I’ve really been enjoying your videos Captain CA! I’m a commercial fisherman in Nova Scotia. I was born in Florida and my whole family is here. I now spend a lot of my off season here and instead of chasing lobster, snow crab and big bluefin tuna I have been fishing the Crystal River/Homosassa area. I bought a 1996 BackCountry “Island Hopper” to fish your area. One of the best “Investments” I have ever made. Your videos have given me a great idea of how to start looking for these awesome fish. Thank you very much. Tight lines and hope to see you on the water someday. Also I hope this next hurricane doesn’t hit you guys!!! One in a fall is enough!!!
Glad to be of assistance to you on your inshore journey my friend. And, I totally agree one hurricane is one too many on this coast. I will keep my head down as this one comes by!
Great counsel, CA. Sure hope you do a vid on the Catch 5 as we mentioned before. The only Catch 5 video I’ve found is good but I know there’s more thorough coverage to be shared. Looking forward to throwing a couple of your custom MR27 soon in the Laguna Madre with the hook revision you highlighted on a recent episode.
From south west La. have enjoyed these bait recommenations so much, has added a lot to my inshore fishing. Hope you have made it through the recent storms with out to much damage CA.
Love your videos! So informative and has 100% helped me to catch fish. Can't wait to try the new Zman Prawn Star shrimp! Hope you and the fam are safe during this storm, can't believe there's another one messing the west coast up :(
@flatsclasscharters Glad you made it. I feel for the people that lost stuff. I went through it in 2018 when hurricane Michael hit Panama City. It will truly humble you!
Thanks for the inspiration I’ve come to expect from this channel. I’m really interested in booking a charter trip sometime this coming winter. Could you let me know if that’s a possibility?
We’ve got pogies moving into mobile bay and the rivers and the shrimp leaving the bay at the same time, if I could get my hands on that prawnstar I’d be excited, I work EZ shrimpz on a 1/8 oz Texas eye and a scented shrimpz under a Fairhope Rattle company popping cork, killer!
On the z-man minnows, why don't they make the same colors in 4" as they do in 3". Some brighter colors in 4" would be a nice addition for the striper guys in MD and Va.
Thanks for more great content CA. Off topic, but how would you feel about the Lew’s skipping reel in saltwater? I’m mostly a bass guy and want to get a skipping rig for that as well as inshore. Any idea how it will hold up to salt. If not that, what about the Curado 150 DC or something else?
Bruce- honestly the DC reel gets a little sticky in the saltwater very quickly unless you keep amazing attention to maintaining fresh water cleaning. The Lew’s is a skipping reel due to shallow spool but you might also look at the Bates Salty 100. It’s easy to tune for skipping and it’s amazingly strong 15lbs of drag!
Excellent info for everyone from NY to SW Texas! Thanks a always Capt.
Duuude!!
I can tell who loves to fish October!!
Love the energy, CA! I'm pumped after that one!
Thanks Jeff… October pumps me up too

Stay safe down there Capt. Looks like you have a major storm coming your way!
So fortunate we got through this storm without any damage to our home or businesses. Many others were not so lucky

There’s weeds/ floating grass everywhere in the Indian river lagoon. Need to figure out more weedless options
