I've had this since about 2015-2016 and it's great. Love it so much that since it's discontinued I've even considered buying a second just in case and/or for parts.

Is there two different coffee maker coause the one I have doesn't have a botton upper right that does the heat thing , the steam doesnt come out and cant froth the milk -_-
This is the machine I have. Another nice feature not mentioned is that the milk wand will automatically stop when it detects your milk is frothy. I agree the soupy portafilter is annoying especially if you have a knock box to dispose/dislodge the contents. Instead I use the sink to get rid of the sludge and run the waste disposal. Otherwise, amazing machine!
Two comment for people wanting a non pressure filter cup: 1. I discovered the filter holder from an Imusa model GAU-18201 machine is a near perfect fit. When I first tried it, there was a small bit of leakage, so I to cut a thin gasket to go between the filter and filter holder to get it to seal completely. Using the Imusa 4 cup filter basket also gains you more coffee capacity for make larger cups. I just made a Double, Double cappuccino - Bouncing off the walls, but Yum. 2. Another alternative is drilling out the small hole in the bottom of the original filter that controls the flow. It shouldn't take much. I'm guessing no more than 3/16" should do it. Just be careful not to drill all the way through to the inside of the filter. I have one ordered to test this idea.
Wow I had this machine for 3 years and didn't knew lots of feature's that you showed ahah. But it was my ex girlfriend machine so I never really searched anything about it and just did what she told me to do with it. I just bought a Breville Barista Express last week and I was trying to look if it was a better machine than this one. So far I think I appreciate it more, and now that I know about pressurized and non pressurized filter, I'm glad that I have both. I'm always bringing nice coffee from my travels and now I know I can get better results with the non pressurized ones ! But I was still curious to know wich one would be your personal pick if you could only have one of them since they are about the same price range. Another thing I like with the Breville is that I don't have much contertop space so it's nice to have a integrated grinder in it. We used to have the DeLonghi grinder and it was a mess to clean all the coffee that was going out of the container. With the Breville grinder, so far it's pretty clean after I grind the beans !
How do you decalk this? I can’t find the original instructions and programming of this coffee machine is a nightmare… I programmed this few years ago and now I want to reprogram without the instructions… it’s like enigma…
I bought an 850 thinking it was this machine with a choice to use the wand . I was unable to return it so I am stuck with the container delivery for froth which is no good at all. Do you know if a wand attachment can be bought to replace the tank system. I have followed all the instructions to the letter and the froth is just flat. Hope you can help
Hello ma'am Can you please suggest me which number of portafilter fit with my delonghi ec860 model? I lost the first portafilter Please help me to find the accurate size of portafilter
Hi Gail, I just watched your review for EC 685. which one is better between EC 860 and Dedica EC 685? or maybe someone can help me to share your experience for both machine. Thanks a lot.
Hi, Thanks for this informative video. I recently bought DeLonghi EC860M and need some more training on this specially on manual frothing and my shots doesn't look and taste good. What shall I do to improve the quality of shots as well as milk frothing?
Another great review. It would be great if you put a thermometer into the drinks once you have made them so we actually get to see the temperature. I have yet to find an automatic milk carafe that gives a hot enough temperature for my taste. Thank you 😊
+Mr H No problem! When testing before we filmed, the milk came out of the carafe at 163F. That is not in the cup temperature, but a pretty solid place to be for automatic milk.
Hi, thanks very much for useful video. I just get my EC 860 at unfortunately it doesn’t transfer the milk from milk container to cup. With water it works but I don’t get milk to the cup. I check everything is fitting ok and try many time
I have the same coffee machine and all six lights on and only makes coffee but right hand side buttons ( two makes cappuccino doesn’t work ) how do I fix it? Thanks
Hello, hope you can help me or someone can help me, we are a home of 3 people that enjoy coffe, some espresso some capuchino and some lattes, we are confused with what machine should we buy, our options are this one the EC860 and de Delonghi EC685M (deluxe) all your help will be appreiate it
Hi Gail, I need your advice.. I have Delonghi EC-155. Have had some issues.. 1st one lasted a good yr. Was GREAT! My froth was like lemon Marange pie peaks & I use non dairy sugar free French Vanilla or Hazel nut etc.. Plus 1 or 2% milk.. LOVE it! I am interested in upgrading maybe... Would you keep the EC155 or which would be a better upgrade unit from Delong.. EC-702 or the EC860????? BTW, I learned how to use my EC155 by your video's & how to get a great froth or steam etc.. Thank you Gail :-)
Great review. We just purchased this machine and so far love it. Just made my first Cappuccino! Does anyone know if there is a way to user the auto froth container to just make frothed milk without making a cappuccino or frappuccino? Thanks!
Hello, thanks for the nice review, I have this machine and I have one issue that I can't figure out! When I use the machine for any drinks the power button keeps flashing red! This didn't happen before! Any suggestions?
Ahmed Nour it means it’s time to de-scale your machine. They built in this flashing as a reminder. Once you do the de-scale operation it will stop flashing. The procedure is in the manual.
Thanks so much for doing these videos! How's the weather out there? (I'm a Seattle native living in Arizona now, yuck!) You guys have really helped me decide on which machine I am upgrading to from my Tassimo, which I still love, but want more variety and control in my coffee but still be able to maintain some automation for quicker prep. Saving up for the EC860 now! WooHoo!
Gary Watkin this was a $1600 Canadian machine when it came out originally, so £250 is a very good price. I have had this for almost five years and it’s awesome
thanks for this video, im colombian (sorry for my english), im going to open a small coffe shop and bakery and i want to know if i can use this expresso machine for my bussines, or you can recomended to me other one with similar price?
Hola Angela! We love Colombia! The espresso machine that you chose to use at your coffee shop should really be determined by how many drinks you expect to make during an hour. If you we're making one or two drinks an hour, a small home machine might work okay (though it would experience wear and tear much quicker than at home). However, if you have any hope of producing many drinks an hour, you'd really need a commercial grade machine! Here's another video that helps explain that a little better: ruclips.net/video/3o1X3LCldkk/видео.html. Hope this helps and good luck with your shop!
Hi Gail, I really love your great reviews, very informative and to the point!!... I am having a hard time between this one EC860 and a refurbished ESAM 3300...I would appreciate your comments about which one to buy! thanks in advance and keep it going with great videos like this one!!!
+Alvaro Rosales Thanks for watching! What types of drinks will you be making on your new machine? Is an automatic milk feature something that interests you?
+Seattle Coffee Gear I am more interested in a machine that produce more consistent good espresso shots , from time to time I like to make cappuccinos, but for that I can buy a separate electric milk frother..., the other machine I discovered yesterday and will be the third contender in my decision is Jura Ena Micro 9, what do you think?
+Alvaro Rosales We were going to recommend the Jura line to you. The Micro 9 would be an excellent choice. The milk is not always the best, the shots are consistent and dosed higher than most other superautomatics.
i just bought this machine and followed the setting up instructions but the hot water button keeps flashing although the tank is full and in its place.. nothing else works 💔 someone HELP please
I've found that if the water tank runs empty, then in order to get the water flowing again, you have to run water through the system. If you have the frothing attachment, just press and hold the hot water button until any air in the system is flushed out; or with the milk/cream unit, press and hold the clean button until the air is flushed from the system. Good luck!
I HAVE QUESTION PLEASE, HOW CAN I FIX MY DELONGHI COFFEE MACHINE MODEL AC860 THE STEAM FUNCTION IT DOESN'T WORK! WHEN I PRESS TWICE ITS ONLY LIGHT BLINGKING?
I've had this since about 2015-2016 and it's great. Love it so much that since it's discontinued I've even considered buying a second just in case and/or for parts.

