Tengger Cavalry is an incredibly underrated band, I don't know if they invented mongolian folk metal but they definitely perfected it, the original recording of Ancient Call is one of my favorite albums ever!
Speaking of incredibly underrated, theres this indonesian deathcore artist called Makhlvk who has some of the most insanely unique music and vocals that rival Dickie Allen. If you wanna hear a song that is essentially deathcore surf rock with extremely sick vocals, check out "200 Tusuk".
Edit: Oh yeah, and if you wanna hear even more asian folk metal, I'd check out Chthonic, they're a very popular (by metal standards anyway) taiwanese folk metal band that incorporates similar eastern instruments to Tengger Cavalry. They even have clean vocals sometimes, like in the song "Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace".
Oh yes, I love everything they ever made. And all musicians I recommended them to love them. The critics love them. For so many good reasons, and you mentioned most of them. Now, I listened to everything from them, because they don't exist anymore because the lead guitarist/vocalist/songwriter/band leader died. Officially there is no cause of death given, but he died really young after a sad, sad story that is unfortunately not uncommon. Wanted to leave a label because he was unsatisfied, contract had him bound for years to come, no production for 2 years - he died. You can speculate about what sensible musicians feel... 😞

Now, they also delivered Mongolian / Chinese culture and topics in the lyrics, and it is fascinating to dive into their full musical concept. I heard everything they made, saw every video available on YT, and I really, really love it. For me, it is like what the late Bathory means to Viking culture, but for Mongolian culture - and more alive (in the sense, that it's a living culture still...) SO good. (I really love the late Bathory, so this is kind of the biggest compliment I throw at bands...)
Now, people often recommend The Hu, a band that tries something VERY similar to Tengger Cavalry. I am very happy you heard this one first. It might not have that polished production, but it was the spark, that brought this culture into metal.
Loved the reaction. It made me happy that you liked them! I hope, some day, you will find the time to listen into their whole catalog. It is not that big, sadly, for above reason, but really, really worth it. Unique and heartwarming.

Oh, and I forgot: TF is this with BLEGH??? Metalcore, really? Nope. Ridiculous. They commercialize it since last year as "metalcore culture", but it is SO much older. It probably originates in the 80s, with the first black metal bands, definitely was used by thrash metal bands (like Pantera or Slayer!) and I heard it countless times, also from death metal bands. All LONG before metalcore existed. Actually, it was kind of dead already, because of usage overdose, and already kind of a joke, with historical value. 😀😀😀. Forget about the metalcore legend. Un-trve!

It was not me who recommended Alien Weaponry, but that suggestion inspired me to recommend Tengger Cavalry! I chose them over bands like The Hu because Tengger Cavalry were the precursor to bands like that.
They're hit or miss with me but I love this track. 😎🥳

Hi. Do you have already heard about a all japanese female power/thrash heavy metal band named LOVEBITES ?
They just finished european tour and played in all major festivals. In september they come to US.

I love you didn't do The Hu for this subgenre. A similar one is Nine Treasures. The musical instrument you liked so much is called an Igil or Horse Head fiddle and is a staple of Mongolian music.
One sad thing is that the head singer of Tengger Cavalry, Nature Ganganbaigal, died (probably from suicide) in the US in 2019. I love you didn't do The Hu for this subgenre. A similar one is Nine Treasures. They sort of started metal in Mongolia or at least went big enough to succeed in the west .

Seconded…with reservations. Mabool is one of the greatest albums of all time, everything after that is extremely hit or miss. For just one song, “Sapari” is my choice
