☆ Squirrelflight PMV - hoax

- So - here's an instance where a PMV invented itself in my head! It finally got me to take a 2 week break from commissions to get it done and I'm really happy with it.
I wanted to explore Squirrelflight and specifically the events in The Power of Three/Omen of the Stars in which she has to lie and take her sister Leafpool's kits as her own, and her relationship with the three of them, and the consequences of the lie when Ashfur forces her to reveal it.
Initially I wasn't even going to do the whole song but it's the only way I envisioned an "optimistic" ending and Squilf deserves happiness!!
Anyhoo I hope you guys enjoy! ♥ I might tinker with the description a bit but hopefully the plot of the video is relatively easy to follow (as long as you know the books lol)!

Squirrelflight is one of my favorite characters in the books, and in my opinion was treated very wrong by her children, Brambleclaw, and everyone around her, she didn't deserve their treatment, and she stayed strong during the times of abandonment
Dude she lied to them their reactions except Hollyleafs were normal!
@@FantasticFawnleap tbfh the only person she lied to was brambleclaw, in the sense that the 3 weren't his biological kits.
No matter how you look at it, the 3 WERE squirrels kits. She loved them. She raised them. She cared for him. They were her babies, she never once lied about that.

I come back to this every now and then. It breaks my heart for the treatment and blame Squirrelflight gets. She is a caring and loving mother and sister. She out everyone fiest before herself. She doesn't deserve the amount of hate she gets from fans and truly deserves the world. Even if she lied once, thats no reason to hate her. She did it for her sister and Leafpools kits.
Squirrelflight will always hold a special plsce in my heart. She is truly an amazing character

@@FantasticFawnleap....what. she was literally always there for her children, was constantly worried about them and their wellbeing, and did everything in her power to keep them safe. That sounds like a pretty good damn mother to me...

Literally! Starclan itself basically went:
shoves kits into paws “alrighty goodluck with your new babies squirrelflight! What? You don’t want them?! Fine then you’re sister and her kits will suffer and you’ll never have kittens 😼Oh! now you’re going to take them? good 😻”
and then after the reveal:
scoffs “omg, everyone, can you imagine breaking the code and lying to your clan?! Ugh what a disappointment squirrelflight..I can’t believe you’ve done this!😾”
I'm honestly crying, I love Taylor Swift and live off warrior cat maps. This made my day!!

This is fucking beautiful!! It's so emotional and heartbreaking/warming!
My absolute favorite thing about it is that it's completly canon compliant, It feels as if i'm watching a playback of what I was thinking during the books. It's absolutely flawless.
I'm going INSANE this is INCREDIBLE, the shading, the colors, the DETAILS. Squirrelflight is my favorite character and this is the kind of brilliant work she deserves. I've never heard this song before and I love it so thanks for both the squilf and the song!
Coming back to this a few months later and this still makes me cry. Squirrelflight had gone through so much. She went from being a headstrong apprentice to a hard working cat.
It's hard to think that so many people will still go out of their way to treat her like garbage. People also forget that she was forced into taking in those kits by StarClan themselves. And then they turn around and say she's the villain for helping Leafpool break the code nonsense.
And I want to state this if anyone thinks I'm making her out to be perfect, I'm not. She has her flaws, but she makes up for it. Her relationship with Brambleclaw should have been just a sibling relationship. I would have preferred that.
This is why squirrelflight is one of my favorite characters and im glad your able to her represent it well

Gosh this almost brought tears to my eyes, what an amazing work of art. This is just beautiful. I’ve never been that invested in Squirrelflight as a character but, lately the community’s depictions of her like this have been changing my mind and making me reflect a bit more. So much pain, adore it.
This is so sad but yet so good 😭 I love the 3 but it kills me how they treat squirrel after all she's done. (And bramble) Like she truly loved them and they just disowned her.
Gosh this is AMAZING!!!! I love the story and relationship between Squirrelflight, Leafpool and the kits, and you cover the emotions so beautifully, the art is just so good and comforting in a way, soft and heartfelt.

This is one of the best AMVs I’ve seen in years, and it’s right up there with the best of them. I can’t wait for your next! The characters read so well - it’s easy to follow their designs, actions, and most importantly emotions. Every background is beautiful not just because it’s detailed but because it’s setting the mood with different types of lighting. Your overall style is painterly and very aesthetically pleasing to look at in every panel. I have no doubt such a project took a lot of hours and I appreciate that this is a full length video. Sitting in a waiting room without headphones, I had to watch it without sound. BUT OH MY GOODNESS IT BLEW ME AWAY!!! The mostly lifeless style is flawless, and the narrative was super easy to follow! I intend to go rewatch it the moment I get back, thank you for creating this masterpiece!

Squirrelflight’s story is so sad, and the thing is that squirrelflight might’ve actually been able to have a happy life if leafpool hadn’t dumped her problems onto her poor sister, because she couldn’t handle them herself.

I mean to be fair it’s natural to go to a close loved one when you’re freaking out..and starclan itself dumped her problems on squirrelflight without her having a word about it, starclan is seriously the big bad in this situation
It wasn't Leafpool's fault, she could've been exiled from her clan if the secret were revealed earlier
I love the little detail where all the kits have blue eyes right after they are born since cats are born with blue eye and they shift in color when they age!

I'll be honest, not enough videos about Squirrelflight and her family just falling to pieces over a jealous tom. It just seems super overlooked, at least in comparison to all the ones about the tom that ruined her happiness for a long time.
Granted, she was a jerk to him, but I doubt it warranted enough to ruin multiple lives, not just hers.

@@foxygrin If I remember right, she dumped Bramblefur for a while and showed interest in Ashfur. I think she only did that so Bramblefur would get jealous, and this was for a period of like a couple weeks. She then dumped Ashfur and went back to Bramble since she missed being with him.
@@TopsyTriceratops Oh, I can explain why. She left him because he was treating her like a kit, bossing her around and such. She grew annoyed with his behavior and went to Ashfur for comfort. Her and Ashfur weren't confirmed mates though, they were in the courting stage, so it's more so rejection[never will understand why she went back to bramble but hey ig she missed him when they first became mates and he was much nicer
@Idotic Moron Which part because the mates is a true statement, from my memory I've never seen them refer to eachother as mates, sure they shown signs of liking eachother but crushing and actually dating is different[ash and squilf]. Squirrelflight made it bluntly obvious she wasn't happy with her and brambles relationship and if you DO actually pay attention to the dialog, Bramble does treat squirrel flight like a troubled kit instead of a mate at times
I honestly thought it was just her being nice and he took it wrong..or she genuinely liked him but couldn’t commit as she was still hung-up on her ex before getting back with her ex, kinda like when you like someone but don’t wanna date them and accidentally flirt with them..you don’t mean to be a jerk about it but it kinda happens.
