can easily just look that up separately, this guy is amazing, a his videos are short so they're easy to digest, b he teaches in a way that anybody can learn from, and c, he is simply just a billy badass!
Great thing about FabFilter is you don't just get great plugins, but you get such comprehensive tutorials with them, I've learnt so much from you guys, still trying to get my head round M/S Eqing though, scared to mess with mono transfer image.
Just using the first suggestion of mid and side high pass has made a huge difference in the clarity of my final mix. I just want to say how grateful I am for the information and the FabFilters I use.
This videos about mastering change definitively my live. After viewing tons of video about mastering on youtube I never achieved great results. Thanks to this videos and powerful plugins I have now a great high level mastering results. Thanks!!! Love your plugins, the best out there
I came here after seeing this in an embedded video window on the REAPERblog site, so had no idea of the other glowing comments until I went to write my own. I really want to echo that this is a truly excellent guide, and yes one of the best I've seen in terms of presentation style, detail, pace & tone. Since it's working with great quality music, you can get a great idea of the results achievable. I'd been looking for something I could recommend to fledgling producers and this is IT! Thanks
You guys make the best tutorial videos! Love that you talk about some of the science behind the plug-ins and not just "do this for this, and that for that."
Was looking around for some decent EQ/Filters and have been recommend FabFilters. Started poking around the site and found the Timeless video and was curious, cause you can never have enough delay (old Shoegazer) and then I discover this Mastering Tutorial. I owe you a pint or nine. You've described techniques in about 10 words that I've had explained to me a million other ways. Dan, you are indeed "The Man". My savings account is now being subverted to FabFilterSaveUp account. Thanks.
@@n.p.3338 lol? And what are u using pro? Analog ? Maybe u have money to buy stuff but u lack exp.or maybe you have hate problems but calling that fab filter is for noobs in music production is so stupid! People use what they like when they try u know, they not using what they dont like. So stfu "pro" guy!
That's a load of information!! Thanks a lot...... Most tutorials out there just waste our time, and for the entire 20-30 minutes, there's hardly something new I learned! But I was somehow lucky to find this RUclips channel!!....
There are no other plugins that can compare to fab filter, absolutely the best ever made. I use them on every mix I make. I refer to them as premium plugins. Ps the q3 is off the chain awesome 👏
TNice tutorials is by far the best soft soft basic tutorial, I rember when I just started learning, tNice tutorials was so helpful!! I’ve now been releasing edm
Fantastic tutorials Dan, very well explained. I use the FabFilter plugins for my mastering; I love the way they're so intuitive and the visual aspect really helps. I find the Q is perfect for mid-side work, just as you show here. Great stuff.
@joskav The intro shows a CD layout in Wavelab, which I use to create DDP disc images for replication. But I use Reaper for the processing as I know it better, and I like the routing and automation options.
Soo.... This is what Mastering really is, or atleast a brief overview. Big respect to all you mastering engineers out there, you are damn worth well your dollar!
agreed! my college where i did music tech payed thousands for copies of protools, and when i finished i wasnt prepared at all to pay for pro tools, and im a fan of anything open source. not only is it ridiculously cheap, i find it miles better at what i want! So good
@SoundGauge the trick with sub bass, is less is more.. a decent sub will pick up the B-line, too much volume will interfere wit other things. I would advise you to learn about side-chaining ducking to the kick drum. They share some of the same frequencies, by using that technique you give them space and they adjust dynamically. The lowest I've heard a tune go down to is 17hz.. which is charley DnB mix by prodigy, in the middle 8 .. BUT that is the only sound playing .
I wish Dan Worrall had a complete recording, mixing, and mastering course.
All in bits and pieces on RUclips
Agreed

I think I learnt more about EQ in 10 minutes than the dozens and dozens of videos I've seen. Got me sold for sure.

Great video. So glad I invested in Fabfilter FX bundle.
Very clear taught me a few things about side mix !
it amazes me that on videos as useful as this, the creators still have the background music way too loud!
Thank you for explaining this thoroughly!
Great tutorial, I usually just grab a preset but I'm definitely gonna try to mess with these effects a bit more.

Awesome tutorial and methodology!
Good tutorial of what the Q is capable of, just make sure to divide all your settings by 2 at the end because this is quite extreme to my taste :)

daliksheppy Is not free, but allows you to pay for it when you start getting fruits from your work. Amazing tool to start.
Studio One is the best DAW ever, easy-to-use and it is perfect for everything, from composing a song to mastering your final track.

Brilliantly explained
The video was so helpful! Thanks a lot!
Trying to make a soft you hear in your head co to life might be the hardest part starting out but I guess that requires so solid
It’s okay to feel that why. I felt like that sowhat at the beginning. Just use the love you have for making soft to overpower that feeling
i respect you and your videos more than much
that was a nice video it definitely helped out, thankyou so much and you just earned a sub
god damn...u should get paid for this man! respect! very nice
They're both excellent companies. FabFilter probably has more extensive types of plugins, but IzoTope's products IMO are even easier to use.

This was enlightening, thanks.
Thank You!! Amazing Pllugins! Wonderful Tools!
@SoundGauge yes it is, that bass is always in the middle as to not muddy up the track as a whole ;)
