You cannot fire mounted weapons twice in the same turn, but with boom blast they don't cost any AP, so it is beneficial to use boom blast burst to launch 2 grenades and 1 missile in the same turn.
7:01 - Serious question here: Why are some of my phoenix sniper rifles "Firebird SR" while others are "Firebird SR-1"? I have to same situation with the phoenix assault rifles. I have an "Ares AR-1" (which I can manufacture) and a "Ares AR-2" (which I can't). I can't find an answer anywhere. There are stat differences between them. I can only manufacture the lower grade of them right now.
Do you play with the promo skins? I think that is what the difference is. You can't reproduce the promo skin models. They are just one-off models. I think there are two sniper rifles with different colorings and that black AR which are different. It's the same with the promo armors that can't be reproduced, but they look drastically different, so we don't confuse those. The weapons are very similar looking other than the colors.
@@ZigZagZog Good hypothesis. I thought about that too. What is confusing for me is when you drag items off a soldier in the equip menu, it will give you options to build and scrap it. When I do that with some of the Promo items, they sell for 0 tech & 0 materials, and I thought that's how I know they were promo materials. I figured, the developers didn't want to give out a bunch of free resources from scrapping the beginning weapons and armors (e.g. Hel III). But the AR-2 and SR-1 do sell for good resources, similar to the Danchev AR. I wonder if I got them as a mission reward somewhere? Seems like another thing that I need to find a mod for, to add in.
We've asked the TftV team if they could make the promo skins produceable. I don't believe they have found a way yet. Feels like cheating a bit by starting with them, but yet, I like the way they look. Hopefully someone will find a way...some day.
@@ZigZagZog I don't care about the skins are much as being able to either upgrade or build upgraded versions of weapons. Once Arthrons hit 30 armor, the regular Phoenix Assault Rifle barely does any damage. Make it a research you have to do, or make it unlock after a mission, I don't care. Knowing that I have unlocked most of the weapons in the first few hours of the game is a downer. The variety is lacking.
It would seem to actually be a situational decision on either citadel or theft of a Helios too. You might just be below a threshold to get valuable shared tech from who you plan on stealing from. It might actually be better to actually lose a couple extra points, if in the process they give you valuable tech, gifts, resources, joined soldiers, etc.... So, just looking at the numbers as they appear initially may not tell the whole story. But, yes, it appears when nothing else is at stake, it appears its better to lose relationship points, just to gain more back.
They've really upped the diplo penalty, but I have not had a problem recovering the losses, so far. Just takes a little more work and focus. And with the resources being so scarce on Legend, I hesitate to try building anything so costly, like an airship or vehicle. It can be done. The theft way is just my preference. I also love the challenge of a nice vehicle theft mission.

So... I think that the scylla's body created terrain on top of the mindfragger, and then the game didn't know what to do, so it just decided that the mindfragger shouldn't be in play and thus just killed the thing. I think.
This will keep the mystery of the Mindfragger hidden. I like to think that the Scylla squished the Mindfragger upon it's death, but didn't kill it. Then the Mindfragger bled out. Guess we shall never know for sure.
"[This Arthron Brute Champion's] a Spitter Head, Claw, and a need-to-get-up-close kinda guy." But it also has a Tar Shadow. So another Umbra is in your future, unless you can assess that. "Herman, just to give you that weapon, we took away your medkit." Yowch, I always think defensively when I change things up. That's why. "The Scylla is gonna be coming around the mountain, around the bend, very shortly." Some early variants of the Scylla can leap, and I believe this one is early enough to be one such Scylla. Try to anticipate it just leaping over the wall, instead. That's how I met one for the first time, and it proceeded to stab out one of my main Assault's arms in that same turn. "I'm gonna run you over here now Herman, for when that Scylla comes up, you're gonna be point-blank with a shotgun is what I'm hoping." What? He's gonna panic because of the viral damage! 4 Viral Damage against 2 WP. If he should be doing anything this turn, it's recovering, so that he can still be controlled when the Scylla shows up. For a single turn, anyway. So that was a throw, by having him do anything other than recover. "Really sucks not being able to tuck you in there Herman and add a shot to [the Scylla Xenagos'] abdomen." Personally, I think it's for the best that you can't do that. The Scylla next turn would probably move to stab him, in spite of War Cry. And even if the attack doesn't outright kill him, he'd still be cornered and unable to hit any unarmoured spots unless Smoovie de-armoured something else he can see. "[The Scylla Xenagos] is not gonna panic just yet, but we might get lucky next turn." I don't think so, I think they changed it so now the Scylla (Any variant) only takes half the viral damage displayed. Which means it'd take 3-4 turns to make it panic. "Now we've got two guys that are unavailable this turn." That mist carapace really just took PapiLlon out of the equation indirectly. What a mess. "It's not a regular Pistol ZigZag, you treated it as if it was." That is basically a Magnum, definitely not a Pistol. "And now we start using the Quick Aim." If Marc panics next turn, we all know who to look at. "Oh my lord, we're not gonna quite be able to take [the Scylla Xenagos] out." This is enough. The 120 bleed will engage, and the Scylla will also panic. By the time it can recover, it'll be gone. Focus on the next threat! "We have an exit zone over here..." Loses 2 next turn, then 1 on the next, and then is no longer afflicted with Viral Damage on the following turn. "We heard a death over here that sounded like a Mindfragger death, to me. What the heck would he have died from?" I didn't hear anything from that Mindfragger prior. Only thing I can think of is that the Scylla died on top of it and crushed it, but that sounds a little outlandish, too. "New Jericho Combat Training, that's a big one. Technician is big. Armadillo, well..." Don't knock the Armadillo. There's some new adjustments that can be made to your average Armadillo now, courtesy of Kaos. That could be a step in the direction of the new DLC content.
There's hope that ZigZag can learn. LoL I actually noticed the Tar Shadow before it became an issue, this time... Shame on Commander for noticing that just a bit too late. With the way he panicked, it could have very easily caused a fatality. I missed that detail. It seems silly that they would adjust the panic damage but not show that change somehow on the UI. Fortunately we did not have to learn that the hard way, because we ended up killing it anyway. That's why you hear me endlessly saying how much I have mist. That gun is my bane. Either I keep thinking it's an independent pistol or I forget about the two actions to use. One day...one day... LoL I definitely have a habit of running down my Will to the extreme. If I keep panicking on my missions, maybe I might change my ways, just a little. You were correct on the Scylla bleeding out, but when I focused on the next threat, the Arthron Umbra, I realized the best way to handle it was to kill the Scylla to panic that dangerous Arthron. Yes sir! Commander listened to your advice this time and we got that nice Pythagorus I've always hoped that a Scylla in past missions might fall on a Mindfragger.
