    I bought a 2007 3.0 S-Type 6 yrs ago. I can honestly say. It has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. And at 75yrs young, I've owned a lot of cars! Like a beautiful woman, every time I look at the Jag I get a big silly grin on my face! If you can find a well-maintained 2005 -2007 buy it!

      what about an 03 thats when they updated it to the 6 speed , im looking at one for $1200 with 150k miles needs a wiring harness

      @@krayzietj I don't want to play the wise guy, but I tell you, don't do it and don't buy the car. For $1200 you can buy an electric bike or an 18 year old Ford Fiesta.
      If the wiring harness is defective, there is definitely more damage to the car, or what do you think why the seller sell the car so cheap ? A new wiring harness, if you get one, costs 1000 Euros or more and then it still has to be installed. If you buy a used wiring harness, it is at least 15 years old and will probably break again soon.
      Anyone who tells you that everything on the car is cheap or easy to fix has no idea or is lying. These cars had cost between 50,000 and 70,000 euros when new and are on the way to become classics after over two decades. A jaguar is always a jaguar no matter how old it is and it needs to be maintained. You must find a workshop that can fix it and that is expensive. What do you mean what you get for 1200 dollars? A maintained vehicle? 🤔😉😙 That's scrap metal, nothing more. To give you an idea - four new 235er wheels for the car cost around 600 dollars.
      Please read my other comment in the main comment section. Incidentally, Peter Turner is right, the best S-types are maintained cars from 2005 - 2007. All others are more prone to expensive defects and are different in many ways what you don't see at first glance . Please don't take offense at my comment, but that's the truth.

    I am test driving a 2005 S-Type Jaguar next weekend. I love the style and mechanics of the car, and will purchase one very soon. The S-Type ran from approximately 1999 to 2007. A person can find a lot of car for an affordable price in a good used Jaguar, if they take their time in careful buying. Great video. Thanks! 🙂👍👏🇺🇸

    A great underrated car. The prices here in Germany and other european states grew up since two years. The S - type has not been built since 15 years, the first models are 23 years and all S - Types start to become a classic these days. It`s a head turner, but for good examples, low millage, 3.0 V6, especially left hand drive, you must pay around 10.000 - 12.000 Euros.
    For the 4.2 Litre V8 you must pay arround 12.000 - 16.000 Euros. Almost everything else is just a short-lived pleasure that can quickly cost many thousands of dollars or Euros in repairs. It's always a Jaguar and that's never a cheap treat, no matter what anyone says. It`s an exotic car for car enthusiasts who maintain the car, not for crazy young or older guys who have no money for maintain it or make show or who think they have a racing car.
    I have mine since 4 years and I would buy him over and over again. So if you buy one enjoy it, but never forget almost all cheap S types between 2000 and 7000 dollars or Euros are more or less scrap vehicles on four wheels.

    I prefer the old interior, that has a separate climate control unit . This facelift infotament is eaht you get stuck with, since you can't upgrade it. In old dash, you can find a big screen that replaces both stereo and that small storage ,and it has a clear display, touchscreen ,android, decent sound, is a perfect fit and gives a car a much more modern feel and look.

    I drove one of these yesterday with a view to buying. It was a 2.7 2007 model and it felt kinda tired and worn, sluggish. I have two 3.2L cars (TT and Boxster S) and also a 2007 E Class that's a 3L, so maybe the difference made me think that. I don't know. Very nice inside and so comfortable. I will get one, but it has to be the right one. Has to have light colour seats and dark wood, of which, the steering wheel should be as well. A dark colour but not silver. I've already got three silver cars lol Nice video, thank you :-) I have subscribed.

      Ahh yeah that sounds like a tired example! If you can, try a V8 version of this model. There's a S-Type R as well, which I believe had a 4.2L V8.

      @@atstickyday3270 The only problem I have with those is the fact that the only ones I have seen have a dark interior. The one thing I love in a Jag is the dark wood, not black or charcoal, but so you can it's still wool. I also like the cream leather. Much more luxurious looking and I love it :-) Cheers.

    I have this type of Jaguar but having gearbox issues. It shows gearbox fault, DSC not available, abs fault while driving and recently I have to park it bcos after some minutes drive it stalls and when you park, it only goes into reverse when on drive or not. Pls advise, I love my Jaguar S-Type

    Are the materials soft? Is the leather real?

    • @atstickyday3270
      @atstickyday3270  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes the materials are soft. As far as I know real leather was used. Keep in mind that Ford owned Jaguar at the time so you will notice Ford things in the interior, same goes for interior quality.
