why people hate mist of pandaria so much? the lore is just so beautiful , pandaren is a awesome race, yeah have some problems but still a very good expansion.
the simple answer is people (normally teenagers) want to put things down by pretending they are "too childish" for them, so a race that emulates kung fu panda is ripe for the "uhhh casual kids are ruining our game" crowd, I agree it was a fantastic expansion, 5.1 and 5.2 were some of the best content they ever did, but it never got the chance It deserved because people couldn't see past the pandas.
They're idiots who take offense that a game that never took itself seriously to begin with (and that contains numerous pop-culture references and jokes) had the audacity to include something as childish as kung fu pandas... I absolutely loved Mists and it's still my favorite expansion. It looked and sounded beautiful, and Pandaren are so cute.
Largely because of its timing. By all rights, MoP should never have come after Cataclysm; arguably Cataclysm should never have happened the way it did. Lore-wise it introduced something that was ultimately game-changing, something that should have forever rocked the world to its core and introduce a terrible evil that was hyped as unstoppable...then suddenly pandas, out of nowhere. Given the fact that a sequel to Kung Fu Panda was being released at the time, and the apparent rumor going around that the expansion's trailer was initially an April Fools Joke going over the top, and not to mention the problems that the game had throughout its time (largely an extension of problems introduced by Cataclysm, such as essentially making dungeons a joke and focusing largely on raids) made the natural response to most fans to be to consider it the worst expansion. Granted, however, Pandaria isn't without merit. Like I said, the timing of the expansion is largely the reason why it got so much flak. If Cataclysm/DeathWing/OldGods wasn't a thing, Pandaria probably would have gotten much less hate. The music in the expansion is probably some of the best in the game, it introduced a decent side-story that was completely original rather than following on the hype of the story set down by the previous Warcraft games, and it also expanded some of the visuals to the engine that would later evolve into the visual upgrades we would see in Warlords of Draenor. All in all, it wasn't that bad. This is largely from an observer's point of view. I've never played WoW and I doubt I ever will in the near future, but I've kept track of its lore and progress since Wrath of the Lich King. I'm pretty confident in my knowledge over it.
Halcyon Industries I find it a bit sad that people always bring up the panda movies and claim that's what inspired the Pandaren, while in reality it was most likely Dreamworks who stole from Blizzard. Without Warcraft 3 and The Frozen Throne there probably would be no Kung Fu Panda franchise today.
I don't care what people say. This has been my most favourite expansion, and I am saying this ready to be bashed. I don't care at all. The story of Pandaria is just amazing.

Well they actually fought the fight against the legion, when the pandarens were hiding :D ... that's why they probably weren't in Reign Of Chaos, helping orcs, elves and humans :D
Filip Daněk In the first sundering (when 80% of Kalimdor was completely destroyed because of the Well of Eternity's implosion) the orcs were not in Azeroth. I think only the Kaldorei were fighting the Burning Legion. In the second invasion the orcs arrived to Azeroth, corrupted by the demons. At that time, Pandaria was already hidden beyond the mists.
I am sorry if I said something wrong, I know nothing about what happened before Reign of Chaos, I thought that this invasion in The Burdens of Shaohao is the invasion from RoCh.
