    Thanks Jason for your teaching brother. We need more people like you willing to teach, as there are many including my self at one time, that just read the bible and that was that. You are showing us how to read the bible and to think not just run through it. This is so important as revelation comes with those who are dedicated and serious about the holy father's holy words. All bibles no matter the type give a certain clarity and the overall message is delivered. This comes clear if you pray and ask God for understanding and wisdom and knowledge in the holy word before reading. God's word is eternal. Keep up the awesome work brother..

    This makes sense. I like your conclusions. I used to have a bible many years ago that gave a history of each chapter. I regret so much that I threw it out when it started falling apart. Having that history helps so much as well to better understand each chapter.

    12:13 This is a good question, who is this letter addressed to? I like the point where you said this could not be pertaining to the Gospel of Christ but rather the old covenant of the Torah which Christ fulfilled. What confuses me is the similarity of the ‘Elementary teachings’ and the Good News of Jesus the Messiah. That is being repenting, faith and resurrection- in order to be saved one must repent, and believe in the Resurrection of Jesus. I can see how people get it twisted and say that the teachings of the past should be ignored and not preached but they are what leads to Christ.

    Thank you for the great video and platform to discuss and I will try to watch the full video. I believe that the maturity and solid food refers to spiritual growth in relationship to God the Father, being able to be in the spirit and having understanding of the spiritual world, God is Spirit after all we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth.. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

    I very much enjoyed this, but I’m not sure I agree in all the points. I’m not sure that the six elements that are identified in verses 1-3 are particularly talking about Judaism, as opposed to Christianity. In other words, I’m not sure that this is a warning to Israelites who have yet to go beyond elementary teachings of the Mosaic law into the Gospel and Christianity. 1) Chapter 5 is clearly dealing with Jesus, not just the Christ in general terms. Verse 7 specifically refers to part of Jesus’ story. Therefore, the intended audience would be familiar with the gospels and the stories they told. 2) The KJV (which I grew up on) doesn’t use the word “washings” but “baptisms.” There really were no “baptisms” in the OT law. But various baptisms are referred to frequently in the NT, from John’s baptism to Christian baptism to baptism of the Holy Spirit and even the baptism in fire. Though “washings” of various sorts certainly existed in the Mosaic law, I don’t see them as foundational to the law in the same way that baptism is in the new covenant. 3) Was resurrection of the dead really all that foundational to OT Judaism? The Sadducees certainly didn’t think so. It seemed to be a contentious issue with Judaism rather than an elementary principle. But it is clearly an elementary and foundational principle of the Gospel. 4) The reference to “crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh” in verse 6 indicates that the intended audience already knew and believed that the Christ (the Son of God) had been crucified. That would indicate that the audience was already Christian, not Jews who had not yet believed in Jesus. But this is a difficult passage. It doesn’t wholly fit into many theological perspectives.

    I'm reminded of Luke 13:6-9, The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree. This parable from Jesus Christ seems to fit the same mold of what Paul was trying to communicate. Those who have had the milk - who are the ground that drinks the rain & are fertilized, but do not produce useful vegetation (bear fruit). I'm inclined to believe that Hebrews 6:4-6 is speaking about those who are given the Word, maybe even experience regret/contrition from their sins, & even believe on a surface level. BUT, they don't grow from there (produce fruit) & they quickly fall back into wickedness (sin) without any regret. Without much of a second thought. Lovers of iniquity. They refuse the solid food & eventually walk away.

    All the way back in the beginning of Hebrews, the authors established a parallel between the Hebrews of his and the Mosaic Hebrews. The Mosaic Hebrews saws God’s miracles, tasted His provision, went through the Red Sea as a picture of baptism, heard the word, and they professes faith. What was the result? Most still have EVIL HEARTS OF UNBELIEF, and their KNOWLEDGE WAS NOT UNITED WITH FAITH. These people did not lose their salvation or rewards in heaven, they were NEVER SAVED.
    What does God have to ALLOW? He guarantees/predestines SANCTIFICATION, so this is not something that MIGHT happen to the saved. What He has complete control over is WHO IS SAVED. He SEEKS humble and contrite hearts, and He JUDGES the HEART. Your words and rituals do not save you of force God to save you.
    Just like the Mosaic Hebrews, those in Hebrews 6 and 10, the saw, experienced, tasted, professed BUT were NOT SAVED.

