Many problems come with appliances nowadays. The least amount of electronics in any appliances the better.

The golden rule for buying a new fridge: avoid anything that has the ice maker in the refrigerator compartment.
The 2nd and 3rd fridges in this video will have their ice makers brake YEARS before the "cheaper" first fridge with its ice maker in the freezer.
Bosh makes one of the best modern fridges and dish washers now with its 800 series.
LG fridges have compressor problems, definitely pass on them, but LG makes amazing TV's and fairly decent washer/dryers.
Anything with a Samsung logo on it was made to break in only 3-5 years... sometimes sooner.

@@aidensnow5017 what about Kenmore? Sears. Our water quality in the town I live in is poor and I would never consider an ice maker. I am also trying to avoid electronics in the refrigerator. Most refrigerators are ice maker ready. I’ve tried frigidaire and Maytag and the compressors ran constantly. Any more advice that you have would be appreciated.

@@aidensnow5017 it is sad that these manufacturers are allowed to unload junk on the people. Years ago you bought a refrigerator and plugged it in and forgot about for 25 or 30 years. Back in the day any refrigerator was built to last. A person should only have to buy 3 refrigerators in their lifetime. I’ve had 4 in one year. I have an old White’s Westinghouse refrigerator that I bought used in 1997 that just recently quit working. It had to be 20 years old when I got it. Through the 4 refrigerators that I have had this year I have realized what the manufacturers are doing to shorten the life of the product. They are leaving the refrigerator low on coolant so that the compressor will run most of the time. Now they are putting extremely flammable coolant in the refrigerators and they cannot be serviced. The lady at the appliance and furniture store told me that they are designing refrigerators to stop working at about 7 years. Delivery people are also a problem. They ruined the coils on one refrigerator because they were in a hurry and did not take precautions unloading the refrigerator. They were illegals and did not speak any English. Tell me that this country isn’t going to hell in a hand basket.

I've got a Samsung Fridge. Purchased in new in 2011 and never once had an issue with it. A friend of mine bought a $6000 Subzero and has had it repaired several times including the compressors. Go figure.

    • @JohnDavis-yz9nq
      @JohnDavis-yz9nq 2 года назад +2

@@hmc2s I first bought a Maytag through Sears home store. The delivery people layed it down to unbox it. Caused a restriction and would never stop running. Less than 4 months and repaired 4 times it died. They replaced it with 2 frigidaire refrigerators and both of them would not defrost. The compressors were so loud that we could hear it running in the bedroom. Sears replaced the last frigidaire with a Kenmore and it seems like the best one. Cannot hear it running so quiet. Does have trouble keeping the refrigerator compartment at 40 degrees. Sometimes as high as 46 degrees. Supposed to keep a constant temperature below 40 degrees preferably at about 38 degrees.they brought it last Monday and I waited a few hours to plug it in. I thought that I had another dud because when I plugged it in the freezer started getting cold instantly but the bottom part was not trying to cool at all. Called Sears and ordered a replacement but the next morning it started trying to cool and it slowly got cold in the bottom. They are supposed to bring a replacement Monday for the same refrigerator but I am skeptical about changing thinking that I may get one that is worse. The Mexican delivery people did not speak English and they stripped out the screws that hold the handle on using a drill driver instead of a screwdriver. 4 refrigerators in less than a year. All repair people said stay away from the new Samsung refrigerators. And L G refrigerators also. Sounds like you bought one when they were made better. I am 68 years old and I am use to buying a refrigerator and plugging it in and not having to worry about it for 25 years. I am getting afraid to buy anything nowadays. This Kenmore is made in Mexico I found out and I think whirlpool is too. Wish me luck please.

Where Pro's & Con's are concerned, All three of these Refrigerators Had the Same
    negative !
    The " Automatic Ice-maker " !
The More Features Any Appliance ( or car, excetra ) has the more things there are to go wrong !
For my money even if I could buy 2 or more of them w/ no problem, I would get the one with the least features. That way there is a Lot less to break down .
Oh and that Ice-maker ? / A good set of store bought ice-Trays will do just fine !

Yup, ice makers and water dispensers are noisy fuctionning and coslty because you have to change filters. It is some sort of trinket that breaks and fails regularly. Best way to clean tap water is a top wide open jug that you keep in the fridge. You can even buy one with a dispenser for 20$. Chlorine evaporates over time...

Beautiful, but I wouldn't purchase with ice maker and water dispenser because it's taking away to much room inside fridge plus, will be problems with ice maker (break down) and water tube might gets mold is not wise to drinking. I rather used an old fashion to filling water in ice tray and putting in freezer. Also, I have a portable ice maker for the party. For GE Cafe and what will be a model number without it for that?

I just went to check fridges in yodobashi store, Tokyo. the popular fridges have a door and 2 drawers , one for veggies and freezer. Water/ ice dispenser doors were popular a decade ago, they explained.didnt find it. For the ice makings, require to add water manually, and there's an area inside freezer drawer but the design is awesome, it won't break up and parts are replaceble. French doors are popular in Japan either. I love the Japanese fridge, open both sides, and have a drawer to keep raw fish very fresh........