Filip Daněk No Very Wrong. Summary: Titans Built Azeroth (+ everything else), Azeroth gets taken over by old gods, Titans return, Kill single old god, Lock them all in the heart of Azeroth, Provide Well of eternity (not sure on this), Make Dragon Aspects, Set Sargeras to defend everything, He got corrupted, made burning legion, gathered army, found Azeroth, yummy well of eternity, decided to corrupt elves and summon him and his army through it, Got rekt by some High Elf (became night elves) heros (illidan, malfurion, tyrande) and dragon aspects. Corrupted night elves took a tiny bit from well of eternity and put into sunwell after a while, became high elves again, meanwhile night elves granted immortality for their bravery and tree of life. Then thousands of years pass, The burning legion (as it was now called) found the orcs, gave them fel blood, led them against Azeroth, sort of rekt humans but not quite.. Humans + high elves + Dwarves + Gnomes won the war. Then maybe another war with orcs and humans i dunno. Then Thrall Freed his people and Grommash's people (clans) and led them to Kalimdor from warning of the Watcher. The Human kings ignored the watcher when he said they were gonna get fucked. Night Elves sort of listened but they were in Kalimdor and in no serious peril. Jaina however listened and took her people to Kalimdor as well (theramore) The orcs were getting ass kicked by night elves so Grommash (and his clan) drank fel blood and killed their demi-god (Cenarius). Thrall came back and was like wtf and then he and Grommash fended off a mini invasion and killed Mannaroth, Grommash Dies, Thrall and Jaina become friends and they reach alliance with the Night Elves as well. Meanwhile Eastern Kingdoms gets anally fucked when their prince (arthas) betrays them and kills the king then leads the scourge to defeat his own people (first DK then Lich King). The scourge moves to Azeroth to try and Kill the night elves and get at the Tree of Life (war of the ancients) They fight bravely and let the tree blow up and kill the Burning Legion commander that was leading the Scourge and the Burning Legion into Azeroth. Arthas becomes lich king when the scourge is almost wiped out, and the High elves get thier well destroyed all amongst this, the high elves become the blood elves be restoring something (I dunno) and the rest is WoW

just found these videos and not only did I get chills I found my eyes begin to water in amazement, happy to find good wow lore again. *~transcends burden of doubt~*
Coming back to this after both Warlords and Legion... No expansion has ever brought me to tears when it comes to life lessons and beauty in an artistic gaming form. Pandaria will still be my favorite expansion. I can only hope that Battle for Azeroth will not turn into another Warlords...
So in the end, what do you think the Heart of Pandaria really was? Was it Emperor Shaohao, as he believed in his final moments? Or was it something else? Throughout the entire journey, Shaohao learned from the land, yes. It could very well be that it is the land itself that was the Heart of Pandaria. But there's something more to the story that was never discussed. Why was Shaohao Emperor? Why save Pandaria? For himself? Because it was his duty? For his land? No. It was always because of his people. The farmers, the fishers, the scribes, the cooks. The title of Emperor means nothing without the people. They, I believe, are the Heart of Pandaria. They are surely worth fighting for. Alas, Shaohao realised this last episode but it seems something led him astray at the last possible moment...
MoP was one of my most favorite expansions (after Wrath of the Lichking) and I loved it because of the music, the lore and the special race pandaren. The landscape of pandaria is also extremely beautiful.
mist of pandaria was the best expansion.. only most of the people wont see that because they 'THINK' vanilla was better.. and stay at the nostalgia side .. but thats the problem.. Mist of Pandaria had a great story and its was pretty much the best expansion..
This was just great storytelling, Pandaria in-game might seem a little stale at the moment, but I have a feeling we're going to miss it a lot, amazing expansion, and an amazing story.
Finally got around to watching all six episodes and I gotta say what a wonderfully told story! Reading some of the comments below and talking with my friends who love wow for various reasons agreed that MoP is WoWs best expansion. I couldn't agree more! GJ Blizz.
Still proud to be a Pandaren Brewmaster monk. Years ago I made a wish that Pandaren would be a playable race and the minute the first trailer was introduced I received a whiplash of great comments. Still have my main ever since. :)
Marvelous! This explains so much.... And we ourselves learned from this. We learned to have peace. if anything, more need to play wow or at least learn these lessons. For these lessons, are the way of life.