      False teaching will never do what this young man does, and slowly examine every detail to first develop a local understanding, and then compare that to the rest of scripture for contradiction. Instead, false teaching always ignore details to avoid complete context, picks out specific details that fit the system, leave the passage to connect them to the system, and then take all that back to the original text to re-engineer the ignored details.

    All very foundational teachings of the Gospel. Stop sinning, be faithful to God, baptism(washings)[literally the Greek word baptismos], laying on of hands(healing sick, prayer etc...), resurrection, Hellfire.
    Most of todays "Christianity" would consider someone who believes and follows those foundations is a mature "Christian". But the author of Hebrews says that he expects people to move past that.
    Really makes you think about the sad immature state of our apostate "Christian" world in these end times. As Paul prophesied would happen in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

    Most churches preach repent say you believe and be baptized is all a person needs to do to be saved and get into Heaven that is the elementary and not correct mainstream adds basically only two things to that give them your money use tithing and themselves as God's financial manager title to get people to give them money. And don't have sex with anyone but your spouse. The rest they either tell people to run the world and to hide under their bed. You talk about what God created they claim everything you need is in the Bible so books like Enoch should not be taking into consideration which is kind of funny because while telling you that you only need the Bible they have a million of their own books that they have written to sell you so you can understand God.

      I agree. Denying extra-biblical sources will hurt your maturation. We must be discerning in what we read, but for instance the book of Enoch is quoted in the book of Jude. There’s a reason for that, so Christians need to ask themselves what is the reason, and look at those things.

    The "analogy" idea on the word is laughable, the majority consensus among new testament scholars would disagree, there's nothing in the context that's suggest even remotely, that's maturity is an analogy.
    They ought to be teachers, unbelievers ought not to be teachers of God words at any point in time.
    Hebrews 5:12
    They are expected to mature in the faith they already. Again Not laying the foundation of repentance from dead works, the word Again means it something that had been already done, that they should not be needing to do Again
    Hebrews 6:1
    If God permit - This is not to be interpreted as if God was "unwilling" that they should make such advances, or as if it were "doubtful" whether he would allow it if they made an honest effort, and their lives were spared; but it is a phrase used to denote their "dependence" on him.
    Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

      The translation he reads makes me tense as well. As I myself do read from the Greek and Hebrew interlinear. There are also a lot of mistranslations in the KJV as well though. When you start reading the Greek and Hebrew you will start seeing a LOT of flaws.
      The NKJV has corrected most of them. But there are still some strangely butchered translations in that. The NKJV is the closest I have found to a direct literal translation.
      I highly suggest you look into it if you desire accuracy. Or even get an interlinear Bible and read/translate yourself using lexicons and concordances.

If you could point out some of so-called errors in the K.J.V., let me know. @@ralphowen3367 No disrespect meant by this. First problem with that statement, before I even get to KJV translation errors. Which I will gladly provide. You do know that females are forbidden to be a public teacher of or about Gods word right?
      I wrote a whole article about this, going in great detail about the role of women in the Bible, New and Old Covenants. But briefly, 1 Timothy 2:11-15, 1 Corinthians 14:34-38, Isaiah 3:14. Women are to be, Titus 2:3-5, 1 Peter 3:1-6. Remember Gods curse on women after the fall,
      "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
      In pain you shall bring forth children;
      Your desire shall be for your husband,
      And he shall rule over you."
      A place where both the KJV and NKJV are wrong in the translation btw. That term "your husband" just means man. The your is added in there. The word literally means man. Thus why Paul said, the woman(not wife) must be in submission as the LAW says, 1 Corinthians 14:34.
      That is just 1 of many. The translation of Hades and Sheol to Hell just like Gehenna. But Hades and Sheol are the holding cell, Gehenna is the lake of fire. 2 totally different places. Like calling county jail and prison the same thing. Similar but not the same, misleading translation. There are many more I would be glad to help point out more if you would like.

      "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."
      In the original greek there were no punctuations so they were supplied by the translators. If we read it how the KJV has it punctuated, we conclude Jesus went to Heaven on the day of His resurrection. However, this contradicts the message He gave to Mary on Sunday morning when He told her not to touch Him for he had not yet ascended to Heaven.
      One or the other was a false statement based on how it was translated. Now consider a different punctuation of the verse...
      " And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee today, shalt thou be with me in paradise."
