Good job, guys. Love your work
Silverhawks is new to me. Thanks for sharing! Joy.
So cool! Thanks guys. I enjoyed every of your panels for the last few years.
Really funny and fantastic panel!
really great stuff
I loved the Silverhawks show as a kid. It was also one of my first coloring books.
You guys are very entertaining.
Another great panel! Thanks as always for putting these up for those of us who couldn't be there.
So much fun, wish I cold have been there.
A great panel guys! Good job!
Wish I was there a great panel
Nice Panel guys
I used to watch silverhawks in the day. Can't find it on dvd for the life of me. Thundecats is one of my top five faves. Tigersharks, don't remember. If i did, lost to time.
I didn't watch many of these as a kid, but this was an enjoyable panel. Thanks!
Awesome video.
You improve with each Conference. This was phenomenal!
The slick and case solving SilkerHawks is awesome to reconnect with, and fully connect to the other unique worlds and gene-smashing heroes from Rankin/Bass. Stay safe everyone!
thanks you guys this was AWESOME!😎
Well now! Michael can sing? Who knew? :-)
Well done, guys. Looking forward to more of Retroblasting at Dragoncon.
Man! I wish I could go there! Really just to meet you guys though...
You're Welcome.
Thanks for posting, very cool. Wish they could release Tigersharks.
Awesome panel as always =D I think I'm one of the few who really liked Tigersharks, especially their ship. So much that I actually built two in different scales out of fake legos.
this again was another great panel, bravo RB!
Oh my god, it was *Silverhawks* that had those science lessons at the end. I've been kicking myself trying to remember which show had them. It's crazy, I remember just about nothing from the actual episodes, to the point where I questioned if I had even ever watched the show (though I certainly knew about it and the toys). But I clearly remember those little science lessons and the fact that sometimes the kid got answers wrong. I can remember anything from snippets to bits of dialogue to whole scenes to entire episodes of Transformers, GI Joe, Centurions and dozens of other '80s cartoons, but all I remember from Silverhawks are the tacked on science lessons at the end. I don't even remember the characters themselves. How crazy is that? One was about the twinkling of starlight. Why do I still remember that?!
I loved both these show as a kid but saw very few episodes because it was pretty randomly on in Belgium
Excellent job you guys. Loving these Con panels. ^>^
finally a video about tigersharks ,thanks so much guys, great work like always
These panels have been great! Thanks to both of you for putting these together.
I love all the work you 2 put into these shows / conventions. Great content!
Ah, LOVED this, for sure...AMAZING vid that really took me back! :) Along with ThunderCats, I was a big fan of SilverHawks, even though I'd miss most of the episode if I didn't practically run home from school, ha (man, to have had the Internet and/or DVR back then)! I always thought of SilverHawks a bit like Marvel Sci-Fi meets Dick Tracy meets Robocop, and the D&D geek in me also felt it had a bit of a Spelljammer aesthetic to it(?), which is the part I think I liked best. Main thing (especially back then) is that I thought it entertaining and WAY cool to look at. The description/praise of the visuals was SPOT ON, so kudos there for sure...too cool! Thanks SO MUCH again, #RB...see you with the next nostalgic gem! #BlastOn
what kinda bothers me now when I watch Silverhawks and after playing Werewolf the Apocalypse, around the basis of the Weaver trapping spirits inside things, is without living skin, they really couldn't feel anything. Except maybe on their hands and faces and metal bodies they couldn't feel. The sensory deprivation would drive me nuts. Not being able to feel the texture of a book, or the fur of cat, hot, cold etc. Ohh spooky! Thanks for posting this. Really loved this and can't wait for the next panel talk.
Thank you both for so much hard work. This channel is awesome.
Maggie Wheeler was Steelheart and Melodia
awesome video.i remember watching all 3 of them as a kid. did you guys ever see the comedy shows "the state" or "reno 911" the guy that does Lion-O's voice, his daughter Kerri Kenney is in both of them. she is the crazy lady "Trudy" on reno-911
I just got home from work and was so pleased to see part 2 uploaded!! You guys know how enthused I am for this stuff. Another great panel under your belts, well done.
Thanks Matt! Editing the Star Wars cartoons panel tonight and Sunday.
Can't wait for that one. Just a quick thank you for taking the time to reply to me. It's very much noticed and I hope we can meet up one day. Good luck with the editing!! Have a great weekend.
I never had Tigersharks toys when I was a kid, and neither did my neighbors and friends did have any.