This series has been executed well from the beginning. Your lore team has done a great job telling us the story of the last emperor in a way that is touching. I encourage you to continue this kind of work. Especially as you head into the next expansion, it will be imperative that we gamers see the 'humanity' of the story. If all we see is bloodshed, then it becomes difficult to empathize with the characters.
in shaohao`s defence the story does acnowledge that he indeed isnt perfect and the journey was him learning the lessons of the land to save his people, in that last note i actually understand why the emperor only saved pandaria, think about it, he only knew there where another lands because of the vision and he didnt knew who lived there or where was this land we knew but of course he didnt, he did all he could to save his people and that its a heroic sacrifice worth remembering...
All of these vids have given me goosebumps. I love the art, the music, the voice-over, the story itself. This is why I love Blizzard, this is why I love the franchises you have created. While at times you show your flaws, I as a fan know that you're human, and that you'll make up for the flaws with grandiose displays of lore that makes sense, tie up loose ends, and even if you end up killing my favourite characters, you won't leave me feeling hollow.
This is it then. The time has come. The legion is here, but this time we are ready. So this time when the legion comes, they will not find a land divided amongst themselves with petty squabbles, but a land that stands unified. We will stop them, and we will bring down Justice. For all the lives they've taken, all the world's they've broken, and all the destinies they've ruined. This time, we know what we are fighting for, and the legion won't know what hit them.
There's always time to come back and play it. The Valley of Eternal Blossoms is destroyed, though, so you'll no longer see what it used to look like, but there's still plenty of lore to discover.
This series is absolutely 100% amazing, please do more like this!! The animation is a masterpiece and the narration is brilliant. Other races deserve similar stories too. :)
Rewatching these it's interesting to think Legion was a shock to people at all :p I'm very excited to bring my Monk into Legion Now, these stories were pretty wicked. Going to drop kick some Demons pretty soon.
+oOBlindyOo I was thinking the exact same thing, but maybe it's because in the time we (as characters) experienced the threat we faced was more related to the Old Gods than to the Legion. And why are they coming back? Yo, Khadgar what are YOU doing?
That's a good point. Retrospect is 20/20 I remember thinking, the Old God bit from SoO then again from all of the Bling-o-tron vanity texts. But then again looking further back, Old God's had always been pulling strings in every expansion. I like the mystery that surrounds them I hope their story gets handled properly unlike WoDs.
oOBlindyOo did you made a panda monk or other race? I am leveling a panda shaman and I have a bigger level blood elf monk, but maybe panda monk is the right way.
My favorite soundtrack at 0:35, and this was the perfect moment in the short stories that Blizzard used it. It vibrantly expresses how one would feel after being relieved of the negative emotions/burdens!
This was so inspirational! I ahet how there are people ahting on this expansion for it being about pandas when it so rich with philosophy and wisdom that maybe we should apply to our real lives. Thankyou blizzard for being awesome!
..its still a song, it would be easy to find it, just go on battle.net or blizzard.com/entertainment and search that video asking the song, it will list songs
This series is excellent, you should do more like this in future I feel. It's a great way to condense the lore that is otherwise hard to find, spread out in the world as it is.
I love this xpac.. Any who says: "it's a made up story", I reply with simple: "Duh, it's a game, everything in is made up, now if you'll excuse me I need to rest my brain after this fact hit me".
I can't believe this doesn't have more views! I never played anything except dota, but the art is amazing, the narrating and story are superb, and it's totally a self contained story anyone could relate to.
+InfiniteDarkMass Same! But to be honest, this is my first time watching these. I had no idea they existed. I think I found out about the WoD ones through the battle.net launcher, which I think was new to WoD, so I dunno how Blizz would've got the word out about these back when they came out.
lunayoshi well, I think I saw it first on IGN, and subscribed to blizzard's channer right away, but I didn't see them anywhere else. Maybe they only make them for the blizzard community and don't use it as advertising.
+Max FX Mists of Pandaria pretty much started the story arc that would eventually lead to Legion. With Wrathion's warning, and his wish to protect Azeroth, and all his plans that ended with him forcing the Iron Horde upon us so that the Horde and the Alliance would be forced to unite and work together, to be strong, and to fight for their home Azeroth.
