- Wrong (1989) by NoMeansNo is an underrated rough diamond with one of my favorite drum productions of all time, sounding real and raw like if the kit was recorded only with a room mic in a rehearsal room, yet sharp and full of rudiments with one of the best performances I've ever listened to, John Wright is a hell of a player!
Their "punkrock meets progjazz" approach is an antithesis but works miraculously played by these three Canadians. As their sarcastic lyrics needed a performance up to the task I decided to bring back my nineteenth-century doppelgänger, which makes playing drums even funnier!

More nomeansno please!! Excellent. Live they where the best band i ever saw..
Thanks! I've never seen them live, but I've watched their performances on youtube and they are ridiculously good, so tight and precise!
One of the few bands i never wanted to miss when they came to the Netherlands. Saw them eight times ill guess. How do you learn such complex songs? Very good...

I learn the songs I play by ear, dissecting piece by piece and repeating a lot. Divide and conquer!
Thought for a moment Bob from the Church of the SubGenius had grown a beard.
Great cover!

Oh yeah duh and great playing!
So little views, such great content.
This is so sick!
great christmas gift!
Thanks a lot, Rennie! it's nice to read you. Merry Christmas buddy.

would it be much harder to play using trad grip like John did or is it just a matter of preference?
Good question. It depends on how the drummer learned to play, because changing your grip would make the song a bit harder if you're not used. Sometimes I switch to the traditional grip (you can watch me playing like that in a couple of covers here) and I tried to play this song like John but I was losing control and dynamics...he's a master in his craft, one of the best drummers I've ever seen: precise, tasty, resourceful.
fuck yeah man! excellent
Thanks, it was really fun to play (but a HELL to learn).
@@chusmaestrolove the sound of this kit.. if i'm honest I like the tone of this better 😮 more open vintage sound.. at least i think that's what im hearing.
@@seamarsh3756 Thanks, I'm glad you like it to! I'm so used to its sound but I love the deep and organic tone; anyway, I think is not far from the original drum sound, maybe more dry.