The machine, 860.MI have too, cheers ;-)
Thank you for the review! We've had ours now for two months and absolutely love it.
Was it still good, its bin 4 years?
I bought one looking forward to using it when I get back in off the road.

If you haven't completely lost your mind in search of the Perfect Shot, this is a great machine. About half the price of anything comparable, too.
how did you know I AM LOSING my mind trying to find the perfect machine for me??? lol
only the *next* shot could be perfect 😅😊
Pretty cool machine, but personally prefer more "manual" semi automatics, with unpressurised portafilter and a manual steam wand.
thank you for the review, debating between this and the calphalon Temp IQ...

Hello Gail. Are there any non-pressurised baskets that would be compatible with this machine?
+Deepan Vyas Only pressurized as far as we know.
I’m new with all this...What naked portafilter measurements do you think it uses ?

I really like your videos, thanks a lot1
You are the best, thank you
I love the maschine, but my espresso is very thinn
Can you do latte art with this machine?
Michael Lock
Of course, if you're feeling fruity
does this have an auto descale like the 680?
Hola, alguien que me pueda decir como hacer para que mi café salga cremoso, apenas compre la máquina pero sale muy diluido el café
Hi all is good but what about using e.s.e.coffee pod's
Hi Rinaldo! The EC860 is definitely compatible with coffee pods! Hope that helps!
And the pod drinks it makes are very good.
Is it possible to do latte art with this machine?
It is if you use manual milk frother, panorella system.
I HAVE QUESTION PLEASE, HOW CAN I FIX MY DELONGHI COFFEE MACHINE MODEL AC860 THE STEAM FUNCTION IT DOESN'T WORK! WHEN I PRESS TWICE ITS ONLY LIGHT BLINGKING?
Nice machine!

+Jazem Alanazi Thanks for watching!
Thank you
+ADAM You are welcome!
Delonghi coffee machines EC860.M nice and expensive, employees are happy to buy indocafe small, for drinking.
الة ممتازة🎉
Nice
No me avanza más que luz del agua parpadeando
Too much work for me. Philips 4300 is better for me.
Please answer
Yes, just froth the milk in a pitcher using the wand, rather than having the machine do it.
This demo is even less informative than the manual that comes with it! What's the point?
