PIONEER is a strange creature. A lot of times when the flat screens would not turn on... that is due to someone opening the plastic casing that protects the electronics, [ the black box around your tv ]. That action of removing the tv case, and applying power will activate a [ spring loaded ] switch, called an anti tamper [ lock out ] switch. The same is true for the PDP 506 PU or PDP 504 PU which is the Media Receiver box that you have under the laptop. Pioneer asserts intellectual property rights over its technology and if you power up the TV or the Media Receiver without its case being on, the anti tamper [ lock out ] technology shuts down the main board. The field manual says you can reset the system. I will try to make this easy. Get your original pioneer remote control for the pioneer unit that is in lockout. Make sure that the cover or case is on. Turn the unit on. the STANDBY and ON light should be ON [ no blinking ]. On the remote Press DISPLAY..........< [ left arrow ] ............. up arrow ........ < left arrow ..........> right arrow ............ then press the power button. This puts the set into the service mode; [ screen will light up ] then you can select the service function you want by pressing the MUTE button. Its a lot easier that it may seem reading it here and I do not have an UP arrow on my computer. good luck.

What can I do if I don't have the original remote control. Is any different way to reset the system.?