Beautifully done, Blizzard. I am truly at awe with this piece of work. Wonderful! On a lore-related note, with the Mist receding, does this suggests that the Emperor knew of the third coming of the Burning Legion? That he knew that his people are ready just as he was? I suppose this is just preparing us for the next threat in Azeroth! Very inspirational!
+albert satria Dunno why you guys rate cata very bad but imo cataclysm was actually one of my favs. The popular opinions rule these days.If I may ask what was so bad about cataclysm. And yes I agree MoP is the best after wotlk

why people hate mist of pandaria so much?
the lore is just so beautiful , pandaren is a awesome race, yeah have some problems but still a very good expansion.

Exactly idk why people hated it imo it was better than cata and defenatly better than WoD

Beautiful story...
"The trees in the vale have never stopped blossoming"
Garrosh Hellscream: Challenge Accepted!
in shaohao`s defence the story does acnowledge that he indeed isnt perfect and the journey was him learning the lessons of the land to save his people, in that last note i actually understand why the emperor only saved pandaria, think about it, he only knew there where another lands because of the vision and he didnt knew who lived there or where was this land we knew but of course he didnt, he did all he could to save his people and that its a heroic sacrifice worth remembering...
I Freakin love the World of Warcraft Lore... Its just amazing the feeling it gives you, The art style, the music... Its just Freakin amazing!
gave me goosebumps and chills
This is it then. The time has come. The legion is here, but this time we are ready. So this time when the legion comes, they will not find a land divided amongst themselves with petty squabbles, but a land that stands unified. We will stop them, and we will bring down Justice. For all the lives they've taken, all the world's they've broken, and all the destinies they've ruined. This time, we know what we are fighting for, and the legion won't know what hit them.
+armsdragon05 What you just said literally got me hyped for legion!
+armsdragon05 you know the legion is endless right? and sargeras won't stop until azeroth is destroyed?
+Kroolini you realize we cant die? like ever... a patient walk and we resurrect. they may be endless in number, but we have endless lives.
Why do w fight my Friend ?
for our game
amazing story. i totally skipped that expansion and kinda wished i didn't
There's always time to come back and play it. The Valley of Eternal Blossoms is destroyed, though, so you'll no longer see what it used to look like, but there's still plenty of lore to discover.
This was quite beautiful, thank you.
This series is absolutely 100% amazing, please do more like this!!
The animation is a masterpiece and the narration is brilliant.
Other races deserve similar stories too. :)
Rewatching these it's interesting to think Legion was a shock to people at all :p
I'm very excited to bring my Monk into Legion Now, these stories were pretty wicked.
Retrospect is 20/20
I remember thinking, the Old God bit from SoO then again from all of the Bling-o-tron vanity texts.
"The trees in the vale have never stopped blossoming." Oh hey Garrosh.
I can't wait to see what Warlords of Draenor will offer us!
might be an all out war. the planetary threat most of u guys wished lol
My favorite soundtrack at 0:35, and this was the perfect moment in the short stories that Blizzard used it. It vibrantly expresses how one would feel after being relieved of the negative emotions/burdens!
Thanks for this Blizzard, amazing job there. Great story, greatly told... I even had to blink away a (manly) tear at the end.
Please... more of this!
I wonder if Blizz will do something like this for Legion.
There will be a series called Harbingers
Harbingers pales in comparison to this story.
Gul'dan was very interesting. And I really think Khadgar's Harbinger short measures to the burdens of Shaohao.
@@moscanaveia But the best of all was the Illidan one... What a cinematic.
that was seriously fucking badass. i wasnt a big fan of the enemies in early MoP, but overall the lore was fucking amazing.
True Leadership and Sacrifice unveiled through a video game...Blizzard educating people better than the governments themselves
This was so inspirational! I ahet how there are people ahting on this expansion for it being about pandas when it so rich with philosophy and wisdom that maybe we should apply to our real lives. Thankyou blizzard for being awesome!
