Yep. I always tell people check your grounds. Which with engine being structural part of the frame it makes sense. It's not like a traditional frame. Actually with Pan Am you must have it plum to check oil or change. Because adaptive ride height.
If they messed up something so simple makes me wonder what else ? Staying away from dealership as much as possible , there's my 2 cents . Good luck , ride safe
I seriously don’t see what people are complaining about with the mids. I’m 6’5 with 36in inseam. And I loved them when I tried it. Was more than the forwards. But at the same time I ride sport bikes and naked bikes. So feet up and back is my preference
The mid controls completely transformed my bike in a positive experience. I was so uncomfortable with the air pumping my feet back with the forward controls at high speed. Unfortunately I have exactly the same issues after riding 100 miles and the bike dying three times while riding. Then it died for good. I ended up towing it to dealership. It has ONLY 800 miles and it’s one month old. Very frustrating!!
So I am getting ready to trade in my 2023 Sportster s for a 2023 lowrider s 117 . I owned my Sportster s for a year . At 500 freaking miles , oil was leaking from the front rockers ...needed a seal . At 3,600 miles last month ...oil leak on rear rocker . Dealership had my bike for 3 weeks before putting a gasket seal . During the whole year , Bluetooth has not been working properly. My worst complaint would be it doesn't matter if I have 120 hp because the roads and freeway i commute on daily are full of pot holes, deep cracks , that 2 inches of rear travel are painful and my bike bottoms out . Thinking about aftermarket stuff...forget it , its only Chinese companies and European companies coming out with aftermarket products. The cheepest pipes I seen are $3000 . No slip ons , you need the entire system. Mid controls cost $650 from Harley and the service is just as expensive since brake cables have to be re-routed. I miss the soul of an air/ oil cooled engine . More reliable bikes, the sound , vibrations. Cheeper mods if I want and more HD products for the M8 motorcycles. I have owned 5 different Harley motorcycles and never had issues as I have with this , 3rd year Model . If you want a sports bike , save your money and get a Japanese sports bike .
Many machines have these issue when its a brand new design. Its just important that Harley deals with the issues timely and for the owner hopefully everything gets sorted under warrenty. Its issues 'early adopters' have to deal with i guess. It is terrible that the bike came over filled with oil. Why are we getting hosed with massive dealer fees when basic crap like that gets messed up.
I wonder what the issue is with HD not having better quality control with this bike. Every review ppl complain about the electronics. Beautiful bike but HD needs to do better and provide better suspension
Well it’s definitely powerful enough to keep you satisfied for a a few years. I would just make sure you start out in rain mode, it’s a less aggressive throttle mode. It does have a lot of nice rider aids. Insurance isn’t cheap sadly but any sporty bike is expensive to insure. It’s a fun bike. Can cause some irritation with your ass on longer rides, suspension isn’t the best. But it’s still a good bike. Give it a try!
I would be cautious about being a first bike. It’s very heavy and expensive. It’s also unreliable so maybe as second bike after your outperformed a smaller beginner bike like a 300 or 400 cc. You should get what you want anyway and you will make it work.
I got this one I’m 25. My second bike last year i bought a zero s and had never rode a motorcycle before and after 3k miles i swap it for the sporster s 2023. It’s very forgiving in rain mode. After i feel comfortable with the bike I’ll play around with the riding modes.
Was it TSB 1573 that you were referencing? I get error codes upon start every so often but once I clear them out they don’t come back for a while and doesn’t seem to effect performance of the bike. I keep it on a tender when not in use. Did you contact the dealer directly and reference the TSB above? Thank you!
I am not entirely sure if it was the TSB 1573. I did not have any codes pop after the bulletin work was done. BUT I changed the battery from the lithium to the OEM battery and I did notice a couple codes after the reinstall of the OEM battery. I think the OEM battery just doesn't have the power needed on acold start sadly.
Don't buy the sportster s. U get problems each month I just to have. The sportster s for only 5 months and we 4,789 mils more then 8 times wen in service s. I trade the. Sportster s we the new. 2023 lowe rider s
Yes sir! Another thing to think about , that I’m dealing with currently and will make a video on is the front tire wear and length, or lack there of. After 4000 miles the tire will begin to rapidly lose tread. And it’s almost impossible to get a new one.

Looking at getting this as a first bike, not a young dumb kid but would it still be good as a first bike?

Do the 2024 still have this problem?

Whats a service bulletin?
So if I buy this bike brand new this week should I ask them about the service bulletin?

@@twowheelinluke bro fr these are like 5k rated tires it’s soooo terrible 😅
My Sportster s Dont start 😢 I change the starter-batterie and I don’t know what I need to do 🥹
in Asia they would not tell you if they knew
Wearing no gloves is crazy
Depends on the temps, I don't like the dexterity of riding with gloves.

Stop riding in the middle of the lane brother 😮