But we always played Tigersharks in the nearby swimming pool. We always did try to recreate the opening ourselves. :)
Another pleasing video, nice to see real research into these reviews or revisits.
As a kid, I had Lion-O, Quicksilver and also Mako, whose toy gimmick was the same as Monstar, but instead of pressing the legs together, you move his left arm, or right I think, upward and you switch his head from human to shark head.
Carl Noa I didn't even know there were Tigersharks toys around!
I love the theme song of Silver Hawks, hands down.
I could not understand the plot of Tiger Sharks because it was discontinued, thanks for the info.
Awesome panel overall. I loved the trip down memory lane regarding Thundercats and Silverhawks. As well as getting my memory jogged about Tigersharks. I only realized when the first images of the characters went up on the accompanying screen, that it was something I'd seen before. I'm almost certain I had a figure of the Dolph -- I guess is his name -- character.
Hahaaa imagine the pain and stuff, the bionic six probably had. Fun for the whole Family -.-
question...as a kid and even more as an adult, I've wondered why Bluegrass was so different from the others...no wings, or built in lasers.
He was designed to fly the Maraj. Hence, it is likely since he was permanently paired with a ship with lasers and flight capability, they saw no need for him to have the independent flight/combat capabilities of the other hawks. Kinda like how the pilot of a Huey chopper relies on the guns on the vehicle rather than being issued an M-16 and grenades for ground combat.
oh well, guess it's a good thing he could play the laser guitar, he even had his own nemesis in "Lady Gaga".
Maybe Marshall Mathers was a Seymour fan (see Weird Al's "interview" with Eminem)
They should connect all 3 shows and make it into one big epic series ala Marvel/DC universe!
Malodia seems like a villain that would be on jem lol the cartoon
The Comic Strip was my favorite after school cartoon. Karate Kat felt like a rip off of Hong Kong Phooey but Street Frogs and Mini Monsters along with Tigersharks was enjoyable. I did like how they did acknowledge that Dolph couldn't stay underwater. I may not be remembering right but I think there was an episode where Dolph was on a mission and needed a scuba tank.
Did not like Silverhawks, but Leonard Starr wrote one episode for it.
I LOVE the Silver Hawks!!! I wish they would get a well thought out Rated R movie.
I think the premise, look of the show never should have been made into a kids show.
apelitium more like a PG-13
wait a second....organics elements melded to a robot suit. battles space villain that can shape shift. built-in weapons and flight systems... the Silverhawks are SpaceKnights!
T-Ray has a little more motivation. In the first episode as they approach Water-O, his minion Wall-Eye says “Maybe this is a bad idea, T-Ray.” And T-Ray responds, “You got any better ideas, Wall-Eye? Our planet’s dried up.” So basically, T-Ray wants to conquer Water-O so that he and his people (as in his planet’s various species) can establish a new home. Why using military force when they could just negotiate with the Waterians to give some of their ocean to them is not explained
Mentioning how the criminals in Dick Tracy often looked more eye catching than Dick himself, I always felt that was done not just to accent their namesake but to muck up their humanity as criminals. Dick may seem plain against them but that's because he's like a knight (detective) going up against monsters.
It's the same with the Silver Hawks. Even in the intro they give off an almost angelic presence and even though they ARE based on birds. The bad guys are chaos while the SH are balance and order, with the Copper Kid looking the most striking as the lone copper-gold color.
And how much of a twist would it have been if the Tiger Sharks WERE working with Black market dealers but they were more anti-heroes and they had different backgrounds to why they took their paths, with it all ending with them finally leaving that trade as they realized their were better things put there. 🤣
All of a sudden Maggie Wheeler is more attractive now that I know she did the voice of Steel Heart.
hahaha for me too!!!
I actually saw her in an episode of Seinfeld, just recognized her by her voice
I didn't know lady gaga liked silver hawks its been 2 years someone needs to ask her this
I'm surprised you guys never mentioned SilverHawks being a ripoff of Gatchaman a.k.a. Battle of the Planets.
SilverHawks was an homage to Gatchaman; its influence is obvious!
I've shared your videos with friends, if you'd mind listening to the Fanholes podcast, which is deep in pop culture, and if you like let us know. We've been going almost five years strong.
The stereotype is fried chicken, not hot wings. And honestly the stereotype is so well known even a bunch of 30ish white people can't remember it correctly. So I wouldn't be offended at his name.