I cried! The facial expressions were fantastic, and it was beautiful artwork!
just how awesome is the Pandar lore?
love the music!
wonder what the music is at 3:30
..its still a song, it would be easy to find it, just go on battle.net or blizzard.com/entertainment and search that video asking the song, it will list songs
Revis ThatSwedishGuy It is: Way Of The Monk, and it definitely was not made for this video ;)
made me cry...
You guys deserves an oscar for this series
This series is excellent, you should do more like this in future I feel. It's a great way to condense the lore that is otherwise hard to find, spread out in the world as it is.
I HAD to login to like the videos of this mini series
Shaohao, show us how.
this could be a movie!!!! :D
TinyTauren2479 THIS should be the next Warcraft movie.
This is one of the most incredible mini-series I have ever seen...
I love this. It came to me when i needed it most. Thank you Blizzard
Lol people say this game is getting worse, couldn't be more wrong.
People say a lot, it's what you feel that counts?
Ghos warrior leveling isnt really that bad anymore :) compare old Un Goro with new. FOR DOLORIA DIE DRAGON! :D
But then after WoD, there was legion :D
63 demon legions disliked this video.
Hussein Radi. Including five old gods
@@bashfulray7982 now garrosh, slyvanas and her boy toy have also disliked it.
I love this xpac.. Any who says: "it's a made up story", I reply with simple: "Duh, it's a game, everything in is made up, now if you'll excuse me I need to rest my brain after this fact hit me".
GELSPRG That man who reads (or games) lives a thousand lives before he dies, the man who does not lives but one...
This mini series was absolutely fantastic, thank you Blizzard.
***** That's a shame, if so. I think a lot of complainers might like these expansions more if they knew more about what's going on.
Can't believe it's almost ten years ago...
Man, it was like yesterday when they came out... Time
I have heard the music at the end from somewhere!
is the music from MoP cinematic
Thanks anyway ^^ I love it hehe
Legion foreshadowing.
+Writer Shard May I mention that's not the reason why Wrathion liberated Garrosh to form the Iron Horde, the reason is explained in Legion.
Writer Shard
If only Garrosh had been tied better to it all. I can't reconcile his MoP self with his Cata and previous self.
these videos were fantastic, I loved them :)
Am I the only one who thinks that this would be a greater MoP trailer than the original one :D?
for story people yes, but most people wanna see something action packed.
true
dam if i may say MoP are the best expansion after WoTLK
+albert satria i agree, wod was so disappointing ,cata was ok
+albert satria If I had to rank expansions from best to worst, it would be Wrath>MoP>=TBC>Vanilla>WoD=Cata
+albert satria Dunno why you guys rate cata very bad but imo cataclysm was actually one of my favs. The popular opinions rule these days.If I may ask what was so bad about cataclysm. And yes I agree MoP is the best after wotlk
+buldren0101 my list:
(Not including vanilla or bc cause I joined at late bc and never really experienced the end game)
Wrath>MoP>>>>>cata>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WoD
ppl still think vanilla is an expansion lol
I cri everytim :(
this videos are amazing they all gave me goose bumps! it must be so cool to have created this and to make people feels something so magical, thank you blizzard
It's remarkable how well the truths of this short story can be applied to real life...
I didn't cry or anything....
pandria and padaren where a extra quest on Warcraft 3 so yea They are cannon
you are so late... oh so late.
So this takes place during the war of the ancients
The explosion of the sunwell yeah
Mathieu Dewolf
the well of eternity, the sunwell is the pool of arcane energies north of qual'thalas.
the well of eternity was like the sunwell but much larger and much more powerful.
this was just great, an EXELENT way to tell us about the lore we didnt really knew; keep doing stuff like this blizzard!!!!!!!!!
Dude looking back at these and they are so full of wisdom! Specially with Covid!
