This song brings me back to the moments when my dear husband was still alive. He loved this song so much and we used to dance to it together. It's been years since he's been gone, but whenever I listen to this tune, I feel like he's still with me, holding my hand and swaying to the rhythm. Thank you for producing such a beautiful melody that will always remind me of the love I once shared with my husband.
Just opened up for these guys lastnight in Jacksonville Florida with my band Rhythm Of fear! They played this song last, and his mic goes out so the whole crowd was singing the lyrics and when the chorus came, everyone was on top of each other singing "I AM THE MASTER KILLER"! It was fucking nuts! Loved it all, love Merauder and love my band!
I saw them around 2010 in Hungary when they was touring with Entombed. Entombed was one of my faves and I never heard Merauder before. Usually when I see a band I never heard before I usually forgot about them after, but Merauder gave a really good impression and I still love em
Damn WuTang and Merauder missed a chance to do a collab song the way Biohazard/Onyx and Anthrax/Public Enemy did. Hell, they even had the same Honk Kong martial art movie aesthetic.
Sob (Javier Carpio - ESP Mirage guitar/ 8ball tank) was my guitar teacher as a young guitarist in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Sunset Skins por vida! Miss you, my bro bro. RIP. I can still hear your raspy voice whenever I think of it. Love you, kid.
These guys must have had horrible management. Because they had the look & talent to make it BIG. The whole album is excellent. The riff in this song is incredible & drumming, WOW! How were they not on Ozzfest back in the day.
Not sure but there was a bunch of bands of this era that had "IT" and never blew up. I think I like it better like that at this point in life knowing it's still underground and still rips and still holds up. I just bought this cd this year. STILL backin this shit!
Personally, I think it was probably the band themselves not wanting to "sell out" by doing bigger shows. Earth Crisis did a similar thing in the late 90s and the hardcore scene turned on them from what I've seen and heard. Also Jorge from Merauder briefly joined the band Ill Nino but left for not wanting to be a sellout. After he left and Cristian became the singer, they became a pretty bog standard nu metal band, way more popular than Merauder but not as respected, and they fell off in the late 2000s.
if you listen to the episode of the Jasta podcast with Drew Stone he talks about that specifically, he was their management and said Marauder is a great example of a band that just couldn't keep together, they had just come up with an album and they were already booked to go on tour with Sepultura and then the band imploded it...sad
Honestly, their releases after Master Killer just didn't have it. Master Killer was a perfect debut and everything after was a disappointment in comparison.
I remember going to the store and trying to decide between Marauder or Fear Factory. This was before I had internet. I was able to listen in store, I picked Fear Factory but never forgot these guys. That were great too.
@@Mahmood42978 do your homework.. like any of the NYHC bands these were street dudes and still are. Look up some Jorge Rosado (singer) interviews. I slept on this band for a long time.. had the bluetality CD back in the day but didnt think much of them.. realising how awesome they are now.

I am proud to be a New Yorker because of these bands. I only like Master Killer and some demos with the Leeway singer. Very picky with Hardcore. Like a handful of bands.
Late but, bro, emo is equally hardcore, it was born from the DC Hardcore Scene in the 1980s with bands like Embrace or Rites Of Spring and was called “Emotionak Hardcore” or “Emocore”that the media mislabeled everything with Emo even doe it wasnt doesnt make emo bad, Emo is just as mislabeled as Metalcore with those banda that arent Metallic Hardcore but rather “Melodic Metalcore”

@Alucardtube636 yeah.. I think Jorge is Puertorican, I had a friend from NY know him and he was always talking all the time about Jorge "El Niño" time later i realize he was the same Jorge of MERAUDER
