You are a legend, the rawness of your videos is a refreshing view, none of this sponsorship bullshit. Just getting out there and doing it like the rest of us with out 20k worth of kit. Keep up the vids bro. Look forward to seeing the Fiordland trip.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate your comment 😁. I'm sure we'll take a sponsor or two some day, but absolute bare basics is all that's necessary for a good time in the hills 😁. Cheers mate, hopefully get the first part up in a few weeks 🤞
Awesome work bro! Loved the, get close up shots no matter the weather conditions.Heaaaaarty!!! You're a true adventurer bro who loves a bit of fine dining hahaha much respect bro!
As always, I had a grin from ear to ear the whole way through that video. From yanking that stag out of the river to dragging half your kitchen into those hills with ease, you never cease to amaze! Your an absolute machine! Also that footage you snuck in to get of the tahr was some of the best raw footage Ive seen yet. Thanks again for another beautiful adventure mate, I cant wait for the Fiordland trip to come out. All the best Tasman.
the "I'm a fan of superlight packing" then immediately cutting to the wooden chopping board+ mincer you brought up the hill with you cracked me right up.
comment 2: that was brilliant fun. I'm glad you show the wee outtakes at the end, sure does add to the story. Once again, dont worry about not shooting an animal, the adventure is the thing, shooting some meat is a perk and we are happy to just follow the adventure. @@NZWildAdventures Although it would be easy now (relatively) than the experience a few decades ago when animals were getting the custard, the client makes the trip. As usual Tasman you embrace the total adventure and enjoyment you get from just being there. So entertaining, and I could almost feel the cold in some of those scenes. Just a thought, maybe a closed cell foam sleeping mat could be considered a worthwhile addition to your kit, bugger the wet sleeping bag caper!! But excellent again, and keep them coming.
Thanks Bill! Glad the enjoyment I get from just being in the great outdoors comes across 😁. That's a suggestion, in fiordland I did take a short piece for the torso section, but I couldn't find it for this trip 😂. I think the bag got fairly wet from condensation as well 🤔. Thanks for watching!
Another highly entertaining and inspiring video! Love the innovation and humour, the cooking and hard core distances you walk! Such beautiful footage of animals. Cant wait for the next vids
Another classic adventure, great animal footage thanks Tasman. I love the ‘It’s not really cold’ comment as you’re standing outside your tent ankle deep in snow wearing only jandals and shorts. Brilliant! And travelling with an ever growing swag of accoutrements - chopping board, grinder, colander and freshly tuned ice skates! Someone sponsor him a new billy...c’mon.
Incredible mate always a eventfull and educating vid love your camera work and yes that is very cold im from Queensland and ive never seen or touched snow so looking forward to the first time 😂
What an extraordinary trip. Thanks for the hard work in putting it on video for all of us to see. Some serious skills required there. Not sure which was the funniest part.. either the SKATING😂 or your comment " I like to travel light"..

Ka pai, fella. On a different not, how the hell are you not freezing your ass off wandering about in the snow in jandals and shorts!?!? I feel cold just watching you. 😀
Ah that's so cool, I'm stoked you're enjoying the content! Thanks so much, gotta respect our precious ecology aye 😊. What we have in nz is truly special. 😂😂 it was actually pretty warm this trip, up around 0 degrees C, plus I run pretty warm, only cooling off when I stop 😆. Cheers!

That dead stag was gross, but more gross was cutting those antlers off at the end. What are you doing to do with them? I am always impressed how you cope so easily in freezing temperatures. You must have anti freeze in your blood. And that Wallaby … I had no idea they could be eaten. Are they just as delicious as Tahr or Deer? The winter scenery is so much more epic with the ice….even though you’re such an ice vandal. Although it did look quite harsh and bleak with the rock and overcast conditions sometimes. How many people were waiting for the ice skates, and Tasman, to disappear through the lake. Winter Olympics are when? With this video, you really perfected the “shakes head” and “lip action to match” to signal no luck. Trademark that. It’s epic, gets a smile every time. The marshmallow bull. I know exactly why you said it, but what a combination of words. Like marshmallow Iron Man, or mash mellow Mike Tyson. I felt sorry for the bull…. All that marsh mellow teasing. Another artistic picture, rather than phrase, is the ice skater with the rifle set up on the ice, or the gourmet wallaby meatball-making with the rifle in the background. The marshmallow hunter perhaps 😊 Like a previous video that cloud in the valley was so pretty… right until it decided to come up the mountain. What would you have done if they had come up the mountain further and reduced visibility to zero - just try and GPS back to camp watching every step I guess? So much snow at the end. Very pretty though. It did feel like you omitted a lot of “professional do not attempt” warnings. Esp some of that day 6 stuff in deep snow with cloud nipping at your heels, and then the white out.
Ahaha what I showed in the video was nothing you shoulda seen the horror movie scene when I was cutting the head off, hundreds of maggots and slimy grey gooey flesh 🤢😂. I've got the antlers in the backyard, rotting the remaining flesh off, will euro mount em after whitening. Maybe I do have antifreeze for blood! But only when I'm active 😂. Yep wallaby tastes fantastic! Just as good, really sweet and not particularly distinct, probably have difficulty picking it out from beef in a curry. Winter is so pretty with the snow! Thankfully this ice was really thick, in fiordland last month I found a lake with only 4-5cm ice, thick enough to stand on but safe to say I stayed in the shallows near the edges! If I got into the winter Olympics for skating, I would score zero points and a concussion 🤣. Haha I speak so little normally I gotta get that non-verbal communication tidied up! I'm sure the bull can handle a bit of light teasing 😂 Definitely some really pretty scenery! If the cloud had come over if woulda been fine since it was an almost flat sidle back to camp 😁. GPS as a good backup though! Hmmmm you're right maybe I should have chucked in some "beware, don't do dis", but I'm sure most people who aren't prepared won't 🤷♂️😂. Cheers Paul, phat comment 😁😂
@@NZWildAdventures phat... very phat comment... but what choice did I have, it was a phat video. You def should have described the magot scene, even got chat gpt to script it for maximum disgusting.

I'm sure the bull can handle a bit of light teasing 😂
Definitely some really pretty scenery!
@pauldavies4870 quite a phat video 😂. That's a good idea, I'll remember that for next time! Just found your email, will reply at some point :)
Ice skates were epic. Who else is even ice skating out in the wild
Haven't seen anyone else, in nz anyway 😂
