    Hope this tutorial helps you out. It can be really tough to know what options are the best for your artwork before you export, so I really hope this helps you format for jpg correctly.

    Not sure why would send the RGB file to the print shop?
    From my 20+ years of experience, Print Shop always asks for the CMYK files.

    I have a question. I want 300 dpi res but I want the size to remain the same. For example an image 220x220 with 300 dpi. I don't want the size to increase. Is that possible?

    • @Linda-cv6wd
      @Linda-cv6wd Год назад

      Yes. Changing the DPI does not change the size of your digital image or the size of your file.

    An employee’s personal appearance and hygiene is a reflection on the company’s character. Although Unity Homes does not have a specific dress code, employees are expected to dress appropriately for their individual work responsibilities and are encouraged to wear Unity Homes branded clothing. However, the sales and marketing team are expected to wear branded clothing everyday workday during work hours. For special events and occasions, the Head of Sales or Head of Marketing will advise on the official dress code to be adopted by the teams.

    So which format do you use with CMYK intended for print?

    • @designwithdale
      @designwithdale  2 года назад +2

      Make sure color mode is set to CMYK and use PDF, or send the .ai/.eps file directly to the printer (if they request it), or use the ai/eps file in an InDesign document which you can then properly export as a PDF for print. You can use JPG/RGB for print, it definitely works, but it’s not ideal practice if you need your document to have specific colors etc.

    When I got out of college 13 years ago, I moved from corporation to corporation as the lone designer (so out of touch with other designers to learn/grow.) Suddenly I've moved on to freelancing and I'm blown away to hear that I should save a 'print file' as RGB instead of CMYK! It's against everything I've ever known. I thought I'd test that and sent a jpeg design to a friend who printed an 8x10 design I gifted her in an RGB. She printed it at CVS Pharmacy and it turned out horrific! The white background had a blue tint to it and the blue flowers were intensified x10! So I decided to reprint it to Walgreens as a CMYK and it said they don't except my type of Jpeg. Come to find out they don't accept CMYK! I don't even know what to do at this point. You can't check your design before it prints because you only see a small thumbnail. The scary thing is...I have an Etsy Shop that I just opened with RGB images and I'm terrified that they will have problems printing them. Ugh! :(

    • @designwithdale
      @designwithdale  Год назад +2

      I have encountered this problem so many times. So many of those in-store/counter printers will literally only accept the basic 'RGB JPG' that smartphones create, and nothing else.
      I think, sadly, ultimately we should not be sending JPGs to print (web files) at all - but the growth of smartphones and digital photos has meant that this has become a thing.
      My solution (I did this with a client on Etsy) is to offer both JPG RGB and PDF CMYK versions of the artwork (use InDesign with the embedded PSD file, if possible), so that customers can use their favorite.

    How to export best quality images from Adobe Illustrator?

  • @saramaygelbert1062
    @saramaygelbert1062 Год назад

    I'm trying to export my artboards to 300dpi JPG at the same pixel dimension of the artboards. This is for Ecommerce images that are required to be this size and resolution. How can I achieve this?

    • @designwithdale
      @designwithdale  Год назад

      In the export box you should simply be able to select 300dpi and then leave the dimensions as they are (select use artboards at the save menu).

    I didn't understand why if I want to print a poster I can't save it in CMYK?

    • @designwithdale
      @designwithdale  9 месяцев назад +1

      Technically a JPG shouldn't be CMYK. For best print results save as PDF CMYK.

      Set 1920x1080 with 300dpi beforehand. If you set as 72 then export at 300 it will increase the number of pixels in the image.
